  1. {Feel-good-0002006E} Love it Bernie!
  2. LOL they are so funny aren't they?
  3. Oh bu@@er! Good thing we didn't do a vigillanti attack on his house  and you seemed so sure, just goes to show how desperate you are to find Sinbad doesn't it. I feel for you and for Sinbad and pray he is safe somewhere.
  4. I'm not sure you should be talking to this guy especially if it is Sinbad, if he is Spanish he may not understand a word you are saying or even if he does he could pretend he doesn't.
  5. Yes Devon/Cornwall/S Wales copped it last night but the warm air is (slowly) working itself across the country. It's positively balmy here or is that barmy hmmm ;-)
  6. LOL Argyle my hahns macaw loves his hidey tent but you are right he is a small bird and I have since read that the hahns' should be given a place to hide themselves away in. Beau my CAG isn't interested in his though so yes I think it's a small birdy thing lol.
  7. Update on the weather here: all the snow has now pretty much gone, it is warm (a whole 10 degrees!) and sunny and I have washing out on the line. All together now "WOOHOO" :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
  8. Thanks guys, I'm still waiting for the behaviourist to return my email. I really want advice from an expert before I proceed
  9. Just to show I'm not biased, I've just received an email from Northern Parrots, they have a huge sale on!
  10. OMG you must feel physically sick because as Jill says, you just know that bird is your beautiful Sinbad. If I were you I would have sneaked on in and took him, I really would have. Is there a chance you could go back knowing they are out at the same time of day and do just that? If not then you simply have to get the police involved, you really have no option do you. Please, please, please do not allow this man to get away with it, explain to the police that he is only after the money. Your baby will make it quite plain he is yours by the way he behaves and if it turns out he isn't then it will have been a genuine mistake and the police can't fault you for that. Please keep us updated?
  11. UK based members, take a look at this: http://www.parrotcomforts.co.uk/products Looks to me like a small business but looks cheaper than NP. Has anyone bought from here?
  12. In an attempt to train a rather unruly bird I have a couple of question I'd like to put to any training experts that may be lurking on this forum. When attempting to train with the click = treat method: 1. How can you even begin to offer a treat to a bird that will only lunge at you - even when offering treats? 2. Many behavioural therapists suggest training in a virtually empty room, how many houses have a room with so little furniture that it can all be moved elsewhere? I would like to start a training programme with Argyle but the thought of offering him a treat and putting my hand that close to him fills me with dread!
  13. Scarring? It's the cuts, bumps and bruises and it's not confined to one hand
  14. The temperature has dropped since 8.30 this morning and it's snowing heavily here. I just skidded whilst picking up Steve from work in the car, I don't think the roads were treated here last night.
  15. I'd like to think so but who knows, one thing's for sure Beau would recognise us ;-)
  16. Lovely picture Jill. The good news is that parcel force have finally arrived this morning (yes a Sunday!!!) with Beau's birthday goodies, better late than never I suppose, he won't know the difference, he will just get spoiled a second day! It's snowing this morning and has been for hours, it's very light so far though and so not doing too much on the ground. I've been feeding and watering the wild birds these past few days, something I don't do very often. I don't think the weather is going to improve any time soon.
  17. I love all your pictures, these again are amazing. Cocoa certainly seems to be enjoying his treat.
  18. Thank you summer (love your username btw ;-)) The dance of love is definately not directed at me LOL, Argyle hates me! The subject of his desire is Steve (when it suits him though) but it has now been 6 months and things are not improving other than maybe the odd few days. Yesterday Argyle (renamed Sid as in vicious recently lol) was the worst I have seen him and it looks like I'm going to have to reluctantly put to the vet the possibility of lightly clipping him, not a road I ever wanted to go down but we need to gain control because at the moment he is boss - and knows it. Yesterday be bit me four times, this morning one of my fingers is still bruised and swollen. I cannot allow the possibility of this happening to my son (he does go for the face, ears and neck) because I didn't take the advice (about clipping) given to me back in November. I'm afraid I've tried and failed with him. What is worse for him? 1. a light clip so he can't fly onto our shoulders against our will or 2. Him being confined to his cage the the rest of his life because he is being allowed out less and less atm or worse still 3. re-homing him yet again - he is pre-owned. I'll be honest here, I do feel I've failed with Argyle.
  19. Yes she did. Carol had a problem with her son (which I won't go into on here) the outcome of this was that he came to live with her, I think for financial reasons she wasn't on the net for a time although I supsect she has a sneeky peek from time to time whilst elsewhere, maybe at someone else's house or an internet cafe maybe because I see her signed in for short periods although she didn't answer a pm I sent her, that's why I suspect she isn't in the comfort of her own home. I miss her too because she is great fun and took some lovely pics.
  20. I use my hairdressing scales (more accurate than kitchen scales) for mixing small amounts of colour. They cost about £27/£28 about a year or so ago. I would prever avian scales but they are a ridiculous price and no more accurate than mine.
  21. Y A W N! It's a hard life... Great pictures, thanks for sharing them.
  22. Great video Dan, Jake is such a good boy taking his bath like that and Dayo, well no way will he be outdone lol
