  1. Oh, no. Then I'm doomed, especially since I already have to endure the sounds from 4 barking German Shepherds.
  2. In the past 3 weeks, Maalik has suddenly barraged us with a whole new vocabulary set, imitations and sounds. He's 15 months old now. He imitates something from each of our other 7 bird's vocabulary, laughs exactly like our Panama Amazon to the point where I don't know who's laughing, and threading together more word strings. Today he said, 'Play ball!', something we never say, so he must have picked it up from the TV. I'm thoroughly enjoying this! But let's hope that he doesn't pick up our dogs' barking. Then I'll shoot myself!
  3. katana600, you are absolutely correct. He's a Military/Blue & Gold hybrid. Both are known for their more laid back personalities. The red military crest never comes through for this particular hybrid. We visit him 3 times a week. I already feel that he knows us!
  4. I already have first dibs!
  5. AW, LOVE baby CAGS! So sweet! Welcome aboard! Keep those pictures of your new baby coming!
  6. No, I haven't DNA'd him yet. I might research a company and then have them pull a feather for me. We still haven't come up with a name for him yet. Don't know why it's been so difficult for us to come up with the right name for him.
  7. I love seeing actual pictures of people that I can then associate with the name. Caesar's Dad, that looks like a classic Les Paul guitar! There's nothing better than the sound of a Les Paul.
  8. Welcome to the forum! Your new girl sounds amazing! What was the reason for the previous owners relinquishing her to you?
  9. Murchck, agreed. I get pinched almost daily by my GCC and duskie conures. It's just what they do. Maalik pinches me from time to time as well. The only fids that have made me bleed is Harley, my Panama Amazon when I was in a hurry to get him back into his cage. And my caique, Walter, as I was removing him from a stranger's arm. Lessons from both well learned.
  10. It's okay. This is all so very raw for you. We completely understand that you're going through an extremely difficult time right now. It's just going to take a lot of time for your heart to heal.
  11. Look how happy GreycieMae is as she beholds her new digs from above! So many fun items in there to help keep them all very busy!
  12. Happy belated hatch day, Talon! May you enjoy many, many more hatch day celebrations in the years to come!
  13. There are a lot of new friends, including myself on this board. For the new folks who don't know about you and Caesar, I'd love to hear about your special guy. He was a stunning one.
  14. Oh, no...my heart aches for you. I can only imagine what you've gone through, both with losing Caesar and your current loss. I'm SO sorry.
  15. Such a cute little fluff ball! There's nothing wrong with kissing such a cute little hunk of love! And no, it's not disgusting.
  16. Very important information, especially since I was planning to place our new Macaw baby's cage next to my grey's. I thank you!
  17. So exciting! We should be getting our little Miligold Macaw around the same time that you'll be bringing home yours! He's still on 3 hand feedings a day, so it'll probably be awhile. Congratulations! I know exactly how you're feeling right now! :-)
  18. Here's my son holding our new baby! He's still on 3 feedings, so it's going to be quite awhile before we'll be able to bring him home. Isn't he gorgeous?
  19. <<<<Oh, Mrs. SterlingSL...>>>> HaHa!
  20. You and your wife will need to go on a vacation to San Diego some time next year, right????
  21. @SterlingSL, well that's a grey for you! Always striving to be king/queen of the castle! I'll probably have lots of questions as I go through building the aviary, which will probably be after the first of the year. My husband and I are both not handy people, so this ought to be an interesting project for us to tackle. That makes 9 fids, and DONE! And no, we haven't come up with a name yet.
  22. Well, I did it! I just put a deposit down on a 3.5 month old Miligold Macaw! My husband and I both immediately fell in love with him, and we can't wait to bring him home! Hopefully he'll wean himself soon. Now my fid family is complete! Next project: building an aviary for my birds to enjoy, just like the one that Sterling built. I'll take pictures of him during my next visit. I'm SO excited!
  23. Amazing work, Sterling! Can I borrow you next to help us build ours? :-) GreycieMae has a smile on her face. And wow! I could never put my caique anywhere within the same vicinity as my other fids without him going postal on them.
