1. Beau has 4 bowls, one for pellets, one for dry seeds, nuts etc., one for fresh fruit & veg and one for water. Any additional treats are either hand fed or if dry, put in with the dried food. Beau also has a spear for his palm nuts (goes threough the fleshy part) corn cobs etc.
2. I know this is an old thread but I wasn't part of this forum last year. The changes in Gizmo are there for all to see, he looks in fine form these days. Does he bathe regularly now Pat? Is he your severe?
3. She looks very happy and contented in these pics.
4. There is good news and bad... The good is that Argyle is getting used to us, biting much less and when he does it's not as painful  also today he let me do head scratches, closing his eyes whilst enjoying the pleasure  The bad news is that Argyle & Beau aren't exactly hitting it off. Today whilst they were out together whoever Argyle landed on, Beau decided he was having none of it and was dive-bombing him, they kept flying at each other almost colliding in mid-air at one stage and both crash landing in various parts of the rooms. We put Beau back in his cage and Argyle insisted on landing on top of Beau's cage rather than his own, even after covering the top with a blanket, Argyle then did his best to crawl underneath and then of course Beau tried to peck at him - not good and not easy keeping them apart. Seperate outings then I guess

Post edited by: Joolesgreyuk, at: 2009/09/07 20:47
5. Well Carol, why not start the easy way - on ebay and see how business goes, gradually increase and vary your stock and take it from there. If you ship to the UK I'm sure you'd get buyers such as myself as well. The trick is to keep it lightweight to keep postage costs down. Go on, give it a go!
6. These are great Carol. Have you thought of starting your own business up selling them? I'd buy.
7. That is amazing Dan, thanks for sharing.
8. Darius is one big bird but a softy with you Pat. B)
9. BTW There aren't enough angry smileys on this site, I need one with steam coming out of the ears! grrr
10. What a prize PILLOCK!!!!!!!!!! Stupid, stupid woman
11. Yes I can see that Pat. What kind of macaw is Jeepers? He has the same red "shoulders" as Argyle too lol
12. Pat, that green and that shine is exactly like Argyle's. It must be the Macaw shine ;-)
13. She is adorable and I love the name Sephora.
14. Dave you are a mine of information. Thank you for that.
15. I don't normally drink tbh but I think I need one tonight
16. LOL yes I was a bit nervous as it was only the second time Argyle had been on me and I was trying to clean their trays out lol! That hairstyle is the latest thing you know, it's called the parrot twist  I think I'm known as the mad bird woman around these parts
17. Thank you so much for this link lovemygreys, I wasn't aware of this one in Plymstock - virtually on my doorstep.
18. ..and let them out together and this was the result.. As soon as Argyle landed on me Beau wasn't about to be left out. No fighting though, Beau a little unsure/nervous and maybe a little jealous otherwisw no probs.

Post edited by: Joolesgreyuk, at: 2009/09/05 17:57
19. OMG Pat, he is awsome. His feathers are truly beautiful. Darius is such a fitting name for him as he looks like a wise old man almost like he's looking down on the rest of us in his infinate wisdom. How old is he, did you say he was 6?
20. Some of you will be aware that I recently spent £62 on a UV lamp for my grey, I haven't felt the need to use it yet as it was bought for the winter months. As I have now aquired another parrot (small macaw) I'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy a second lamp for him. I'm not even sure if Beau will accept the lamp on his cage yet, I did have it switched off and placed near his cage for him to "get used to it" but that's no longer possible with the second parrot taking up that area of the room. What I was wondering was, is it just as viable (and a lot cheaper) to buy calcium/vitamin D drops instead of using a lamp. What do other owners do in the winter months to keep their birds healthy?
21. OMG Janet, this is the first time I have noticed this thread. Your little grandson was born so incredibly early and you are so lucky he even survived. He is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations go to you and your family.XX
22. Thanks Pat, that's reasuring. Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
23. Yes maybe I should have Caitlyn but I know where he came from and I'm sure he is fine. Tbh, I don't have anywhere I could quarantine him.
24. Oi Jill, you cheeky  that was my son's choice of name! Thanks for the advice Judy, I think I will allow them out together sometime over the weekend, that way Steve will be here to help seperate them if the worse happens.
