Hey Yvette, I hope you will soon be able to be on the forum with us more often. We miss you and wish you and your family the very best of wishes. Please know you are in our prayers. Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep By Mary Frye Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.<br><br>Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/11/13 20:42

Hi Marius, I'm very happy for you that you have finally gotten Ash home. Can't wait to see those pictures you have promised to delight us with. The sig--well if you will look at other posts you will see below the dotted line a saying, picture or whatever a person has added to be their signature. I have a personal poem I wrote and a couple of quotes from notable persons. You choose what you would like to be your signature, type something in there or put in a photo whatever you like. Whenever you post something that signature will come up to personalize it as yours. Glad you have joined us and can't wait to hear more about Ash.

I believe the gentleman truly loves Tigger and really wanted to see if his beloved fid was in a good home and happy and healthy. He loved him enough to give him away while he could still make sure to find him a good home, he came by to make sure he had made the right choice. Even if he did want to come by again, how could anyone even think to begrudge this sick man the right to see the fid he loves. I don't believe he will be coming by all the time, because he knows his fid has found a really good home, he can now rest in peace knowing that he did right by his beloved fid, his baby. Tigger enjoyed the visit and he settled down after the man left because animals are more sensitive than people; he knows his friend is ill and he is loved in his new home. This story made me cry because of the total love these two have for each other. Tigger is not a well-adjusted bird by accident; it took love and caring to make him that way, and he is a lucky fid to have found it twice. And Erika he is a beautiful bird, thanks for sharing his picture.<br><br>Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/11/12 08:52

Adaya, looks great!! The first picture looks like she is hiding, the second is peek-a-boo and the last picture looks like she is laughing at the camera!!! I luv these shots of her. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Pam welcome aboard. The Cag and the Tag each have their own attributes. I believe it is personal preferences that wins out. The Cag is larger with a red tail. The Tag smaller with a maroon tail and bone colored beak. I understand the Tag matures faster and have heard they are less nervous than a Cag. Some members have both greys and probably have a much better understanding of the two. Ask any questions you might have and knowledgeable members will be along to help you out. Go luck on your quest to find a grey.

Hey Ben so glad to hear from you and hopefully your landlord/apt.owner will get back to you soon. Frankly, I hope they compensate you for your loss, it would be the right thing to do. Nothing can replace Bell but compensation would at least give you the opportunity to get yourself a new friend at some point in time. We'll be waiting to hear what the outcome of this ordeal is. Best wishes, Janet.

Cagal, I'm game!! How about the name Tidbit for such a tiny gal.

Up to 75-80 years. What to you call the top part of a grey's beak?

Hi Alipallly, sounds like you are going to be a great asset to our forum. Karma to you for founding a pet and wildlife rescue. Are Wallis and Rocky rescues and how old are they? What a blessing Rexxy is for you. I loved your story. On a reverse note, on a local Washington State noon news program it was reported that a parrot (kind not said) saved a toddler. The parents were not home and the babysitter was in the bathroom when she heard the family parrot screaming "Mama, baby" "Mama, baby" She rushed into the living room and found the toddler choking on a pop tart. The babysitter was able to do the Hemlich Maneuver and save the choking child. Just another reminder about how smart and intelligent parrots really are.

Good for you Marla. Just relax and let George come to you. Remember, they want what they can't have. Have his cage open, talk to him, eat something in front of him you know he likes but don't give it to him; make him come to you, if he doesn't come, eat the whole thing and enjoy it. Really enjoy it-- be animated about it. He'll come around. Just relax and become his friend don't try to force anything. Have fun!!!

Ralph, I agree with Pat let the two tiels be together in one cage with a nesting box so they can both take care of the eggs. Poor Twinkle misses the male. What's his name? She can't sit on the eggs all the time and she gets hungry too and needs company. Let the wedding bells ring!!! Hey they could buy their own food with the profits from baby tiels, if you can bring yourself to sell them!!
-
Nora, Hootie is so relaxed and comfortable on his back, what a hoot!!!

Penny, I like Mary's idea of letting your fids check out your supplies, that way you can see what they like or dislike. Also, that way when the toy is finally made they might recognize the makings and enjoy it more. I would of course make the toys when they are in their cages at bedtime if they are being pesky. Look forward to seeing these great toys, Penny.:silly:
