  1. Have you tried snoring. Ok, I tried to be funny. I think it`s awesome that he wants to be with you that much, and no mess !!!
  2. Hi SKW I have a congo african grey and a blue fronted amazon and they each are there own parrot. A grey and a amazon are both said not to be good parrots for a first timer, but I have to say I could not give up eather one because they both bring alot of joy into the life of me and my family. You have to decide on what you want in a parrot. They are both are about the same to care for with some defference in diet. They both need a large cage and lots of toys to keep them busy and your time to be with them.
  3. It will take time. Corky and Cricket are out together but they are always supervised and they do tolerate each other. Some times thats the best you can expect.

  7. Hi Rebecca and Amali and welcome to the grey forum. Amali is a good looking TAG and we hope to see and hear more about her.
  8. I have a CAG and a BFA and they have a common ground and they do very well together but always under supervision. Many members have greys and amazons of all kinds in their flock and they find away to make it work.
  9. Hi chadwick and George and welcome to the forum and a welcome to all your other fids. I am going to add you to our list of honored amazons that share a home with a grey. Good to have anouther zon in the amazon room
  10. Cricket is very good when it comes to taking her out of her cage. She will step up from any perch. 99% of the time we will tell her to go to her door perch. We have a perch on her door so she will swing out of the cage and than she can step up. Her quirk is when you say Cricket do you want out she will run and I mean run to her door perch, but first she will stop at her food dish and pick up a food pellet and carry it with her to the door perch. If she is already on the door perch she will run over to her food dish and pick up a pellet and come back to the perch, and than she will throw the pellet at you as if to say here is your treat now let me out.
  11. Happy hatchday Quinn and we hope you have many many many more !!!
  12. Ok I`m back and I will tell you about my special amazon and how she gets my attention. When Cricket came to us it was said she would never be that special bird, that she would just be a prity green bird in a cage. It did not take long for Cricket to prove every one wrong. Our house has a great room that has a kitchen, livering room and dinning room and next to the great room is our family room and Crickets cage is there. Off the family room are the steps that go to the master bedroom and there is a small balcony at the top of the steps. When the wife wants something and I am in the bedroom she will yell from the greay room RAY !! and the obedient husban that I am will yell back WHAT !!. Now my son who is 35 will call my wife MA - MA. Now the stage is set. When Cricket wants my attention she will yell RAY !! And I can`t tell it`s not the wife so I come to the balcony and say what. If she wants the wife she will yell MA !!. If we say Cricket what do you want she will say WHAT !!.
  13. What does your amazon do to get your attention. I will be back later today and tell you about mine. I`m off to work now.
  14. I don`t know if Corky my CAG and Cricket my amazon like each other, but thay seam to have found a common ground that they both can work with. When they are out they are supervised. They will eat off the same plate at the same time with no trouble and will even share from time to time. They have both sat one on each shoulder, but they know the rules. How well they get along is a toss up and will differ from bird to bird.
  15. You have an eye for the best shots !!
  16. This past week my son had a cold and was blowing his nose a lot and clearing his throat of flem (phlegm) Well Corky picked it up and does it all the time and the more we laugh the more she does it. We keep telling that it`s not a nice little girl thing but she just keeps it up and will laugh when she is done. I hope it`s a short winter cold season. Or the little snot picks up something new.
  17. That picture of the cats door and Nilah would make me forget anything she might have done wrong for at least 6 months
  18. If you look up mess in the dictionary you will see a picture of a african grey next to the definition.
  19. Caption WHAT !!! YOU GOT A PROBLEM ???
  20. You have one great looking flock and I am glad every one pulled through the ordeal in fine shape.
  21. Newspaper works also you could get a roll of shelf paper that you can cut to size. Our t-stands we use paper roll towels. When you use paper you just lift the paper out and toss. Quick and easy.
  22. In the past I have had keets, love birds, finchs and doves. I have had cockatiels for 40 years and still have them. I also have Corky my CAG and she will be eleven on Dec. 5 and we have had her from a baby and than there is Cricket my blue front amazon a rehome and she is about 15 years old or so and she has been with us for 3 years. Each of the birds has been a joy to have and I have a love and respect for each and every bird I have ever had. You can learn something from each.
