  1. How scary! I hope he will be ok I've read another story somewhere online if this happening, except it Quik link went all the way through. I believe that person took to bird straight to the vet for them to remove it. Sorry, I can't recall anything else about that story.
  2. When he takes off flying and I'm in his flight path, I will hold up my hand but he never lands on it or me. I need to try and watch some videos on flight training and how to start from the very beginning.
  3. It's ok looks like you got some good info also
  4. Most of the walls in the house are taupe color. He just flies to fast maybe and doesn't turn sharp enough. I was just wondering if other birds still did this, seems he needs more flying time I guess. He doesn't leave his play area/room that often to fly on his own though. He is out of his cage pretty much all day and I also walk with him around the house and he goes with my daughter and I when I give her baths in the evening (he really loves bath time for Sophie for some reason), and if I don't take him he gets pretty mad lol.
  5. Oh, and I can not get the harness on him he does not like me touching him most of the time.
  6. He is 7, I adopted him when he was 2 and he was clipped. I kept him clipped up until I found this forum. And he hits any wall, with or without pictures. I'm sure it's not his vision, I'm guessing it's what some have mentioned, that he never properly learned to fly.
  7. Does anyone else's flighted greys still fly into walls? Babalu has been flighted for a couple years now, he doesn't fly that often, only when he gets scared or he takes a lap around the room. But sometimes he does fly for whatever reason, and he will fly straight into a wall.
  8. I haven't made a play stand with PVC, but I have made a couple shower perches a table stand and a large stand that hold an atom or a boing, and I didn't use anything. They fit together pretty tight.

    outside time

I love the one of Sherman playing with the lock
  10. I have no experience with this, sorry. Is the vet a certified avian vet? Sounds like a lot to me for a baby also, sometimes our gut feelings are right. I've never heard of worms in parrots, I'm no vet or a parrot expert, I just have one parrot but I do read a lot one forums and online. I've heard of worms in chickens though. I wonder why he thinks Luna has worms? Did he tell you?
  11. Thanks for the suggestion! I never would have thought of that lol, something so simple as to turning it upside down. Babalu is usually pretty good when out, he is a rather calm/boring guy haha.
  12. Where do you find the sales on the filters and sticks?
  13. No filters or silver sticks to replace! I got one tonight. I also have the $$$ Air O Swiss ones but you have to replace the filter and little silver stick thing each season. Just thought I would share

    New baby

Poor baby did you witness him picking at the scabs after you brought him home? Can he still eat and drink with that on?
  15. Sorry for your loss. You have received a lot of good advice. I can comment on the air filter question. I have these 3: http://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-50250-S-99-97%25-Round-Purifier/dp/B00007E7RY/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1380085636&sr=1-1 This one is good and easy to clean using a vacuum, but a bit loud, even on the low setting and it put out a lot of air, like a fan... http://www.kenmore.com/kenmore-plasmawave-trade-large-room-air-cleaner/p-03285450000P?prdNo=11&blockNo=11&blockType=G11 This one is the one I currently use where my greys cage is. It has an auto sensor and it is also easy to clean using a vacuum. I don't think I could sleep with this one in my room though, as the motor doesnt idle at the same sound... Does that make sense lol, it goes up and down up and down. But I am a light sleeper. http://www.rabbitair.com/biogs-ultra-quiet-hepa-air-purifier.aspx This one is the most expensive, and the quietest, looks like they are coming out with a new model. I use to use this one but I need to replace the filter and carbon screen thing and just haven't gotten around to buying new ones. This one was the most hastle to clean since you had to rinse the carbon filter out and wait for it to dry. And you also have to turn off the ionizer feature. The air filters that I feel collected the most white dander/dust and down feathers was the Honeywell then the kenmore then the rabbit. The rabbit has a white screen so you probably can't see all the dust like you can on the black screens. They all work well though. Good luck!
  16. They have these for cage doors http://www.amazon.com/Black-DoorSkirt-Newspaper-Under-available/dp/B008NUZUZY
  17. Thanks for everyones feed back, thoughts and opinions. I went ahead and bought it still... So far so good. I made the Sep-Dec chop today.
  18. It took almost 2 months but it sprouted! So happy! I had given up in it and just had the pot sitting outside and it was getting misted by the sprinklers. I thought it was a weed growing but my mom and google confirmed, I have a tree!
  19. Ok, so I have used it 2x to get Babalu when he was not in a good mood and I had to move him. It seems a little slick even with the plastic not being smooth. He was loosing his grip/balance while I was walking. I will put vet wrap on it. It also doesn't seem very stable as a perch, but I haven't used it like that yet so I don't know that for sure.
