You'll have to watch Java Dee - she'll be back in that lampshade in no time, now that's she's got the free run again! I love those "sayings" that you have around your house. They are indeed very special reminders.

I'm not sure if this is practiced all over the world, but here in the UK we make "New Year's Resolutions". My only successful one was made in 2000 when I said I would stop smoking - 10 years down the line, I'm still not smoking. This year I have resolved not to drink alcohol for the full month of January. Does anyone else have a New Year's Resolution?

Father Time drinking beer with Bernie at midnight in a local pub. I spy with my little eye Bernie R A D in the snow after his drink at midnight in a local pub with Father Time!

I can't tell you how Harvey is doing - Jasper and him are probably from the same parents and you may take Jasper back if I tell you! Ha Ha! He's fine - sitting on the top of the door reciting his new "Michael" phrase (obviously I must shout it a lot - it's my husband's name)! His other favourite is "the duck". I ask him what a duck says and he says "quack quack". He is so proud of himself with that one! The photo in my Avatar is of Harvey when he was probably about 14 weeks old - he has lightened a lot since then - and regularly showers help! Looking forward to hearing more of Jasper x

Goodness me! I've just logged in! Happy New Year! You've celebrated already!!!! It's still 5 hours and 40 minutes until 2010 here! May I wish all of my friends (and those not lucky enough to be one yet - just ask me, I'm really nice!!!) HAPPY NEW YEAR ~ I wish you all a safe and sound passage into 2010 and wish you well for the coming year xx

Oh yeah! He means it! It might be Jon Bon Jovi in the background building him up too! Great war dance Dayo - but whilst I have your attention Dayo - when's the next episode of your book????!!!

Hi Jenny - Great to hear that Jasper is home!! I did exactly the same as you - put the perches low, put the towel in the bottom - but Harvey did exactly the same as Jasper - jumped around the cage and within minutes he was hanging upside down! He's just making himself a little bed in the corner of his cage - when you went to collect him you will have noticed that he probably wasn't sitting on the perch either - although they are obviously trained to perch, they prefer to be near their clutch mate (which would have been in the next cage to Jasper). Don't worry - he's just settling in! Can't wait to see the pictures of Harvey's relative!!!

I hadn't seen August Rush until you recommended it Dan - Great Film! Grumpy Old Men great film too! Haven't seen the sequel though! Thanks for that - karma sprinkling a tinkling!

Great video Steve - thanks for that - I'm going to watch it again!

I was just thinking about you yesterday Pat - great to hear you are fine and that's it's just a technical hitch! It's difficult to believe we used to cope and carry on with normal life without a computer!! Take care and have a Happy New Year - new photos once the computer is up and running please (I miss my fix)!! Jill x

You really should bake the branches - but if this proves impossible you could strip all of the bark and scrub to disinfectant it. There are many bugs and insects that live under bark, and also fungi etc which grow on bark that aren't too good for your grey either. You can purchase Java branches which have already been baked and treated and are perfectly good climbing apparatus for your grey. You could also put a towel in the bottom of the cage, just in case he does fall.

Ha Ha! I award Dayo a perfect 10 for that back flip off the high board!! Great video - Dayo really means business in his attack!
-
Hold on you three! I asked for your FAVOURITE film - not your back catalogue! Therefore, from this I derive that Judy's favourite film is the Burbs, Bernie's is True Grit and Janet's is Legends of the Fall! So chaps - you can have your two karmas for your ONE favourite film!! Come on everyone - there must be more than these three watch films!

Good to hear you had a good holiday. Harvey likes to be stroked in that area when he's sleepy, at the end of the evening - he pushes his crop area into my fingers so that I stroke there. That area is "puffy" - if you watch when he whistles etc it expands a great deal - so when it is relaxed it is an expanse of skin. Good luck with the new vet x

What about a new game in your new role as moderator of the games room - perhaps "find the Judy".

Hi Kevin - Welcome to our family - why's it taken you so long!! From your posting you have shown just how clumsy and sensitive our babies are! There are lots of forum members who have had "pluckers" and many who are continuing in their efforts, and succeeding, in ensuring that this habit is broken. You will find lots of useful articles, if you haven't found them already, in the "Health Room" - where you will find particular help with this problem. Looking forward to getting to know more about you and your family -
Everyone has a favourite movie. Some are famous, some aren't so. I'm interested in movies and have seen hundreds and hundreds. I'm interested in what your favourite is, who were the stars - and whether the next poster has seen YOUR favourite movie. Two karmas for each response (well, everyone else is using bribery - why not me!!!). I'll start: By the Light of the Silvery Moon - Doris Day and Gordon McCrae.

Well, perhaps if you had clicked on my link six days ago he would have known you cared! Bad luck!

What a talented kid this is - I've been right through the folder - beautiful shots! I love the two of Shanti - so different and so artistic! Karma to you for the "different" shots - remarkable

I know this isn't why you started this thread, but hey - here it goes! I am extremely grateful (as is Harvey) for the dedicated time and effort that is undertaken in order to make this the forum it is. I have never, ever been a member of a forum before (I don't even have a Facebook or MySpace account) but when looking around the internet I watched, with interest, the detailed and humourous accounts by members, some of whom I am now pleased to call my friends. It was an absolute honour to be asked to be a moderator by admin, and I hope to continue this for a good length of time, to show the dedication and desire for this forum to go from strength to strength (as it has done over the years). Open up as many rooms as you want Penny - but as long as the next is that "Jill Room" I've campaigned for! Joking asides - I don't care what rooms you open - you're the gaffer, the boss, the don - do what you want (but I draw the line at a stick insect room or tarantula room)!! Thanks, from the bottom of our hearts. Jill & Harvey x
