  1. way to go! He's adorable.
  2. I can't wait to find Petland, we're going Sunday to pick up another cage, to separate the girls, we think they're bonding too much:( and if one is out playing the other has to be right beside her.
  3. It's a really nice tree, it looks like he's enjoying it. I guess all African grey's are cautious. It'll be worth it in the end...of course I think it helps having Sammie the curious sunconure, because if the girls see him trying something, they have to do it too.
  4. someone said to give a toothbrush to them, but I read yesterday that the nylon bristles were very dangerous for birds...that the bristles can get stuck in the crop and cause serious infection/complications...
  5. I agree Monique, very good points...
  6. Linus where did you find it? online? I've been searching any help would be appreciated.
  7. WOW....I guess no matter how much we paid, The babies are worth it at any price... I was surprised that we are so spread out, I was looking for a bird club in Pennsylvania, or West Virginia, but there is no such thing that I can find. If anyone knows of one please let me know. I asked my vet if there were any vaccines and she said she advises not to get the birds vaccinated...any ideas why not?
  8. I will, I hope they don't have "withdrawl" from being separated... Your right Monique, they are hilarous! This morning I had Sesame Street on, and Izzy and Gabby were making some pretty funny and new noises...I started watching the tv and Bert was doing this episode of how does the telephone, car, cat sound, here the girls were trying to mimic Bert...I was laughing so hard and enjoying the fun, I didn't want to come to work today..but I guess if they want toys, I've got to work.

good point Monique..body language is very important...
  10. Can I ask where everyone is from? I'd like to know how the price of babies, and breeders differ from state to state or country to country...I'm from around Pittsburgh PA, and I've seen CAG's price range from 850-1200 dollars...Is this a norm?
  11. I totally disagree, he is an African Grey CHILD...if he's not making a mess or "destroying" things, I'd be worried. They love to shred stuff, does you grey have toys to play with...I agree with Monique get a play stand and put a plastic mat down and then give him stuff to tear up, rip up and eat....I had given my babies a ring box lastnight, they played on the floor fighting over it, running with the lid, and putting holes in it...anything they can shred or tear is a great toy.
  12. Thanks for the advice...after lastnight, we're going this weekend to purchase a separate cage...My husband went to get Gabby out of their cage and Izzy ran over and bit him,(drew blood)...needless to say he was upset. Of course I told him it was because he had been smoking and they HATE that smell...ha ha ha (he smokes on the golf course) I think we just need to separate them so they will love US more than EACHOTHER

    Bitting

I forgot to mention, she has not bitten me since I brought her (Izzy) home...I think its just a trust issue, and also (blaming my husband) that he always goes over to Gabby first, and I think Izzy is a little jealous too.

    Bitting

my husband came home lastnight and tried to get Gabby out of the cage, Gabby is "his" snuggle bug, well I guess Izzy ran over and BIT him on the thumb and drew blood...needless to say my husband was upset...and we're buying another cage to separate the sisters, so they can want and need us MORE and eachother LESS..
  15. the website was great, prices great....looks like the babies are getting a new gym...thanks!
  16. I checked ebay, but shipping and handling is outrageous....
  17. sounds like its working... my sunconure always works his way down into my blouse, he's the cuddle bug of the bunch at this time...i can't imagine having a 12 inch bird doing this...oh my
  18. Judy, Judy, Judy,,,,,,where are you? how's the baby?????
  19. i was thinking that too, but am afraid of the safety of trees and the bugs in the branches.
  20. i wonder if we keep them separated while we're home and then when we are at work or to sleep keep them together..
  21. thats what the vet said 4mo's is too old.
  22. They're girls...sisters actually from the same clutch.
  23. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY WEBSITES FOR MANZANITA PLAYGYMS...WHY IN THE WORLD IS THIS SO EXPENSIVE?
  24. I took Izzy (Gabby's sister) to the vet on Saturday, and the vet said that we should keep them in separate cages. These babies have been together since hatching...We brought Gabby home on the 15th of April and Izzy came home on the 22nd...they've been in the same cage since. The vet said that they won't bond to us but with eachother, if we don't separate them. what do you think?
  25. The CAG's are four months old, The vet said they were too old to band....and to see if we can tell them apart from attitude/or the way they act...
