  8. Thank you, I didn't check for Acidic water, just the high Ph, sorry. This I do believe. Here' some info: *s Any time a living animal consumes an acid, the body pulls minerals from teeth (I know birds don't have teeth, except for the baby egg-tooth!) and bones to produce bicarbonate to neutralize the acid. Obviously, this can prove dangerous over time. Another problem with drinking distilled water is that acidic liquids (and having an animal become "acidic"), will result in the production of more free-radicals, which are molecules that can increase the risk for cancer.* Please check out: http://www.exoticpetvet.net/general/water.html Jayd
  9. Hello Angelo, Please understand that if you do decide to get an unweaned baby or whatever age of Grey you get, I will give you my unconditional support and do whatever I can to help as will others here. Please don't be afraid to ask. Jayd, Maggie, Spock and the flock....

  12. Welcome to the forum...Jayd Maggie, Spock and the flock

  13. Almost flight time, a TAG is far more clumsy about flying then a 'Tiel, a lot more mass.lol I'd rather have 6 'Tiels flying at once than 1 TAG or CAG!!!! Beautiful color Loki is... Jayd
  14. The Ph of Ground Water that our CAG's and TAG's drink in native Africa, range from 6-9. The recommended Ph for parrots range between 6.5 and 7.8. Ph higher then 8 is used for treatment of fungus in and own our birds. My personal opinion is to use bottled water, this is just my own opinion. just wondering

*just move the thread!! , my young un wont even play with the veggie / fruit i offer her, i have made a sweet potato/corn/carrot mash for her & put it in on a daily basis, she never even looks at it tho , the only thing she eats is corn on the cob* Welcome again. Make a Smash: white or red sweet potato's, try both![boil till mush, or cut in half, put in microwave with 1/2 inch water and cook till mush] Skippys or natural peanut butter, banana, next time pear, next time unsweetened applesauce. For 2tblsp of sweey potato, add 1/2 tsp, peanut butter, 1/2 tsp apple, pear or banana, serve warm.[under 109%] You need to cut out the corn, maybe a 1" slice of well boiled corn on the cob, once a week!...
  16. Dan Judy and I posted at same time! Haha....Daily weighing as Dan and Judy said is "Really" important!!. Please, "No Peanuts in shell", only roasted unsalted peanuts.......
  17. Thats grey't, try all kinds of foods and veggies. Corn and Head lettuce and leaf lettuce isn't a good choice to feed parrots, their mostly water, Romaine is better, Dark green leafy veggies are the first choice, Dandelion greens, kale, carrot's and carrot tops, beet's and beet greens, some Swiss chard, Turnip and mustard greens. Also Yellow Squash, zucchini, butternut and acorn squash, Sweet potato's, Snap peas, snow peas etc are great. Then there's Cheerio's, Garbanzo bean's, brown rice, Orzo pasta, Whacky-mac. There's so many threads, check them out...Jayd

  19. Here's some interesting reading, Timnehs become sexually mature at around 4 to 5 years old. There's a number of articles on the net and they generally agreed that a Timneh doesn't change human bond as often as a CAG. As Dave007 said in regards to clipping;*may not solve your problem*, I personally don't think it will help! No disrespect to Dave. Jayd

  22. :oThat's Grey't, Ana has your number!!!!
  23. Yes, Dan knows what he's talking about and his advice is always good. Your quote, This is something that you don't have much control over. What you describe is normal Grey behavior. You might have to accept the fact that your not the "Chosen one"! Here's a couple of sites that might help you understand the psychology and mental attitudes of these independent beings. http://www.alexfoundation.org/ http://www.africangreys.com/Jayd
  24. Try this my friend, lots of use-full's : http://www.petpublishing.com/birdtimes/breeds/timmie.shtml
  25. Janet's reply is correct, please don't clip your baby, that could set him back forever. It sounds as if Romo is going through his Terrible Twos. Now question Janet asked? Has anything changes/ hand-lotion, make-up, trying new foods or toy's? You'd be surprised what can cause a change, How about your fear towards him? he knows, and is acting this out. You say you keep him caged more, is this contributing to the problem? Hormonal? Even though he's not mature, they do have instincts!!! Please don't clip his wings, with his mental condition right now, it could be devastating..Jayd Danmcq thread: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?190309-A-note-on-Punishment-and-your-Parrot
