  1. thanks like I just said to my friend, its bad enough you gotta get hit once with a storm but now they are firing up again and getting ready to hit the same areas.... I hate that!
  2. Oh Im prepared for sure thankfully they seem to be coming ALL around us but missing us so I am not complaining. I hope you are safe Jeff! I saw OKC got slammed with a huge tornado!
  3. do the birds know when bad weather is happening? Yanno how they say like horses will spook easily (granted they are outside) but when I had my horse ohhh she knew when it was gonna storm... are birds the same way? Marco's been a bit quiet today but seemingly very alert (course the wind is just whipping it up and making lotta noises) .... just wondering Ive got bags packed with food in for ALL animals and just filled up some empty 2liters with some fresh water they are cleaning out the storm cellar right now and getting it all packed with flashlights n stuff. I hate that it will continue the bad weather thru the dark of the night ... that is the worst!
  4. the storms are rapidly growing and changing ... I just pray we stay outta the path of them.... the news has been on the weather for the last 2 hours ugh we have some nasty winds right now
  5. Im so very worried I will get these ideas ready today waiting for 4pm to hit I realllllllly hate bad weather ...
  6. I am no expert that is for sure, but I believe you are totally correct in the thought of a breeding pair of greys are NOT pets for the house. I hope you find all the answers you are looking for.
  7. i ordered my harness and its being shipped ! i cant waittttt to get her into the sunlight! man its gonna be amazing
  8. awww what fun pics ty for sharing !
  9. I am blown away and at a loss for words I am so very sorry and I hope you are able to get Archie back very soon
  10. welcome home amy i hope you have as much fun w/ your new baby as I have with mine who I brought home a week ago there is LOTS to learn that is for sure
  11. oh ok duely noted thanks for the heads up !!!!!!
  12. Marco hasnt been "that" messy nothing I cant handle so far LMAO as I am typing this a huge piece of apple just came flying by HAHAHAH .... but yes a routine is much needed! We are getting it down pat here I agree I agree they are worth it
  13. that is so funny Marco takes the paper from her play top in her mouth and throws it on the ground   so Im always picking it up and telling her this needs to stay up here she just looks at me lol
  14. Today Marks Marco's FIRST WEEK HOME !!!!!!!!! IMO... She has adjusted beautifully and even in the short week shes been home shes way adjusted to being handled by more then just me (thankfully) She might grumble a bit, but she has gone to hubby and my boys equally when asked! She nips at them slightly but not to hurt I think more in protest so I have them telling her no bite ... Its slow but its going. Course as far as her and me ... we are thick as thieves! She likes to cuddle at nite before bedtime on my upper chest. She grooms my hair sometimes and then once I hear the beak chatter I know shes ready for bed! She hasnt been moody if we leave the tv on or if the dogs barking wake her so I think she is TOTALLY adjusting well. We are still getting to know the fresh things that she likes but if all else fails she is an APPLE freak !!!!! lol. So far Ive seen her really take to broccoli, corn, and apples. Shes tried pnb and almond butter, not sure how she feels about that. She likes banana and coconutand course she loves her nuts Im so happy to have her home I think shes been an awesome addition to our family! She gets vocal in the mornings when you first get up and take her out oh and she likes her baths I was able to soak her yesterday just fine. YEAH!!! She's flown a bit when she wants to usually from a perch to where Im at, tho she did make it thru the living room and landed in the kitchen the other day  She realllly seems happy! we have lots of fun with her. and each day i think shes experiencing more and trying more and becoming a wee bit braver!
  15. Her weight fluctuates from 395 to 405 depending on what time of day she is being weighed
  16. I am careful to make sure the ceiling fan is OFF while she is out indeed.
  17. I dont want to start any trouble here and I know the whole debate about to clip or not to clip "ruffles peoples feathers" however.... ALL 5 baby greys that all just went home last weekend were all clipped, I dont believe Marco is any worse for the wear and she is 4 months old. She flies across the room mid-level but doesnt get ontop of my cabinets (which I only to much prefer!!) nor does she get atop of my curtain rods. She stays on her cage playtop and has the ability to fly room to room and land on the lower level items in my house. Being that I have ceiling fans as well I think this was a good thing to do to protect my baby and be a responsible pet owner to the best of my ability No disrespect, just IMO.
  18. well ... marco was hatched Dec 23rd 2011 .... and I brought her home april 7th 2012
  19. Thanks Doug I kinda thought so, but thought Id check to be sure
  20. So heres another question ........ let me ask ......... is she about as big as shes going to get at 4months? What is considered "full grown" ?
  21. OMG !!!!! lol I never factored in the gas aspect ... c'mon I live w/3 boyz <insert pukey face> that is one of their favorite games as it is LMAO I dont need the dogs playing along too
  22. WOW WOW WOW her eye is already lightened? Marco's are still really dark .... beautiful pic
  23. I play-grab Marcos beak and say "gotchur beak" but ... thats the only time Ive done that... shes been pretty good since coming home only 1 bite to my youngest and that was his first attempt to hold her. I tried to assure him that she just doesnt know him yet and to not give up ... we'll see.
