  1. Just a reminder to fill up those guest books in our members profiles. As you can see from looking at the "Welcome Room" we have quite a few new members here, let's make them feel at home by signing their guest books! And if you haven't already, please do your friends as well!! :)

    fruit pot!

    Sorry guys, but I have to chime in here. And this is OFF-TOPIC! Sorry, but I just love the army of off topic guys. They are so cute! Judy, maybe there's one for you in there! :lol: :laugh:
  3. Mr. Spock, Good advice and reminders to all grey owners that have adopted a grey. Thank you for your post. Karma coming your way!

    Palm nuts.

    My in-laws live in Naples, FL. I wonder if we could get some palm nuts while we were there and bring them home. Maybe I could get less than 50 lbs. I'll have to look into it.
  5. Spooky, just give her a section of the cardboard from the box. You can poke it through her cage, and she can still chew on it. It's worth a try, to satisfy her need to chew up the boxes.:silly:
  6. Yup! That was a first for her!!! I swear she did it just because I made that post! :lol: :lol:
  7. Thank you for posting those pictures. It's something I've never really seen that close up before.
  8. Yes, I do put a bowl of water on the bottom of Talon's play cage a few times a week with small rubber ducks in it. She will occasionally give herself a bath that way. But just after I made the previous post, she was looking hot, she had her beak open, and her wings down. So I took the bird mister I have, and misted her with that. Usually she runs all over the cage and I have to chase her to get her wet, but today, she just stood there and enjoyed it! Go figure?! :pinch:
  9. Dan, you're lucky! Talon hates showers, baths. I mist her only about once a week, because she has such a fit over it!! I wish I could do it more. I have tried all the advice and none of it worked for me.
  10. Joe, I'm happy that this will all be over soon for the both of you. I think maybe the surgery is the best thing, I have heard that passing them can be wuite painful.:pinch: Please give her by best, and tell her I hope everything goes painless and quickly, and she's home before you know it. :cheer: I know how comforting this forum can be, as my son had an emergency appendectomy this past June, and the well wishes here really made him and I feel better. It's nice to know so many people care, even tho we've never met. This is the greatest family forum ever!!
  11. Mark, I'm so happy for you!! YAY!!! That's one lucky, loved little budgie! This is what was intended for the two of you, and healthy is the best news !! {Love-000200C5}
  12. She did, but she got confused, and gave the wrong dreams to the wrong people, and everyone was even more unhappy than before. I wish all the people in the world treated each other nicer regardless of their backgrounds, upbringing, thought,likes or dislikes. :cheer:
  13. Yay, on the turnip greens, because my husband grows about 100 acres of them. Now if I can only get him to bring them home......that's a whole different story! :unsure:
  14. {Feel-good-0002006E} That is so funny! (and no I'm not a blonde!)
  15. I'm still working on it.......... {Emotions-0002007E}
  16. Excellent thread Tracy! Wow! You've really brought some very good information here to us. Keep up the good work! Karma for you!! :cheer:
  17. Greygoose, I would love to see a picture if you would post it. Thanks you!
  18. That's great news! Sounds like he's getting comfy and cozy!! Did he talk before? If you work with him, I believe you will get him to talk. It's worth a try, they love to repeat words that have a lot of enthusiasm in them, so use that when you speak to him. Good luck!
  19. Very good thread and information Tracy. Do turnip greens have calcium? Anyone???? :dry:
  20. Hi Oliver & Welcome to our family. The others have given you great advice. It will take time for him to adjust, as greys don't like change. So once he is completely comfortable, and comfortable with you, he should come around. Encourage him as much as you can, by talking to him, and use the same phrases all the time. He will bond with you, and then resume talking, I'm sure! Looking foeward to hearing more and seeing photos!

    Help!!!

    If he only took a lick, it should be okay. I would wet a small washcloth, and get him to chew on it several times, so that the ink will come off his tongue and mouth as much as you can. (I do this with Talon if she gets a hold of a pen) You'll be surprised how much you can get. I would also encourage him to drink, water,juice whatever you can. It will help to water the effects down. He should be fine as long as he didn't get too much. Just watch him for any signs of lack of appetite, or behavior changes, if you see any take him to the vet asap!
  22. OH MY GOD!!! That is so funny!!! {Characters-0002005D}
  23. You got me with that thread title. I thought one of our feathered friends had died. :pinch: That brought a big smile to my face, Thank you!! {Feel-good-0002006E}
