  1. She looks such a sweetheart, love those kisses.
  2. Thanks for the wonderful update on Mayday and glad you found the cause of his plucking.
  3. Hello Bunchy and welcome to our family. Thank you so much for giving Bunch a new forever home. Just give him lots of attention, allow him some out of cage time and that avian vet visit will let you know if he is healthy or not, he might just need the proper foods. You will find lots of threads here that deal with exactly what you are going thru so be sure to check as many of them out as you can but it looks like you are well on the way to establishing a wonderful relationship with your new family member. Time and lots of patience will be your best friends as you earn his trust and develop that bond. Pictures are always welcomed.
  4. As Dave said bigger is always better but since this particular cage is made for a corner make sure you have the appropriate corner for it.
  5. Hello Kathy and welcome to our family. So glad to hear you want another grey in your life and I look forward to hearing all about this new Tag and pictures please.
  6. This is a part of her past and I doubt she ever will completely let go of it as she is a wild animal as is all our greys, she has had to deal with a lot of difficult situations before she came to you but she has come so far, maybe you could keep a little more distance between her and your face when doing that again, better safe than sorry.
  7. I have to agree, find something she is afraid of and sit it on the blades, when that no longer works find a new scare.
  8. Greys will take to one person a lot of the time and have nothing to do with the rest of the family but he may become more accepting of the others in time. My grey used to only come to me but now she has picked my hubby as her favorite person and he can do things with her that I cannot so things can change, she doesn't totally ignore me but I can see clearly that I am no longer her favored person and that is ok with me. Just take your time and be very patient with him as he settles into his new home. Thank you for giving him a new forever home where he will get the attention and care he needs.
  9. Nancy, did you ever have any doubt!
  10. Thanks for the nice update on Grey Bird, it looks like a wonderful relationship is developing, I look forward to seeing those pictures.
  11. Dee, its been a long time coming but we all knew it would given enough time, you have been a very patient woman and your patience has been rewarded in good measure. Just goes to prove that time heals most wounds and Mis Gil can now enjoy time away from her safety zone. I am so proud of both of you, you for never giving up and Mis Gil for allowing herself to open up more to the possibilities of what she can enjoy from now on.
  12. Hello Speedygo and welcome to our family. Would love to see some pictures of Dixon and Novalee.
  13. I have a sun conure myself and she does the pre flight thing a lot when she wants to come out of her cage and at other times, she is flighted but doesn't come out of her cage unless I take her out and doesn't fly much, only as a last resort. She also does a lot of head bobbing at times, not sure what that means but she can be so funny at times. Oddly as I never knew what sex she was I found out a couple of weeks ago she is indeed a female as she laid 3 eggs, she has been sitting on them and not coming out to spend the evenings on my shoulder but one more week the eggs will magically disappear and all will be forgotten. Conures don't usually spread their tail feathers when sitting.
  14. Your dad has only had this grey for a month and if you didn't know it already everything moves slowly in grey time. That means they are slow to accept anything new or different but all is not lost. Just give him time to get over the invasion of something strange in his cage but greys are notorious for picking favorites. I used to be my grey's favorite for the first 7 or so years of her life then she picked my hubby as her favorite, we still have a good relationship but he can do almost anything with her. I would have your dad continue to interact with Bailey and to not take it personally.
  15. Hello Leo and welcome to our family. Do you have a grey, looking to get a grey or just interested in greys? You have come to the right place if looking for information on greys as the site is loaded with excellent advice. Tell us more about yourself.
  16. Hello Winston Destroyer of Toys and welcome to our family. Winston is adorable and looks as sweet as you say he is but just one word of warning that as he fully settles into his new home some behaviors may make their appearance as you two are going thru the honeymoon phase of the relationship. Most greys love to destroy toys especially wooden ones and I have to echo the other's suggestion of adding a heavy stainless steel bell, I know my grey loves to bang that thing at times, I think they work their frustrations out on it and the noise is a bonus.
  17. I think 1000 grams weight for a grey is way too high and giving "mental medicine" which is drugs is highly questionable, if I were you I would find myself a new avian vet.
  18. Oh I love the fart noise, they do seem to pick their favorites and most we would wish they hadn't. You have only had this grey for a week so be prepared for this to be a long drawn out process to get him to come out willingly but it will happen when he is ready so let him make that decision on his own. He has to come to trust you and that has to be earned so be ready to be as patient with him as he needs, the best things cannot be rushed.
  19. Zoe is adorable, love those dark eyes and she will continue to practice her words until she gets them right, what a doll.
  20. Hello Al and welcome to our family. I love the pictures of Rex, those adorable black eyes of baby greys gets me every time I see them. Most greys love having their neck scratched and will allow you to do that for hours.
  21. What a lovely update on Inara, glad to hear she is doing well and making herself so lovable to the humans who serve her every need, she has trained you well, you are truly blessed.
  22. They are so adorable and I love that little top knot they have, thanks for sharing that video with us.
  23. Happy Belated Hatchday Ana Grey, I bet you were spoiled royally on your special day.
  24. My little tiel Gypsy has done that several times and it is AWESOME to see.
  25. Who wants to be normal, certainly not me.
