DAY 2 went much more smoothly today with the training, the harness wearing, the fear of being outside. Was less and less She even flew twice !!!!!! im thrilled

I am not sure about "other ways" to do it other then the feather ... I dont think its a painful process but prehaps the DR can do it other ways! we are so glad to have you here ... I like you also thought I had a boy :rolleyes: hence the name MARCO LOL .. but alas .. her DNA says girl and Im ok with that too!

well marco is bout 395g ... so it really doesnt seem to fit round the neck shoulders thats where she liked to chew on it and then somehow she get her lil food wedged in the belt part grrrr but ... im definately not gonna give up ... not to mention the birds outside WAY gave her a complex lol

smiles thanks ... it wasnt so much that she was chewin on it that bothered me .. she was able to get her lil foot up there and it would knock herself off balance and then when id have to try and get her foot out shed bite me in frustration. it wasnt LOOSE by anymeans I dont know how she kept doing it lol ... but we'll try again tomorrow and hopefully she'll start realizing shes outside and its FUN time to play maybe I'll take some toys next time

I am having my neighbor build me one I cant wait .... I can totally vouche for that .... I was so excited to have the harness .... took her out a slight breeze ... put her in the grass and tween the newness of the harness, the sounds, the wind, the feel of the grass ... she did NOT like it so I didnt want to stress her out too much so we came in within 10 min. She didnt try to fly she was more annoyed by the harness. We'll try again tomorrow. I bought a medium I am sure the small would of been TOOO small and the large TOOO large but the medium didnt fit REALLY well over her "shoulder" area. She was able to get her beak up under it and chew on it. but least we tried and she came in and took a nap and now shes much better! good Idea! Im going to use the "back" door. Shes never tried to fly towards the door but she does like lookin out the window behind the couch altho if someone walks up to it she freaks out lol .... :rolleyes:

WOWZERS beans are a huge success !!!!!!!!!!!!!! do birds get gas? :confused: she is wayyy scarfing them down and I just boiled them with water, some green peppers, small amount of shredded chicken and pepper flakes! YEAH!

lol that is but isnt funny cuz I know HOW true it is..... turbo doesnt know quite what to think about Marco yet but he sure gets jealous something AWFUL !!!!!! and hes definately meant NO harm to her at all and the newness is starting to wear off where everyone knows shes sposed to be here now and hes even figured out if he lay under her tree stand he'll get her little treats she flings down to the ground!

I dont have probably the exact answer but we did the same thing for Marco. I bought 2 coconuts for "toys" but we dug the meat out and refridged it right away she REALLY liked it so Id imagine for a few hours it would be ok .... however ... to me it got really slimey and gross and I threw it out within a week from the fridge !!! BUT the toys are SOOOO stinking cool !!!!we had to let it dry in the sun for atleast a week!

I have tried several several times to get Marco to enjoy PNB ... she will try it then shake her beak and thats all she wrote wont touch it again. Should I continue to TRY to give it to her? Will her taste pallet change any? I even tried the almond butter (much more expensive) and she dont want none of it. I havent tried a peanut but she does eat the whole almonds ...

i dont think there is any nutritional value to it at all for birds or humans ... but as a treat we probably have maybe 3 watermellons all summer long so that will go on the list of safe foods! YEAH!

so I found a "bean mix" that has 14 beans in it .. to include great northern pinto barley small red pink beans black beans lite red kidneys large limas baby limas blackeyes small whites garbanzo navy (pea) green split whole green yellow split whole yellow lentils So with that all said .... is it safe and uhm what do I do with it NOW ?! boil it till they are soft ?
