  1. I am glad I didn't get to see it if it was that bad, I hate to see animals suffer but Jules is right as there is much cruelty in the world, I hope someone gets it and gives it a proper home.
  2. The members here have given you some good advice and we are waiting to hear more from you about whether you are going to take in this bird so please update us.
  3. Some greys love to lay on their backs to play or get scratches and some don't and Josey fits into the second category, I have tried to flip her on her back and she won't have any of it so I quit trying, you will soon know if your grey will allow it. I have had Josey try to gurg for me a couple of times but I knew what it was and ignored it and walked away but I had a big smile on my face.
  4. I am not going to suggest any names for I think some will come to you in the coming days or weeks, something about their personality or behavior will trigger a name and it will be the right one.
  5. Here is one source of information on safe plants and trees: http://www.birdsnways.com/articles/plntsafe.htm
  6. They are growing in leaps and bounds and getting more active, I just want to pick them up and hold them close to my chest, so precious.
  7. Oh no Marion, you should have stayed right there with her last night but hopefully she will be sighted again, at least she is staying in the area, good luck to you and keep at it, I hope to hear good news real soon.
  8. Happy Hatchday Jasper, wow has it been two years already, I know mum was very good to you and I hope you will always be her little cuddle muffin.
  9. Hello Sunshinegrey and welcome to our family, the others have given you some sound advice, please do go visit with this bird and see for yourself but realize it will be no small task but it will be time well spent. He is just 3 years old so not too set in his ways but he is used to spending all his time in his cage and it will take lots of patience if you do take him in, he does need some time out but take it slowly and do not force him to do anything he doesn't want to. You will need to earn his trust if you are going to give him a home but he could just be waiting for someone to spend more time with him, you can't just keep a grey caged all the time, they need time out to play and be with their family or flock as we call it. Do go visit and see what happens and let us know what you decide to do but remember we are here if you need advice and especially if and when you bring him home.
  10. Please do come in but make it snappy!
  11. Happy Hatchday Slater, you are a handsome fella if I do say so myself.
  12. How neat to have another grey for a visit and so cool that they chat with one another, can't wait to see some pics.
  13. I love hearing about Salsa and her exploits, of course the food tastes better when it is stolen from the other birds and she is as pretty as ever, keep the stories coming.
  14. Jill will never learn will she, I knew what was coming when I first started to read this thread, Lyn I can imagine that you won't repeat that mistake!
  15. I don't know anything about the sun shine factor but glad to hear Mo Jo got a good report from the vet, thats always good to hear, I think the future is looking brighter by the minute of Mo Jo. Thats great he has gained a little weight and congrats on the stepping up.
  16. Thanks so much Jay for your help, I know Tanya appreciates it very much.
  17. He is a handsome fella and I have had Josey flip herself or lose her balance and not bite me, maybe grab a hold just enough to keep from falling, thanks for sharing the pictures.
  18. Gulp, Gulp, Gulp ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that was good!!!!
  19. Tanya you are being given some good advice from Dave and Jay but that breeder you bought these two babies from should have offered to give you more info so you would know what you are doing, I have to give you one thing, you are one brave girl to take on handfeeding two baby greys but now that you have them please heed their advice, this stage of their development is critical.
  20. I'm so happy you have found Bobby but I guess she is high in a tree if I am reading Penny's post right, maybe try one of her favorite foods to lure her down, in any case please keep us updated.
  21. I am on facebook when I find the time and if anyone wants to find me just send me a pm, I have lots of birdie friends there too.
  22. Thanks so much Caitlin for rescuing this bird, some people must have empty space where their brain should have been but I hope you are able to do something with this bird to make him happier, he is probably happier just to be away from that awful woman.
  23. Hello Heather and welcome to our family, its great to hear you are about to be a grey owner for the first time I presume and if you have done your research then you should do fine but we are all here for you if you need any help or advice. You are doing exactly what we like to see new owners do and that is to learn all you can before you bring your baby home so there are no surprises but there will more than likely be a few questions you may have so feel free to ask away and one of us or many of us will chime in with our advice or opinion. We love pictures here so if you have some of your baby or if not then as soon as possible please share some with us.
  24. What an adorable little baby grey, so precious looking at this age, thanks for sharing the pictures of your little cutie.
  25. We love these kind of "accidents"
