  1. Bacon and Cocoa out in the sun. http://s942.photobucket.com/user/raypogo/media/100_0083_zpsc9be82fa.mp4.html It worked, Thanks Dee. Bacon and Cocoa are my two Dachshunds. Bacon is a standard black and tan male short hair and Cocoa is brindle brown female soft long hair. They though I was going to make them go inside.
  2. Welcome Spiersy to the grey forum. Steve said it all and said it well. You have started on a great lifetime adventure, enjoy.
  3. There will always be somebody trying to get your last dollar.
  4. May I be the 4th. to wish you a happy anniversary. Just to let you know that you would be on my list of members that welcomed me when I hit my 5 years.
  5. Oh, I so enjoy reading about Miss Gilbert and her new antics. If you look around our house you can see signs of our Miss Corky`s carpenter work, and we live in a log cabin so she has been very busy. May Miss Gilbert get to that point too, with her autographs all over your house. Welcome to the real world of greys. You may want to go back. Nothing is safe.
  6. There are three excepted methods of distraction. 1. Earthquake method. 2. The drop method. 3. The Roll method Each woks very well when used properly. {PROPERLY} The earthquake and drop method are all most the same. You drop your arm suddenly or move it up and down like an earthquake and just enough to take them off balance. Just don`t over do it, You just want to distract and not shake your bird to the point of breaking the trust. The same with the roll, you roll your arm back and forth enough to take them off balance. Again don`t over do it When they stop biting, talk to them and tell them what a good bird they are. I like the two bite method. Say no bite once, if they don`t stop than say no bite again and at the same time use one of the methods and when they let go tell them good bird for not biting. Again don`t over do it. Don`t shake them to hard or over roll your arm to fast or hard.
  7. With Cricket and Corky they both know that when they go back to their cage there is something special waiting for them in there cage. When they are out we hide a treat some place in their cage. Some times they see us putting the treat in , but most of the time they don`t, they just know it`s there. When we take them back to their cage it`s fun to watch them go all over their cage to find what we hid, never in the same place and never the some treat. Some times they go back on their own to find it. We put them in and take them out of their cage many times a day. We live in a log home so we can`t let them all the time, they would eat their way through the walls in nothing flat.
  8. A minute with Cricket and a Willie cameo. Going to try this again http://s942.photobucket.com/user/raypogo/media/100_0082_zpsb8be4b7a.mp4.html
  9. My Corky came home at 15 weeks. We were given formula, but Corky wanted no part of it. She was weaned, fully flighted and ready to raise hell.

  13. Grandpa looks happy, and I bet Grandma is also.
  14. Its not unheard of to be a little off balance from time to time. You say she is not plucking so it will even out. If it dose not even out over time than maybe a vet check would be in order.
  15. If your grey is on a good diet, is comfortable feels safe, and gets lots of attention and love from you and is happy than plucking is something you won`t have to worry about. It`s good that you are keeping a look out for the best interest of your companion and ask questions about something if you don`t know.
  16. AAHHHH, Home grown treats. Your good to your grey.

  21. That tiel looked like a female because the lack of yellow on its head. As s rule its the male cockatiel that will talk and sing, but from time to time there have been female cockatiels that will talk. They both can be good singers, but its the male that is known to be a good singer. Almost all of my male tiels talked and most of my females were good singers. I just love those little bags of snot. Little parrot big attitude.
  22. With a grey it`s to each its own.
