  1. Greyt start and I love getting to share the baby stories and pictures as all our flock arrived as adults.
  2. Our little grey tape recorders-Smokey Joe greeted me this morning when I removed his cover with "Go get in the car". You think he wanted me gone?
  3. A personal view of life with out power and your hands full of kids and critters. Good job!

Leave the egg in the cage until she looses interest, if you remove the egg she will try to keep replacing it which may cause a drop in her calcium levels. You can add more dark leafy greens to her diet for the calcium, lower her protein intake, shorten her daylight length and give her more busy work.
  5. Pookie CAG is some what tolerant of the other birds but will chase them away as well. Whisper big CAG is aggressive with all the other birds and has no fear of even our big Umbie boy who is equally aggressive. Smartee Pants a very small TAG will chase other Greys and seem to be very in charge. Smokey Joe CAG big boy has to be separate due to aggression, he is not flighted due to a very bad wing clip before he arrived here. The others are all flighted Whisper can only come out when very supervises (jealousy issues) Pookie can be out with the others with very few problems-being flighted she just removes herself from any problems. Smartee flies to other cages and takes over kicking the former resident out. Fred our Elanora Too gets along with the crowd no interaction between him and our Umbie allowed and Smartee or Joe can chase him off. Whisper goes for his toes if he lands on her cage so we try to keep the top covered. It is not easy to be a Too in a Grey household.
  6. Always on the alert, just worry with Winter on it's way more than in Summer .
  7. Good work you are gaining his trust, nice to hear.
  8. I have read that you can "saw" through PVC with fishing line. you are creative and may need to think about supply and demand.
  9. You are one among many here, you fit right in. >:>
  10. Too cute for words, those Sennies have so few inhibitions they are a blast.
  11. I would also ask about any health concerns they have had in the past or a Veterinary reference.
  12. I agree with Dave's assessment, it all began with a chemical irritation or burn in the esophagus. The wheezing is when it becomes irritated or inflamed perhaps due to an inhalant, perhaps food irritates it on the way down or it could be an allergy. The journal may be your best way of getting a handle on the triggers and perhaps a holistic or homeopathic approach might provide some relief. Do keep us informed and we all want Betsy to get better I know this is a scary time for you all.
  13. No fun being cold! Hope you have lots of Hot chocolate and the birds will do well, they are tougher than we think.
  14. Welcome indeed it is always Greyt when someone does the research before taking on a new responsibility. A very rewarding and challenging time ahead for you (also fun).
  15. TAG/CAG Hybrid/2 Description: In this second picture, you can see the TAG/CAG's black beak clearly (top bird) and notice his/her maroonish tail and darker color. He/she is just about the same size, however, as his/her CAG cousin, who is about the same age. Picture Stats: Views: 215 Filesize: 217.42kb Height: 800 Width: 600 Keywords: TAG hybrid Posted by: Billcry at January 31, 2010, 09:05:57 PM
  16. We always ck for a microchip first thing, even the local Humane Society and SPCA routinely ck animals who come in as found or stray.
  17. Yet get a star for extra effort, but I did enjoy the humor of your immediate response.
  18. Congrats Mandy so happy for Pip to have a safe landing with you. I am also housing and can't help loving a very small Grey that was found. Like you leaving the add up just in case, thinking that some one must be heartbroken somewhere.
  19. Hello and a big Welcome, cannot wait to see your new baby and hear about your new adventures.
  20. These little aliens invaders do take over your toys, your life and occasional DNA samples which I believe they send back to the Mother Ship.
  21. Lots of spray baths and add some good fatty acids like red palm oil to his diet or Walnuts. Try to make sure he gets at least an hour of unfiltered sunlight a week and call your Vet if this continues.
  22. Hey we could be looking at a little hybid also, all we can do is watch the Captain develop.
  23. I use coconut milk every time I make birdy bread it adds many good nutrients to the mix. Add it to the dry ingredients and let them soak for a while as I chop the veggies & fruits & nuts.
  24. Have to ask what price range are they in? No I cannot add any more to the flock at home just that need to know.
