    Not the best news

I'm sorry to hear your news. You and your mom will be in my prayers.
  5. Please go to the photography room for a step by step tutorial on posting photo's! IF you need any more help, just let me know. B)
  6. Dawn is awfully harsh to their skin. I WOULD NOT use it. Also, after they are done with the bath, they will preen, it will be almost impossible to get all the soap residue off their underlying feathers and skin. A call to your avian bet is the best advice you can get.
  7. Sorry, guys, The results are being tallied. Talonsis was sick, and her computer dies. I'll make sure she gets this posted here today!!!

  10. I remember Dave telling us to use organic grapefruit seed extract in the water for humidifiers. It helps with the bacteria I believe....
  11. Thanks Dave, I guess I better get on it then. My birds HATE baths, so I am ashamed to say, they don't get them regularly...I'm hoping to change that. In fact I started today with the parakeets, next the dreaded chasing them around their cage greys!! :woohoo:
  12. So it's not hard to keep clean? I find the hard water stains are hard on it....NO?
  13. Laurie, That is wonderful! You are raising a fine son, one to be very proud of! What an example you have set for him, teaching him to think of others. There are too many selfish people in the world these days, it's nice to see that there are others so giving.
  14. thank you Dan, I have been concerned about the humidity in my house. It is a cold, dry winter, and I have noticed lots of preening, and dust from them. What is holding me back from purchasing a humidifier, is that my house has an open floor plan, and I'm not sure what to buy, and if being so open, it would help. I'd be interested to see what you purchased, and any advise you have. I need to do something, I know they are bothered by the dryness.
  15. Ah yes!! The Q-TIPS!!! They have been Talon's favorite toys in the bathroom for her entire life! I put some in a tall plastic cup, and she has to pull them out 1 at a time, chews the ends off, and throws them on the floor when she is finished. She will spend hours playing with them if I let her. My bathroom floor is always covered in q-tips!
  16. I am so sorry, You both are in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated, and know that we feel you and Lacey are part of our family and we worry about all here.
  17. Definitely infected. He needs to see a vet who will give him antibiotics.
  18. Welcome to our family! I look forward to hearing more!B)

    Acai Juice

Dan, it took me about 2 1/2 weeks before I noticed anything. I actually forgot about it, and then one day it hit me. I had been feeling great! So for me it helps, but the reason I posted here was not to get people to buy it, just sharing how yummy Talon finds it! B)

    Acai Juice

Judy, you can only buy it online from Brig Hart. I have become a distributor to get it cheaper. It is $45 a bottle, and one bottle lasts about a week. Becoming a distributor allows you to buy it at $29 a bottle. It's free to become a distributor for the month of Feb., but after that it is $39. I have found that I feel much better overall. I sleep better. I have an even keel of energy throughout the entire day. No high and lows like with caffeine or sugar. I used to wake up achy in the am. But those aches have gone away. It cleanses your digestive track in your body by detoxifying your system. I just feel great all the time. :woohoo: I have friends who have taken it, and had incredible health benefits. It has been shown to ward off the bad cells that can cause cancer, but I take it because it makes me feel good, and if it will keep me healthy, then why not? I also am not a good eater, I don't get anywhere near the recommended fruits that you should, this way I'm covered! I know it's expensive, but I consider it to be an investment in my health. And Talon goes nuts for it!! She loves the flavor of it!
  21. Hello and Welcome. Yes, as the others have expressed concern, birds and dog play really doesn't mix well....please be careful.

    Acai Juice

For the past 3 months, I have been drinking MonaVie Juice. It is a blend of Acai Berry Juice, and 19 other anti-oxidants. Below is the list of juices in it. Açai (freeze-dried powder) Puree, White Grape, Nashi Pear, Acerola, Pear, Aronia, Purple Grape, Cranberry, Passionfruit, Banana, Apricot, Prune, Kiwi, Blueberry, Bilberry, Camu Camu, Wolfberry, Pomegranate, Lychee Fruit. Also, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Sodium Benzoate. *there are no preservatives, no fillers, no artificial ingredients, no sugars added. All natural juices. For those of you that don't know, I have a timneh and a congo, both about the same age. Talon, my tag, LOVES the juice, and can't get enough of it! She drinks like its the best thing she has ever had. I give her some morning and night. Rikki, my cag, took a couple sips, and decided she doesn't care for it. Has anyone here ever tried it? It is very healthy, and I have seen an incredible change in my health. Just thought I'd share this with you. It seems like it is very healthy for my greys as well. :cheer:
  23. Hi Laurie, Thanks for checking in. It sounds like you are doing great! I'm so proud of you!! I'm going to look at for that book, it sounds good. Update on me: I am almost halfway thru my studying to become a certified fitness trainer. I have finished my certification in CPR/AED, and I have a 2 day seminar coming up in March I have to attend. Oh ya, and I am still going to the gym and running. Anyone else...............
