  1. Tesla is a lovely name and maybe something about his personality will bring a name to mind as that is what works for a lot of us.
  2. Thanks for that site Adina, I am always on the lookout for any new places to get birdie stuff!
  3. That is normal and they all do it from time to time, not a sign of fear.
  4. I think you will like this online site as this is where I purchase Harrison's pellets for Josey but they have other nice items as you saw.
  5. Thanks for sharing that story with us, very heartwarming.
  6. I gave up on the clothes and furniture a long time ago, I find it is easier to just clean up the messes than to try to get my birds to wear a "diaper" but if yours will wear them then by all means try it.
  7. All three of my fids have a distinctive smell, each one different from the other but it is not unpleasant, I love the way they smell especially Josey, I love nothing better than to bury my face in her neck and take a good whiff.
  8. Thats it all right, they think that what we have is better than what they have but yes Josey likes egg too but I limit how much she has and how often
  9. Yes the one good thing about this is he was born this way and he will grow up not knowing he is any different from any other greys and he will adapt to using his leg and foot the best way he can but I am glad to hear you did take him to see another vet, thanks for updating us on him and giving him a home as some would not want an imperfect grey. I think you two will get along just fine.

    sprouting

Yes don't give up on the sprouting, keep offering them for sometimes it takes a while for a new food to catch on, you can also eat some in front of them making them sound like they are the tastiest things you have ever eaten, try it and see what happens.
  11. You have an adorable grey Casey but I can't help but notice you have Shylo outside without a harness on unless there is some netting or something keeping him from taking off, please be careful.
  12. The children will just have to have a relationship with Elvis that is from a little distance until they get older then he might be more accepting but he is just becoming more independent so you will just have to accept that. My sun conure will go to just about anybody but she doesn't care for small children, she used to attack and bite my oldest granddaughter but now that she is a little older she is more accepting of her and will let her pet her now as she is old enough to understand her quick movements and loud voice is what turns her off.
  13. You won't know until you have it checked out.
  14. Exactly, I would want my fids with me in the house where I am spending time, look at it like this, if it is too cool for you to feel comfortable then it will be too cold for them.
  15. I can always count on Dave to tell it like it is and why fool Mother Nature for she did an excellent job with all the different species of birds and the colors they were hatched with is what they were meant to be, man shouldn't be trying to create other colors or combinations.
  16. Thanks Carolina for doing some research for avian vets in Egypt, where there is a will there is a way.
  17. I have lots more pictures on Facebook if you want to see the album and we really did have such a good time and Julie has found her a full time job so she can come over and visit me next year so watch out America! Josey was just fine when I got home, my hubby let her out in the evenings and she will give him kisses, she holds no grudges and was glad to see me.
  18. Brittany, you best contact your avian vet for some advice as you don't want that cut to get infected, preventive is the best medicine and please update us on how Pepper is doing.
  19. I have to agree with Carolina on this one, you need to find an avian vet even if you have to go a long distance for this needs taken care of while he is still a baby, no need having a handicapped bird if it can be helped. You don't say where you live, tell us and maybe one of the members knows of someone in your area or google it to find the closest one. I am so sorry your baby has a problem but please do what you can for this grey, he depends on you.
  20. I knew all along that those little sun conures can pack a punch in such a small body as I have one and she can be ferocious when she wants to, nothing is too big for her to tackle. Thanks for sharing that heartwarming story with us Dan, what a brave little bird and smart too, he managed to capture some skin and blood, maybe enough for dna testing, bet they will think twice before doing that trick again.
  21. I've had that cuppa and don't care for it but no do not give it to your birds, the juices are ok before you take the first sip so as not to transfer any germs. Brits and their cuppas, give me a cup of coffee any day!
  22. Looks like a completely different bird and going to be so gorgeous when grown.
  23. Obviously there are many varieties of grapes and we do have some that are very big like Jay said but even if yours are very tiny limit them for they provide nil nutritional value, better to give veggies and such that at least has some vitamins and nutrients in it, grapes are like candy to most greys.
  24. Poor Pepper, accidents do happen and it will heal, apparently he didn't associate it with you so he doesn't blame you but it will be sore for a few days, just keep an eye on it for swelling and discoloration but if you have any doubts then by all means contact your avian vet for advice.
  25. At 15 weeks they are mostly fully grown and may lose some when they fledge, they do get to their adult weight quickly.
