Logic behind smaller than one inch bar spacing: If your Tag gets it head caught between the bars, even if your home they could die. Simply.................Thanks Jayd
It's not what we do we have to worry about but what others do [or don't] It never hurts to check. There was a post just a short while ago on the forum about a foster parront in a situation just like this. Good reference Wingy....Not every one agrees with chipping, search the forum.........Thanks Jay
Hi , Imping and Greys aren't always the best way to go as Trancework mentioned. Joe, if you remember took almost 4 years to fly, this isn't unusual my lady, use your best asset, patience......Jay
Hello my friend, what you need to do is send a PM to Dave007 and ask if he would respond to you inquires, Dave is our Plucking expert with good solid advice from years of experiences. Does Emma have "Stress Marks"? Feathers in general can take a long time to come in depending when they fell or were plucked out, look in the range of a year, the little white feathers are a continuous occurrence 24/7/365. Thanks Jay
 Hammy and Pretty-mama are in the mood again, We were thinking that if enough members were interested we would breed them and do a video/photo day by day fro birth to fledge. We would do what we call Shared Parronts, we would hold each baby a few times each day until they were down to two feedings a day and spoon feed them from then on. We would also have a Naming contest. Hammy and Pretty-mama has given us Cinnamon, White-faced Pied, pied and pearls. Let us know what you think..Jay and Maggie:D
If I may.... Some cages from China are constructed and placed outside where they gather rust and then they are powder-coated. The powder-coating can chip loose, your parrot can ingest some and get heavy metal poisoning. A second point is that not all powder-coating is created equal. When it comes to re-painting/powder-coating, some of the powder-coats used to re-coat the cage have zinc in their composition, which in turn can cause heavy metal poisoning. (Thanks Dan!) Thank you, Jay
Lol, I'm sorry, I have to agree with Dave, the problem is the dog leading the owner, or in this case, the bird leading the owner. There's only one solution and that is to handle the matter like you would any other problem, teach not to chew and remove when not in use. If it's Tuesday? lol Thanks Jay
Thank you for considering a rescue. I hate to say this but in your case I recommend you passing on it, and trying to line-up one of your friends. As most of the members known I am a strong advocate of doing just what your purposing, my [our] life has been devoted to rescues and re-homes. I know with out a doubt you could do it, but I feel you have a special bond with this special Grey you have. I see much future advancements with you and Kizzy. In the end, it's your decision, I would like to see you get another Grey but 2 or 3 years down the road. Thank You Jayd
