  8. Aaah! Now that's even better! I knew you had my back as always. Thanks Judy, you're a sweetheart! {Love-000200BF} BUT! Across the ocean is another beautiful island filled with exotic flowers, birds, and plentiful with delicious fruits to eat,and palm trees everywhere. The real Prince Charming is waiting for you there, and he had a special castle built just for you, and an outdoor aviary for Josey and Sunny!
  9. Judy, I knew you would be the one to wreck my dream! I didn't even get to enjoy it for a little while.......{Feel-bad-00020072}
  10. But your prince charming turns into a frog after that first kiss! And you're castle gets infested with spiders. I wish I lived on a tropical island with many parrots and a gorgeous long haired god to help me take care of them. B)
  11. I second everything everyone here says!! {Communicate-000200D5}
  12. Makena, that is a great idea for people living in conditions that may or even may not warrant it. I might suggest maybe some dried fruits of veggies stored in airtight containers. They do keep well. I hope you never have to use it, but it's wonderful that you are being so prepared for him.
  13. I cover Talon at night. That lets her know it's time for bed. Check out these 2 threads fr more information and advice. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/9183-cover-ing-the-cage.html#9493 http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/9729-getting-enough-sleep.html#9743<br><br>Post edited by: Talon, at: 2007/08/17 14:29

  20. Hi & Welcome to our family. The others give good advice. 3 weeks is not enough time for your young baby to bond with you. You do need to bring the other grey home. Keep things as normal as possible for your birds. I would not let her up onto your head. That will make her feel dominant to you. You have to establish yourself as the dominate one. She is still young, YOU be the one to feed her treats, love her, talk to her, play with her. In time, she will learn to trust you, that happens over a long period of time based on your interactions with her. Be patient, she is young and probably still frightened, the other grey is a comfort to her. As she gets older, and more comfortable, she will bond with you. Best of luck to you, and please keep us updated. :)
  21. Yes, Celery! That's the one I was looking for. Thank you, and Karma for you for finding it!:cheer: :cheer:
  22. Geoff, I have had to give Talon oral antibiotics this past winter. It was the most hated time of the day in this house. It is very hard, but it sounds like you're doing exactly the right thing. Someone on another forum had recommended soaking a few cheerios in the measured amount of medicine, and having him eat it them as you hand feed them to him. I tried it, but Talon never liked cheerios, so it didn't work for me. Just a thought!
  23. I know from experience how loud they can be. They even send the horses off running. I would be afraid of frightening my grey with it. It's very stressful for them when they are frightened. I would be worried about him getting tangled in the ropes and wires of the balloon if he was on a harness as well. Just things to consider.....:dry:
  24. Pryde, I love it when Talon flies to us! She will fly to our shoulder, or onto our hand when we put it up. Sometimes she will fly from her play cage to her playstand in the next room, or into the kitchen onto her swing, if she chooses. She mostly prefers to be carried from once place to the other. She doesn't just free fly in the house. But if we ignore her whistles to us, she will come in search of us. :silly:
  25. What a horrible tragedy. One that I will never forget. Please give my condolences to them. My heart breaks for them.....
