That is an unusual name for a grey but he sure is cute and loved the video, he talks very well too, he is very much in love with you in evidence of his "dance" so enjoy. Keep us updated on how he is doing and it will take quite a while for all those feathers to molt out and regrow but it will be worth it.

I always enjoy Emma's videos, she is so entertaining, guess she has a good teacher!
-
OMG, Alfie was looking for the classifed section to see if any companion birds are for sale, hint, hint!
-
Oh my gosh Stephen, I don't know how many members here have lost their keyboards to their greys but it looks like you have joined the club, you snooze you lose.

Those two look like great together, best buddies, its good they have each other but it is so sad the way Buddy was treated, how people can be so cruel to treat an innocent animal that way, well at least he has landed in the lap of luxury for he has two people who cater to his every whim even if he won't allow them to touch him. Thanks for sharing a bit of Buddy with us and much thanks to you and Maggie for allowing him to share your home.
-
They both look so great there in the bluebells, you are very adept at taking photos too Lyn, what a talented woman you are, thanks for sharing them with us.
-
He wanted to read it first so he could help you with it, they can be quick on the draw!
-
I have my fingers crossed for you and hope one of them has your name on it, how exciting for you, keep us informed.
-
Lyn, you sure do have a little "sweetheart" in that Alfie, she is just adorable, thanks for sharing it with us.

I have never had either of these fruits, don't know whether they are available in the USA but they sound yummy.

They are like little sponges they pick up anything and everything and even though it may initially be funny it can be repeated at the most inopportune time, not good.

Hello Billy and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Vinnie. So sorry to hear about the loss of your ringneck, I could imagine it brought you many years of enjoyment. My grey really only likes me but she is getting more tolerant of my hubby but I remain the only one who can handle her, she was not socialized very much for we don't have a lot of people come to our house but she gets out with me occasionally on trips and to work where they enjoy seeing her. But some greys just do not like but one person but give him time for he is just a baby yet, maybe it will take more time for him to warm up to your dad. Loved the poop story, thats why Josey is not allowed to sit on my computer monitor, its bad enough to have to clean up the floor and such but my computer is mine and no birds allowed. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru as many as you can and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for sharing some pictures of Vinnie with us, he sure is a cutie.

Thats the way its done, good for you.

Hello Hatten and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Aoodi. That is an unusual name and I haven't heard it before, what does it mean? No need to apologize for the english, we can understand what you are saying and do not be afraid to ask any questions you may have for we have many knowledgeable members who go out of their way to help one another on this forum, a great bunch of people that I am proud to be a part of. We have lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru as many as you can, you may find the answers to some of your questions already answered in previous threads. We would love to see some pictures of Aoodi if you would be so inclined to share with us.

The sweetest words that were ever spoken "I love you". It must be the cutest thing to hear your grey say those words and very soon it will be so clear, please do try to video it so we can hear it too. You must be grinning from ear to ear.

Hello first time cag owner from NC

Hello Tarheelgal and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and MoJo. Do realize that being in a previous home it is going to be a while before he settles in and feels comfortable so give him plenty of space and time to get used to his new home. He will learn to trust you but you must earn it but it sounds like you are doing just fine so far and you have come to the right place looking for any help and advice. We have loads of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them when you get a chance and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. There are many knowledgeable members here who have many, many years of experience who are willing to help you with any problems you are having so don't be shy about asking questions, we love a challenge. I look forward to seeing some pictures of MoJo when you get the chance to share some with us. -
I can just hear that conversation taking place, how hilarious that must have been, they certainly know how to work it don't they, thanks for sharing that funny post with us.

Hello Jon and welcome to our family and congrats on taking in this grey Maggie. It is still the honeymoon phase at this point, she is still settling in and finding her place in her new home, you will see more of her true personality as she gets more used to the new surroundings so don't be taken aback by her recent behavior. You will continue to observe her and how she reacts to things and you will learn her body language which will help immensely with avoiding a bite. Yes bites hurt, some can be very painful but if you are going to share your home with a hook beaked parrot then you have to expect a bite now and then, my grey Josey has never bitten me before but recently she did deliver one that broke the skin but it was my fault. I wouldn't recommend you allow her to shoulder sit until you know you can trust her and that may take a while with a previously owned grey. No at 8 years of age she is not "old" by any means but she is a mature grey and may have times she will be harder to handle, she may have moods that she won't want to be very interactive with you so don't take it personally for it is a sexual thing. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

I'mso sorry to hear that Loretta is gone but she is not forgotten and that little bell will ring in her remembrance, she was a beautiful thing.

Is sunshine exposure still good early or late in the day?
judygram replied to chezron's topic in Health Room
I guess it doesn't matter when during the day you take your birds out for some sunshine just make sure they have some shade they can get into if they get too hot but in the summer it might be better to do it either early morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the hottest part of the day. -
You are a brave girl, I have never had to give Josey shots but know that one day it might be necessary, guess I will deal with it when or if it happens but you have quite a task before you but you seem like you have it under control, good luck and keep us posted.

I can tell that Issac has you hook, line and sinker, what a ham to do that at bedtime to stall for more time out of the cage and I think he gets prettier with every picture you share with us, this one is super, such a handsome fella. The wolf whistle was the first thing that Josey learned and she still does it.

I am sure you will continue to hear all sorts of words and phrases but if I were you I would ignore the foul language parts for any reaction will only reinforce it further, if she no longer hears those kind of words spoken she will say them less and less but I know it is funny to hear from her, just go to another room and laugh if you can. They say kids say the darndest things well so do greys!!

What guests experience when entering our bird house
judygram replied to Jayd's topic in The GREY Lounge
At least you find out who are bird lovers when they come, I can imagine it might be a little intimidating for the unsure but it paints a pretty picture of Jay and Maggie's domain, would love to be able to see that. -
I have been here now for 3 years and there are no cliques just a wonderful bunch of people who are nuts about their greys and other birds and any one of us are more than willing to help one another when the need arises if we are able to help, just because you didn't get the responses you wanted didn't mean you were being ignored. That being said I think you have been given a couple of good suggestions that might help to remedy your problem with your escape artist, I count myself lucky to not have your problem but you do have one smart grey so let us know if any of the ideas work for you and good luck.
