  1. I have seen allot of toys being made with keys now. Birds love them for some reason, thanks for the pictures.
  2. That is a cute video, thanks for showing us
  3. I dont mean to sound so uneducated about birds, but molting is different than dead feathers falling out?
  4. You posted faster than me after luvparrots Dave! I was thinking its funny that now I want him to be able to fly and it seems to be taking forever, as when before I was having to clip him more:) or so it seemed.
  5. No, I do not think he is plucking, I was just wondering if that is normal to not have feathers there. Or if it is not normal, then that might be where he is molting and the new feathers have not grown in? But of course if it seems to get worse or spread I will take him to see a vet.
  6. The 3rd up from the bottom on your last post is awesome!
  7. I got better pictures
  8. you can see a tiny bit of the bald spot but when he opens his feathers it is way bigger
  9. not sure if you can tell by this pic... but it is the only one I was able to get, he is done preening now.
  10. So Babalu is still losing big and small feathers, a couple a day. He has now lost only a couple clipped feathers. But I noticed something the other day, when he preens, going from behind under his wings, there are spots on both sides that dont have the regular feathers just the down ones. Is that how it normally is or is it because he is still molting? I tried to get a pick but was to slow and he saw me:) you can only see these spots when he moves his wing down when preening.
  11. He sure does love this! He hangs upside down (which I hardly ever see him do) and fights with the toys and makes a crazy screaming sound! It is so funny to watch.
  12. My reward treat is a safflower seed(s)
  13. Anyone else here watch the show? I love it! So does my husband, because of all the singing mainly, not the drama.
  14. He has not gone to the top yet, I hope it works...
  15. So far he seems to like it! He has been playing with the toys on it for a while now.
  16. I got my hubby to make a ceiling protector for Babalu's new boing/bungee! So far he likes it, yay!
  17. Thanks for the pictures, I almost missed the birds up against the table cloth and the grey clothes:), LOL!
  18. Oh no, I hope he gets better soon
  19. Hope that grey gets better soon
  20. That was so cute, he looks so happy
  21. I also got a kitchen scale from Bed Bath and beyond and I used a 20% off coupon. Babalu would not sit on the flat part though so I weighed a small box then put him on the box!
  22. I am not sure the name of the cage because I bought it off craigslist from a lady, new in box, who bought it from someone in her bird club who had a few at a price she could not refuse. I did not even look at the box to see if there was a name I was just so excited about the cage! She had it put together for us when we got there so I left the box there. I got it for $550 I think, it was a gift from my husband for my bday. The measurements are 36" wide 56" tall (not including the play top) and 26" deep.
  23. like everyone else said I to think you should wait until he comes out on his own and starts to trust you and steps up. We all know now that he knows how to, he just doesn't want to yet. In the mean time you can get a sandy or cement perch that might help with the nails and beak. Or figure out what kind of toys he likes to chew on and give him shelled almonds for the beak. That has worked for us.. From the pictures it doesn't seem like an emergency to get the beak and nails done.. Hope this helps.
