  1. Your post really brought back memories! Biscotti started his terrible two's at about the age Gracie is. It was really a rude awakening for me, Biscotti had always been a sweet cuddle bug--until then. He is now 3 1/2 & most of the "terrible", lol, stuff has past but he is no longer a cuddler & minimal scritches is all the actual contact he cares for. Since Gracie has never been a cuddle bird, she is probably going to try & show her independence in other ways. Biscotti can still be a total turd at times, such is the nature of greys, & he definitely has a sense of humor like you are describing with Gracie! Before he does something he knows he shouldn't he says "that's a bad bird" in this real calm voice, then he goes ahead & does it. and usually laughs! Aren't they the most wonderful, exasperating creatures you have ever know?
  2. This is what Biscotti has to say: Hope Santa believes him!!
  3. Nice pics!! Storm sure is a cutie!! Nice that he & Echo get along!
  4. Darwins cage is awesome ! It is very similar to Biscotti's. Like greywings said, you probably need to protect your ceiling. I have added a couple picks of things I have made to protect mine. Very easy to make with pvc pipe & fittings. You may also want to protect your wall behind the cage, greys love to fling food!! Have fun with Darwin!!
  5. Up close & personal- yes, you will never go to the bathroom alone again!!
  6. I use Firefox. Not chrome or IE.
  7. I'm computer illiterate!! Don't even know how to copy!!
  8. So frustrating! Get it all typed up & no go!! lol.
  9. What is wrong with the pm's? Been trying to send for 2 weeks!!
  10. Thanks all!! It's really quiet here on Halloween also, too far out in the country. But Biscotti had a great time saying "Trick or Treat" on & off all day yesterday. How did he know? Maybe he was hearing it on the TV? It is in his usual jabbering but only comes out once in awhile, I must have heard it 100 times yesterday! I have not heard it at all today. Eerie! Timbersmom- he was in his favorite "Red Bootied Jungle Chicken" costume
  11. Happy Halloween from Biscotti!
  12. Wow, so sad that they would so easily "get rid" of Sadiee. So glad you two have found each other! You are going to have a lot of fun with Sadiee!
  13. How exciting! Way to go Gilbert, making a good 'ole fun mess. So nice to hear this!
  14. Such a cutie! Love the baby eyes. She is so sweet & looks so happy & healthy!! Fun times for sure.
  15. I have no doubt Gracie knows what "love" is, maybe not in word definition like we think , but she absolutely knows what "love" feels like in the bond you two have. She really sounds a lot like Biscotti, he is not much of a hands on bird either. But his "love" for me ( and I him ) is obvious. He will do anything to be near me and is very content to just be in my presence. He does like a scritch now & then, always on his terms. Like you said they are all individuals and have very unique personalities. They are the most amazing creatures.
  16. Very sad. They look so beautiful when they are flying free in big flocks.
  17. That is so awesome, way to go Dee & Gilbert!!
  18. Biscotti is a righty and you all know if you have watched his videos that he is a real chatterbox! Jeff, he also started talking around 7 mo. and has never stopped! He is 3 now and I haven't tired to count his vocab, but it is huge.
  19. Belated happy birdday Talon! Hope you had a great day with lots of goodies!!
  20. So sorry, I am just seeing this & my heart breaks for you. Hold your wonderful memories of Ivan close, I hope they will replace the pain of his loss. Your videos are wonderful, thank you for sharing them with us.
  21. Hi Morana, it is just a growth stage they seem to go through around 2 yrs old when they are becoming more independent and willful. Not as cuddly as when they were babies. Human babies have a similar stage & I'm sure that is where the term came from. I think the actual age this occurs will vary from bird to bird, Biscottis' actually started around 18 mo. and he is just now seeming to settle down some. He was 3 in June. Thank goodness it is just a stage & will pass! This is my first experience with having a baby from weaning age, so maybe some of the more experienced members will have a better description for you.
