well, CeasarsDad, it is addicting, you get involved in the "lives" of the Sims people, you create the families, build the houses, communities, and then you make the characters do what you want them to do...there is no nudity or anything like that but your Sims can "make babies, get pregnant and the bellies grow," my 13 yr old likes this game also, but the time is limited on the computer.
-
There is some really nice people here, Its a great site to get some info and talk about the babies. :silly: I'm trying to make my own glass beads to use in my jewelry designs but besides this and my family, I don't have much time for anything else, My daughter has a computer game called THE SIMS2, I've tried that but its not much of a game, you build houses and have families that you have to "play" with. But give me a torch and some glass rods and I'm in heaven.

He is so cute! Thats great that he's a cuddle bug.
-
Okay I feel old...Where do you find time to "play"?
-
Hi CeasarsDad, Thats what I would guess this is for, anything and everything
-
Both Izzy and Gabby want kisses (mouth to mouth), which is fine, I try to keep just lip to beak but Gabby loves my husband, and will actually try to pry his lips open. Sammie our SunConure loves kisses too, he's just more persistant with "french kisses"...

Christina I don't agree w/ CeasarsDad,(please don't take offense-its just an opinion) I think Bart sounds like with TLC, patience and discipline he could make a WONDERFUL family member! 1st I would have taken him to a neutral room in the house maybe where he had only been a few times even, not near his cage, because even my birds, when they don't want to come down, will grab my finger or hand not to hurt or draw blood but just to say this is MY HOME, or I'm not going inside this thing.also this is the first time he's met you so he was probably scared, i nerveous around new people too, haha..I think if you decide to get Bart, he might do better once at your home, after knowing that your going to love him and care for him and play with him...and let him know that your not going to give up on him. 7yrs old is still very young when you consider that they can out live us humans. Just to let you know even babies require alot of time and money...maybe even more than an older bird....Good luck no matter what choice you make, let us know please....

my vet warned me about letting our cats and dogs with our birds....she said she has had to stitch up more cats and dogs from bird bites than she can count...After being bitten I hope that never happens to anyone or anything....OUCH!!!

The Members Photography Thread Part 1
MARIR replied to CeasarsDad's topic in Photography & Video Room
Talon those are great pic's, the one without the flash kind of looks like he's trying to sneak up on you....the one with his foot in the air, (don't take this personal but I think he's giving you "the bird" ha ha ha ..sorry my sick sense of humor is up and at em this am...Happy Friday! -
Hi Talon! This place and PEOPLE are great!
-
you people are so smart, i love this forum...

For a couple of days now, they're personalities are really taking shape even though Ms. Izzy bit me lastnight, but I think it was because we had company and she was stressed at having this big tall bald man in the house, and he kept talking to her...this morning she was in a much better mood, but boy did it hurt.( plus it kinda bruised my heart that she bit me in the first place-1st time for everything) Gabby has a little area where she has some baby feathers that are ruffled and as of yet that is the best way to tell them apart...I think they actually get upset when I mix them up! At least I haven't called them by our dogs names yet, with my old age, you just never know.
-
Wow Caesarsdad, they are GREAT pic's! Photographing the "babies" has become addicting...and I've only got a digital camera...Your baby is beautiful!
-
dumfatnhappy...please tell me you made the "seagulls exploding" up ?!?!
-
She's so beautiful...wow look at the beak! She is very nice Norahnic237...very nice indeed...Congrats.:cheer:

They're hilarious....we're still in one cage but going Saturday to get another and maybe a play stand too. This weekend we noticed that Gabby prefers my husband to me and Izzy prefers me over my husband, we've been trying to switch by playing with each of them, but they run to each of us and gurgle...

Hi Christina, I don't know about questions, I'd pay alot of attention to details, such as home conditions, cage conditions, are they children and pets in home? Where has the birds cage been located? When was the bird at the vets last? Why is she getting rid of him? Watch how she handles him also. Is this the 1st owner of the bird? Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Okay after reading this forum I am HUNGRY!!! Rhubarb is kind of like celery but reddish/purple...tart... I also heard that mushrooms and onions are poisonous and seeds and pits are also poisonous.

Take it slow, especially since your baby has been your coworker for so long. It might take a while to even get him to go in the cage. As for leaving him alone at home, I would personally start putting him in the cage when you are there and leaving the door open, if he takes to the cage, then try to close the door, leave it closed for a little while and go about your daily chores, when walking past say oh what a good boy, talk to him and then every so often let him out and put him back in...offering a treat once in a while.....after a few hours see what happens if you go into another room or go outside for 15-20minutes and come back in and talk to him and take him out praising him...play for a while and then put him back in for 1hr or so see how he does...it'll take some time, as long as he's got some different toys and food and water and also leave a radio or tv on...(we leave noogin on (with Dora the Explorer Sesame Street on they seem to like Sesame Street more) He'll be fine but just be patient and take it slow. Maybe even once in a while take him to work if you can.

Good advice Monique! Also make sure there are no bugs, and no fungus...
-
Harrison is a great name...congrat's on the baby.

Hi! I too have experienced this with our CAG's feet warm and cold...and it seems like when Izzy's is cold Gabby's are warm...or viceversa....but I think as long as they aren't "panting" don't worry about over heating. Gabby will sit with her feathers ruffled perched on one foot, sleeping. I was worried about the ruffled feathers but the vet said not to worry with the CAG's unless they're not active..then she would need to be seen. I think the birds are WORSE than children, at least they can tell us when they're sick....

We're going on Saturday to get another cage to separate the girls. I was off from work Thursday and Friday and I started noticing that they're acting like two peas in a pod, where one goes the other goes, what one does the other does, and if I have one out the other stands on the play stand and jumps off and runs over to me...if she's in the cage then they stand there "babbling" at eachother, and does not pay attention to what I'm doing.
