welcome My baby just got home and I definately made me a list of things I needed/wanted before she got home and you have covered alot of it but I also got a bird scale so I could keep an eye on her weight. Course as it got close to time to bring her home I started to stock up a bit on pellets and seeds since the pet store is pretty far away. I try to keep enough on hand for 3mo. But I have found they are wasteful (at best) alot of the time so seems Marco loves to put her head in the bowl and just shake it back n forth sending seed flyin everywhere lol :rolleyes:

My cats are outdoor cats so I worry IF the one sneaks in the other doesnt even attempt to come in so I am extra careful and always on high alert is someone comes in or out of my house. for the safety sake of both the animals my outdoor cats are major hunters ....

smiles well its still very new so I am not comfortable at ALL leaving them alone, he wouldnt hurt her on purpose but if he stepped on her or laid on her .. it wouldnt be bad ... hes a moose like 100 pounds well Im just 2 weeks into this so I hope at 6 years I have that as well LMAO yeah I hear its not the most pleasant lol .... lets hope it passes quickly lol tho, my kids are 18 n 17 and I think still in it HAHAHAHAHAH :rolleyes:

well he is NEVER unsupervised when Marco is out because my boys said the same thing! Hence me being right there infront of the both of them. ty I didnt know that but I did take the toy away from the dog and will not allow the parrot to play with it.

aww I dont think you are doing anything wrong. I know there are times that Marco is more then content and happy to just CHILL and I want her to be independant and not destructive LOL Ive heard of some ppl putting like a phone book thru the bars for their birds to tear up .. might be a thought if the paper is softer for him. just an idea and I know Marco lovesssssss straws! you are doing a great job

I couldnt go in there without wanting to take everyone of them home! I cant believe they have no water!!!!!!! I noticed a few at the end that did but so many didnt ... Heartbreaking

True, you hear 8 miles away moving 60 mph and gage in your head "how long before its here" the sirens usually dont go off till its 5 or less (i thought) which brings you to an even shorter time frame to get prepared but truly, I dont think I had time to panic "persay" I was moving like a machine, going thru the things in my head that I had to do. Im happy to report come Wednesday, my storm shelter (at home) will be completely fixed and stocked with blankets in those vac pacs, extra sweat shirts and shoes, water, flashlights, chairs and the radio and course non perishable food items heck maybe I should even put an ax or something down there incase something falls on the door so we can get out! I will have to think this totally thru and make a list! Im really excited that hubby is FINALLY seeing the real need to get off his butt n do it! I will feel ALOT more protected thats for sure not to have to get in my truck and drive to a shelter. I am only so thankful it ALL went well :D

im so glad that DJ is eating well for you finally! Marco loves her fresh vegies, Im making her little corn kabobs tonite lol for dinner! this morning was oatmeal for the first time with pepper flakes, green peppers, carrots, chopped walnuts and apple and she had that ALL over her beak!

Thanks so much... truly I thought by 1am it was over with. We had dodged 2 storms thru out the night one passed to our north and one passed to our south by just a few miles, but we didnt get 1 drop of rain. Then about midnight or so, the rain band came at us again but like I said it was just being classified a "sevre thunderstorm" So, I resigned to the fact that perhaps it was safe to close my eyes. I had literally been glued to the tv for 14 hours of non stop weather from our local station. Im sure glad I was awake. Had the siren woke me from a dead sleep I would have prolly of been MORE panic'd. I found that the sense of panic was at its worst once we lost TV signal and radio. Then you were just sitting there waiting like a game of hide n seek in the dark. ITS SCAREY! They reported over 90 tornados (just in KS) yesterday and some of the damage is just terrible but no on that I have heard in KS was hurt. I did hear OK had the deaths It never ceases to amaze me that less then 12 hours ago the weather was just hideous and today there isnt a cloud in the sky bright blue and sunny .... go figure. But ty for your prayers and your concerns and course as always your GOOD GOOD advice everyone! {{{HUGS}}}

WOWZERS .... after watching the news for 14 hours and justttttt about to close my eyes and get some sleep after everything was downgraded to just sevre thunderstorms, the last thing that caught my eye was the meterologist saying "wait a minute" I think a tornado warning was just issued and low n behold .. it was 8 miles from MY TOWN !!!!!!! 1am in the morning .... what a glorious hour of the morning to be running from a tornado! Needless to say, I woke up everyone in the house, everyone took a dog, I put marco in her carrier she was scared but she did well she didnt run or anything from me, course I didnt give her much time it was more like open cage and SNATCH lol... i put her in her carrier put a blanket over it and we drove down the street to the storm cellar where we hung out with our neighbor for atleast 30 min before emerging .... it was HORRIBLE but ty GOD the tornado didnt do any damage here and we are all fine !!! Im so glad tho, that we all remained calm and I had EVERYTHING lined out at the door just waiting (if needed) to be used and boy oh boy was it NEEDED. You have usually less then a few minutes to respond to a tornado siren, the tornado was 8miles from us moving 60mph so we had a window of a few minutes to get to shelter! Marco appears non worse for the ware. I kept her in the cage while underground and kept the towel over her but checked on her often and talked to her to try to calm her once we got home and took her out i gave her lotta love and talked quietly to her and about 30 minutes she was back to being sleepy so I put her back in her cage, this morning shes back to pigging out on her breakfast !!!!!!!!! we tried oatmeal today she seems to really like it! soooo today we are going to do some house work and it will be the first time little missy will come upstairs with me while I hang up 3 baskets full of clothes! thanks for all the suggestions and tips for emergencies like last nite it sure did help
