  1. Hello Howardine, it is good to see you back on the forum and hope you like the new format, it has a lot more features than the old one but since it has more to it is more difficult to find your way around but if I can do it then I know you can. You have been missed and hopefully you will have some stories to tell of Precious, hope she is doing just fine too.
  2. Josey has one of those tubular bells and the indestructibell but her favorite by far is the tubular one, it gets a good banging throughout the day.
  3. Boy have we heard that before! Just kidding Penny but don't take too long to figure it out as we want to hear Nilah.
  4. I use good old newspaper, we get it on the weekends and it is the best for lining cage trays, I also use it under the stands that my birds eat their dinners on, when they are finished I take it up and replace with clean, I have to admit I have a stack of it on hand.
  5. I can imagine there is never a dull moment in the Jay and Maggie household, those birds must keep you all in great spirits and laughing at their antics and the way they say things at the most appropriate times, what a hoot!!
  6. I think your amazon is very fond of you so you should just enjoy it while it lasts because it might turn different when he matures. I think that is so cute that you have to pry his talons off of you, of course I have had to do that with my conure a few times too.
  7. Sorry to hear you have been under the weather Sanggay, hope you are feeling lots better now. I love watching Cocoa take flight and thanks for sharing them with us.
  8. Thats a great looking stand and Murphy is in fine form on it enjoying himself, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  9. That was well said Jay and that is it in a nutshell.
  10. I am so sorry to hear your grey flew out of his cage and I pray that you find him safe and sound. Putting up the posters is a good start but go door to door in your neighborhood and ask your neighbors to be on the lookout for him, go to your local vets, pet stores or anywhere you think that someone might have sighted him and didn't know who he belonged to and told them about. Put his cage outside with food and water in it in the hopes he might see it and go in. Please don't give up for he is out there somewhere, spread the word, let it be known you are looking for him so if someone does sight him they will contact you. I will keep you and your baby in my thoughts and prayers that he is found and I hope it is very soon, keep us informed.
  11. That is one extensive list of words and phrases that Dayo says, he is one smart grey. I don't have an amazon so I couldn't tell you about how intelligent they are but Penny has both and I don't doubt that Nilah can out talk both her greys. It would be great if she could get some of their vocalizations on video as I would love to hear them, how about it Penny!
  12. Logan you have come to the right place to learn all you need to take care of your grey, we have thousands of threads that are full of useful and helpful information and we have many members who have a vast knowledge of greys and have many years of experience who are willing to share what they know with the rest of us. You have jumped in whole hog with a grey and having no bird experience but you seem to have the right attitude about getting into this and we are here for you if you need any help, someone is online at all times of the day and night but I think you will do fine. I am so glad you could find it in your heart to take in this grey, not everyone can handle a bird that has had previous homes and 16 years old, she will come with baggage but if you are patient with her then things should go well for the transition to her new home. I look forward to seeing some pictures when you get the chance.
  13. Now if you want some good scent in the house put some water on and add some cinnamon to it but yes candles are a no no around our birds.
  14. Thats good to hear Robin and more will come as time goes on, bet you felt so good when you heard him say his name, wonder what the next word will be.
  15. Hello Logan and welcome to our family, we are delighted you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Kihei.
  16. Yes they are safe to use for toys and yes they will chew right thru them, try some and see how long they last.
  17. Now they have two babies in the house, wow, I know I couldn't take that for long, glad it isn't a bird of mine, thanks for sharing that with us Jess.
  18. Paul you can add them right here in this post if you like.
  19. That is my favorite picture of Issac too, who can resist that heavenly face asleep on his Daddy. I think all the pictures in this thread are beautiful and they do look magnificent on this site, thanks for sharing.
  20. This is only the second day and he needs time to settle in and feel comfortable plus you haven't observed him enough to catch his signals or body language but from what you described as happening it doesn't appear you did anything to warrant a bite but it happens. Just don't take it personally and you will learn to read him better.
  21. That baby grey was fascinated by that dog's tongue, not sure it was the safest thing to do germ wise, glad it wasn't my grey but they seemed to get along well together. Thanks for sharing that Jill.
  22. What Dave is showing in his post is exactly what I have.
  23. Better late than never Lyn, hope she doesn't keep repeating it over and over and over and over, well you get my drift!
  24. Hello Paul and welcome to the family, the best on the internet without a doubt. Thats one handsome grey you got there, of course we will need more photos, never can be too many, besides we love baby grey pics.
  25. Thats one of the funniest things I have heard and I bet you were laughing so hard at that, at least Spock is honest!
