  1. Kitchen sponge to food dishes. Just sayin'
  2. This video brings happy tears to my eyes. I once had a German Shepherd who suddenly went paralyzed for 6 weeks. 3 vets told me to euthanize him for quality of life reasons. But I wasn't ready to give up on him. I found a 4th veterinarian who agreed to supply me with catheters so that I could empty his bladder. I kept him quiet for 6 weeks, and passively exercised his limbs and changed his position every 2 hours. While I was expressing his bladder one morning, I noticed that his back right food twitched. Needless to say, I was ecstatic!! Little by little his legs began to function again. I ordered him a doggie wheelchair, and he eventually regained COMPLETE use of his hind legs. He lived happily ever after with us for another 6 years. Those wheelchairs are incredible, whether a dog can or cannot regain motor functioning of its hind legs. Thanks for sharing this video, Sterling.
  3. We did the nail method with our Miligold Macaw, and used Kwik Stop immediately afterwards, Shaylor didn't even let out a squawk.
  4. My grey loves to nibble on a piece of shredded chicken. I give it to him sparingly.
  5. Loved these! Makes me ponder what signs I could create for my menagerie of 9!
  6. Please keep us posted! So glad to hear that he's improving.
  7. Yep. I clean their bowls with paper towels as well.
  8. Oh no! Please let us know how everything went at the vets today. Here's hoping that it's nothing serious.
  9. We only use sunflower seeds very sparingly when training our CAG, Maalik. He'll do practically anything for a sunflower seed!
  10. I'm an RN, so I love seeing stuff like that!
  11. We nuke our sponge in the microwave, plus throw it into the dishwasher. I'd love to see your petri dish images!
  12. Maalik sneezes, coughs, hocks and burps, but doesn't fart...yet! It's just a matter of time with 3 boys in the house!
  13. Why is it that Greys get themselves fixated on the worst sounds they could ever add to their repertoire!? Maalik has now added the sound of hacking something up right before one would spit. My son always makes that sound right before he spits out his toothpaste, and now Maalik does it over and over and over... I was on the phone yesterday when he decided to make that 'lovely' sound, to which the person on the other end said, 'Ew! What was that? Gross!' Thanks, Maalik.
  14. All 9 of my fids are flighted, but would imagine that their little psyches would be jolted if they could no longer engage in what made them happy.
  15. Maalik was listening intently to Alfie's vocalizations, and my duskies were answering back to some of his calls. So cute!
  16. Poor baby was completely stressed out from her experience. Glad she's doing better now.
  17. Aww, how sweet. And look how they match the color of the pink bucket. Their crops are so full that they look like they're going to explode at any moment! The one in the back looks like he's smiling.
  18. There's a huge thread posted on another forum where people have uploaded countless pictures of the most atrocious bird cages that are up for sale. Just makes you think about the deplorable conditions under which so many birds are forced to live. Makes me very sad.
  19. So glad to hear that he's doing better today! I don't think you over-reacted at all. You are taking amazing care of your precious baby!
  20. Oh no! I hope your baby is going to be okay. Were you able to find a vet to take him in to today? Please let us know how he's doing.
  21. I'd purchased a Bissell Cleanview Deluxe after reading all the positive reviews on it. Unfortunately I didn't have the same positive experience with it. It didn't suck anything up unless I had the tools pointed directly over and around the stuff I was trying to suck up. The tools were a joke. Now I'm now looking for a better one as well.
  22. Harley chortles, and also makes a bubble/pop pop pop sound when he's really happy.
  23. So glad that Sully's feeling better now.
