It's such a shame that you now can't handle Doc. It must be terrible for you after such a good relationship. As Janet has said, if you have got enough time to let him out for a good period to see if he will go back - give it a go. Harvey returns to his cage all through the day - not into it because he's got everything outside - but if Doc's food and water were in there - perhaps he would go back - I'm really feeling for you - it must be awful. Persevere though - your beautiful bird is still your baby

That's absolutely great! Have you ever seen the Royal Airforce Red Arrows - that's what Sachi and Emma are like - syncronised and then one breaks off - as Sachi did up the hall!!! It's bad enough with one and having to duck!

I've just had to peek and there's clearly a trouble maker!! Two of them are quite happily dozing, whilst the third seems to be shouting "pile on" and jumping on top!! I'm in love!!!

Music/TV on when I'm not home? Good or bad?
JillyBeanz replied to CuteMandaPanda's topic in The GREY Lounge
When I'm not home Harvey has the radio on - I make sure that it's a mix of tunes and talk so he doesn't get bored. It's always best to leave something on when you're not home. -
I order my pellets and toys and supplements etc from a UK company called "Midland Parrots". I received my order yesterday and I buy Kaytee pellets in HUGE bags. When I opened the box the bag was split and had been taped up - and the contents had spilled into the box. As you can agree, I wasn't going to feed Harvey ANYTHING that was already opened. I emailed Midland Parrots and told them of my plight. I have today received an email telling me to dispose of the sack and they will send me another one - the sack handle had come off when lifted out of storage. We always whinge when we get naff service - I thought I'd let you know about the great service I received.

It's not Jay and Maggie - it's Mr & Mrs Noah and their Ark! What are you two like!!! He is beautiful! Look at him just letting you pet him under his wings!! He obviously knows how lucky he is to be with the merry throng!!

Ah poor little Juno (and poor little you)!! I wouldn't fancy giving the antibiotics - what a nightmare! I hope that he's fine soon - which he will be, I'm sure under your love and care

I know my iron is teflon coated - I don't iron in the same room as Harvey - he gets banged in his cage as he is always wanting to "help" and tries to land on the bottom of the steam station (very dangerous!). Harvey does join me when I'm straightening my hair - up until now. I think I shall stop him from this activity too (as I know GHDs are teflon coated too). These birds!!!!

What! Move his hands and his mouth at the same time - very clever! :woohoo:

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/11/18 13:29

That's great news! Asking for showers too - pah! That's a first!!! Can't wait to see some pictures x

Ah, Many Happy Returns - you should have told us earlier! Glad you had a lovely day xxxx

Nealo - that site is sooooo cheap! I'm saving it in my favourites. The prices of the cages are nearly give away - the cage that I have is on there - and was a lot more expensive than advertised! If you have the money - go for the new cage for those prices!!!
-
Ha Ha! Give me a kiss - good boy! Fab! They are soooo in love! I feel sorry for the third one - he/she is trying her best not to feel embarrassed by her friends "necking" in public! GET A ROOM!!! :woohoo:

Christina wrote: Ha Ha! You're not wrong there Christina! Harvey can beat me easily up the stairs - and he has to turn half way to complete the move! Blink and they're gone!!

All well and good, but if everything is checked doesn't it look like a kitchen floor

Basketball - Players from around the world!!
JillyBeanz replied to danmcq's topic in The GREY Lounge
I love this clip Dan! What makes me laugh is the two greedy greys (sorry, skillful) - Bo and Yoda! They may not have those colours - but bah - they've got the moves!! Thanks for this Dan - I'm going to watch it again! -
Ha Ha! Yes - HOT TEA - with my little finger delicately sticking out of the side!!! There's tons of it! I've chopped it up and put it in a box to freeze - at the minute Harvey thinks I'm trying to poison him with it!!!
-
Absolutely fine! Harvey sits on the soap dish thing off the side of the shower pole and turns around when I ask him to. But If I mist him with aloe I have to do it in his cage - as he hates it and runs (flies) a mile! Alfie isn't distressed or anything! She's fine - don't worry

The two girls I share an office with were talking today about the fact they were coming home tonight to start their Christmas Cakes! Pah - I said "I'm going home to make birdie bread". The look on their faces just said it all - they are the two who I share most of my waking hours with - and they obviously have to share Harvey's life too!!! Now, I've just made birdie bread for the first time (cheated, obviously, bought it in a bag from Harrisons) and there's tons of it - I know you can freeze it - but how do you all go about serving it? And yes - as you know I try everything Harvey eats - I got the "hot pepper" version - bah - it's blown the back of my head off!!!!

That's exactly the picture I had in my mind when I read this before!

An egg! As I went across the bridge, I met a man with a load of wood which was neither straight nor crooked. What kind of wood was it?

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/11/17 18:18

Isn't it great!! I just yell for Harvey and he comes running (flying)! Makes for a lazy parrot owner though!! Great videos - Emma's taking it all in her stride - but the look of pride on her face is the best
-
It would cost us a fortune if we had an amazon - we are water metered and pay by the drop! Stupid thing is - I'm sitting reading doing the actions!!! Bless her - perhaps somebody will invent one of those shower rings for their heads - just like you get for toddlers - then she can spread her wings and enjoy her shower!!!

Hi Nealo - Welcome to the forum! There is so much choice in cages - you just have to make sure that the one you choose is large enough for your grey (needs to flap and jump around). Ebay is fine - the cage would just need cleaning vigorously if it is second hand - just to ensure no germs are transferred. It's best to throw away wooden perches etc though. I'm loving the Stevie Gerrard Chav though - should he not have been training!!! Good luck in your quest - ask anything on this forum you feel you need to ask - otherwise browse about - there's an abundance of info available.

Sessions on Saturday and Sunday! That would be: SOSSled! Oooh - I can feel a new club being generated here!!
