Yes, Biscotti would be the jester! I agree, it does take a village & our village here is full of the most awesome residents! I would feel so alone raising Biscotti if I didn't have all the wonderful input & information from our forum. And Dee since we have survived the terrible twos Biscotti and I are settling down into a nice routine. He is still not to happy with bedtime but we are working on that.

Wow Dee, that is amazing!! I so hope that Gilbert enjoys Biscottis silly antics!! Biscotti was hatched June 1st 2009, yes very close to Juno & Kopi in age. He has been a little grey feathered angel ( and occasional devil )in my life, he came to me in 2009 & helped occupy an immense hole in my life that was created in 2008. I am really beginning to believe that the animals ( and people probably too ) who enter our lives are there to either teach us, show us, cause us to think outside the box or fulfill a part of us we don't even realize is lacking. If we can accept these amazing creatures ( all animals ) when they come into our lives and open our minds to see what they are going to "teach" us & accept that they are who/what they are, we will learn so much. I sincerely believe that you understand what I mean, you have been the ultimate "rescue" parent to Gilbert & such a role model/mentor to those bringing in rehomed birds.

She is so sweet!! You are going to have so much fun listening to her learn new stuff. Enjoy!

That would be funny to see! I wonder what she is thinking when she hears him jabbering away.

Like the others, I too have dogs & they are never loose in the same room as Biscotti when he is out of his cage. It is just too easy to have a heartbreaking disaster real quick. When he is in his cage everyone "gets along" ie. the dogs don't worry or bother Biscotti but he does take great joy in ordering them around! Lol. Please keep your babies safe.
-
They must all figure out how to escape at some time! I remember when Biscotti somehow got out of the door way at the top of his cage ( I think they call it a nest box door) Sure is surprising to see them appear when you know you closed them in their cage!
-
I glad you enjoyed the videos Teri!! Biscotti is a very silly boy You are going to have a ton of fun with Virgil, sounds like he is adjusting amazingly quick!! They are awesome little creatures.
-
I'm not sure if it is actually the vegetables he likes or just the words!

Thanks everyone!! Biscotti really is very entertaining, you never know what he is going to say! So glad you guys enjoy him too! Katana I hope Gilbert will enjoy the videos- can't wait to hear a big laugh from him! Luvparrots - it is the BEST swing, seems indestructible ! One of few things ( maybe the only, hummmm ) that I haven't had to replace!

Hey Corky & Cricket- Biscotti here, I'm with you guys on those weird wingless flying things!! My mommybird had some of those things when we had a lot of people in the house for some kind of flock gathering for the person my mommybird calls "dad". Well, she brought some of those things in the house the night before the gathering- they literally scared the crap out of me!! Mommybird saw how scared I was and put them somewhere else but I knew they were still around & she expected me to go to sleep that night knowing they may come out at anytime! I hope I never see those again! Where do you get the thing you call "kitten" ? I may need one of those for future wingless flying intruders!!

You will get used to wearing "very stylish" plain pull over shirts when you have Kenzie out!! Lol, it's just a lot easier But do remember to change when you go to town or you will get some really strange looks!
-
Biscotti is messing around on his swing when he slips & laughs loudly at himself. Someone is having too much fun!!

Darwin is a real cutie!! That is awesome that he took to the harness so fast, wish I had started that right away. Loved the pics, beautiful healthy looking fids!

So sorry that Gryph is being such a rebellious boy. I hope it is something he is just going through & you 2 will work through it. Please do as the others have said & get him off your shoulder. Biscotti always had shoulder privileges until he starting getting cocky & one day he reached around and grabbed just below my eye leaving 2 nasty bloody bite marks. I was lucky he didn't get my eye and it sure was an awakening. They can be so fast and you can not risk a bite to your face. Biscotti is the same age as Gryph ( he turned 3 in June ) and he started his very cocky/independent attitude just before turning 2. Our relationship changed in that he wants to be with me all the time but doesn't want much actual physical contact. He loves his scritches in the evening, but I have to keep it short or he will bite. He steps up good most of the time but wont hesitate to bite if I don't heed his body language that he doesn't want to step up. If I just back off & distract him or do something else then go back for a step up he will usually comply. They are certainly moody little buggers & I hope you & Gryph can work it out together. I personally don't know what effect having another bird in the picture is doing to him. Hopefully you will hear from some of the others with multiple birds. But first thing please get him off your shoulder.

I noticed several of you commented that you had the Kings Aluminum cage. I have looked at these online, do any of you have problems with the food/water dishes getting soiled all the time? They look like they are mounted low in the cages- just seems like they would get pooped in frequently or is there enough spaces to mount your perches so they don't poop in the bowls? Just wondering. I have a powder coated cage, it is only 3 years old & Biscotti has worn some of the coating off the door already. I would love to upgrade to stainless or aluminum someday. Thanks for your input!!

Very cute! Thanks for sharing Oh, and Honest Kitchen makes great dog food!

Thank you all & yes he is very entertaining, I never get tired of hearing him jabber. When he gets quiet I have to check on him!

Here is a video of Biscotti at 6:30 in the morning. I think he must have got in the coffee while I was doing my outside chores! What a motor mouth! Anyway, he is putting in his order while I am preparing his vegetables in the kitchen. At about 1min 30 sec. he scratches himself & then says "I gotta itch". Cracked me up when I saw it. I love my silly boy, such a cheerful fellow to wake up to! youtu.be/7EeJBGT8fdw
