  1. Oh, no...my heart aches for you. I can only imagine what you've gone through, both with losing Caesar and your current loss. I'm SO sorry.
  2. Such a cute little fluff ball! There's nothing wrong with kissing such a cute little hunk of love! And no, it's not disgusting.
  3. Very important information, especially since I was planning to place our new Macaw baby's cage next to my grey's. I thank you!
  4. So exciting! We should be getting our little Miligold Macaw around the same time that you'll be bringing home yours! He's still on 3 hand feedings a day, so it'll probably be awhile. Congratulations! I know exactly how you're feeling right now! :-)
  5. Here's my son holding our new baby! He's still on 3 feedings, so it's going to be quite awhile before we'll be able to bring him home. Isn't he gorgeous?
  6. <<<<Oh, Mrs. SterlingSL...>>>> HaHa!
  7. You and your wife will need to go on a vacation to San Diego some time next year, right????
  8. @SterlingSL, well that's a grey for you! Always striving to be king/queen of the castle! I'll probably have lots of questions as I go through building the aviary, which will probably be after the first of the year. My husband and I are both not handy people, so this ought to be an interesting project for us to tackle. That makes 9 fids, and DONE! And no, we haven't come up with a name yet.
  9. Well, I did it! I just put a deposit down on a 3.5 month old Miligold Macaw! My husband and I both immediately fell in love with him, and we can't wait to bring him home! Hopefully he'll wean himself soon. Now my fid family is complete! Next project: building an aviary for my birds to enjoy, just like the one that Sterling built. I'll take pictures of him during my next visit. I'm SO excited!
  10. Amazing work, Sterling! Can I borrow you next to help us build ours? :-) GreycieMae has a smile on her face. And wow! I could never put my caique anywhere within the same vicinity as my other fids without him going postal on them.
  11. Welcome to the forum! Bindi sounds like a phenomenal CAG! I, too, am not a fan of clipping. I have 4 German Shepherds that I keep separated from my 8 fids whenever they're out. We put up a gate up across our dining/kitchen area, and have hung a curtain rod across the top of it. Whenever they're out, all we do is close the curtain and gate, and voila! No intermingling! You might want to try something like that so that Bindi can continue to enjoy soaring. Looking forward to hearing more about Bindi. Pictures soon! :-)
  12. Looks like he's already sampled the corner of that door. Num! Num!
  13. No way!!! When I searched for them online, there's no mention of them being available! This is great news! Did you happen to notice the price?
  14. I wish that Costco still sold those carports. It's very difficult to locate a carport manufacturer that has thick enough poles. Next year I plan to build an aviary for my babies. After all, they deserve it!
  15. I love what you've done! I, too, would like to build an aviary off my window. Been thinking about it for quite awhile now. Unlike you, I don't have any talented family members who could help me build something like that. For now, I can only dream about having one for my fids some day.
  16. Great work, Sterling! GreycieMae is going to love her new digs!
  17. My Panama Amazon doesn't squeal, but does make 'pirate bird' sounds. I can envision him in a supporting role as Johnny Depp's parrot companion. His laugh is ridiculously pirate-like, as is his voice in general. One day I'm going to have to video tape him talking and laughing for everyone to hear!
  18. It's difficult to say whether or not it's related to diet? What does he eat? Did the vet do any blood work? Have you changed anything within her environment that could lead towards her feeling stressed? Is she clipped? I know that some greys become stressed if they aren't able to freely get from point A to point B, which could lead to frustration and plucking.
  19. What a spoiled baby! Tequila looks very happy! Looking forward to reading more about your darling boy!
  20. Look like a lot of birdie fun! Wish I could find the time to make toys like that for my fids.
  21. I've read 5 of her Outlander books, although the first 3 were my favorites.. After the first three I felt that they got bogged down with too much repetitive detail for me. I can't imagine reading all her thick books twice! Haven't seen any of this series yet.
