  1. That's an adorable video of Toby and you! If I did that to my caique's beak, I'd end up with shredded fingers!
  2. Nancy, that's what we did when we received Ziggy, our rehomed Ekki. We had a rehome agreement that listed the amount we paid for him.
  3. I'm so sorry. I know how much it hurts to lose them. We cover up the pain, but every now and then we just have to let it out; to let it go.
  4. I recently picked one up for our new baby miligold Macaw. He loves to be perched there, and he won't budge from it for hours.
  5. Such a little sweetheart! I miss those baby days. Thanks for giving us all a baby grey fix!
  6. Look at all those scary branches!
  7. Parrots crack things open. That's how I took it. Slayv4petz had placed a 'wink' next to the term.
  8. Oh no. If Maalik adds my husband's nose honking to his sneezing vocalizations, I'm doomed!
  9. You're probably on to something here.
  10. Of all the sounds that Maalik could choose to imitate, he had to come up with my husband's sneeze. OMG. When my husband sneezes, you would think that a freight train was roaring past your ears. All day yesterday Maalik practiced and practiced the sound of his sneeze. He doesn't have it down quite yet, but it's just a matter of time.
  11. Did you move him into your room before or after he started plucking his legs?
  12. Mine loves to be plastered against my neck on my shoulder. He prefers my left shoulder for some odd reason. It's funny, seeing that I'm also left handed. If Maalik's eyes pin over something, or if he gets roudy, then he's moved down to my hand or forearm.
  13. Nice work! I Like how you incorporated the white rocks around the base to help keep the critters out. I can't wait to get started on my sunroom/aviary project in 2015. In the meantime, can my fids fly over for a play date some time?
  14. Murfchck, I'm also a member of the 9 flock club. It's going to take me some time to acknowledge all my fids as you have!
  15. Oh, no. Then I'm doomed, especially since I already have to endure the sounds from 4 barking German Shepherds.
  16. In the past 3 weeks, Maalik has suddenly barraged us with a whole new vocabulary set, imitations and sounds. He's 15 months old now. He imitates something from each of our other 7 bird's vocabulary, laughs exactly like our Panama Amazon to the point where I don't know who's laughing, and threading together more word strings. Today he said, 'Play ball!', something we never say, so he must have picked it up from the TV. I'm thoroughly enjoying this! But let's hope that he doesn't pick up our dogs' barking. Then I'll shoot myself!
  17. katana600, you are absolutely correct. He's a Military/Blue & Gold hybrid. Both are known for their more laid back personalities. The red military crest never comes through for this particular hybrid. We visit him 3 times a week. I already feel that he knows us!
  18. I already have first dibs!
  19. AW, LOVE baby CAGS! So sweet! Welcome aboard! Keep those pictures of your new baby coming!
  20. No, I haven't DNA'd him yet. I might research a company and then have them pull a feather for me. We still haven't come up with a name for him yet. Don't know why it's been so difficult for us to come up with the right name for him.
