1. Congratulations to Mckenzie and to you. She is absolutely gorgeous and if she is talking already she must be very comfortable and happy. Can't wait for more pictures and update on her homecoming.
2. Congratulations on your new grey. Some of our experienced members have given some great advice. I only want to let you know what a great thing you have done to adopt an older grey, it sounds like you truly want to make his life better. Have you found a name for him yet? When you get a chance we would luv to see some pictures. Karma to you for your generousity!
3. Try presenting vegetables and fruits first thing in the morning and withhold the nuts and seeds until later in the day. Does your grey eat pellets these are also important. Good luck.

7. What is the difference between a sofa and a man watching Monday Night Football? The sofa doesn't keep asking for beer.
8. Your blood sugar has miraculously corrected itself so you can now eat all the See's Candy you want--and you do, tons of it; and now weigh 1000 lbs!!! I wish I never got lost when I drive.
9. I pick my baby grey up that way all the time. Just reach out and pick her up. I want to be able to get her in a hurry if there is an emergency to pop her into her travel cage. I also play peek-a-boo with a towel with her all the time so she will not be afraid when she goes to the Vet or if someone else less experienced needs to immediately take you up in a towel. My baby and I are also working on the step-up command. I believe they are only afraid of what they don't understand and want my grey to understand all I can think of.
10. Stefanie, I think that's a great picture of Malcolm. It's great to see such a fine looking 10 year old. We are sure glad you decided to join our family and look forward to hearing all about Malcolm and your family. Welcome aboard!!!
11. My new baby luvs grapes. Shoot she will eat anything, except raisins not much of a raisin eater.

13. Wow Caroline, great pictures and such a good heart to help out the other mothers who had to work. No snow here in Washington State where I live just gray skies and lots of rain. Well we are called the Webfoot State for good reason. This Evergreen State is green and beautiful with the help of a lot of rain!!

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/12/10 20:04
14. Gee Bea sounds like you really like this grey and he you. Is it a Congo or a Timneh. The age is about the same as your Timneh. What does your husband think? Only you and your family can decide but I think maybe this is a perfect match!! Good luck on your decision!
15. Hi Afrique, welcome to the family. For sure you should look around and when you get a chance we would luv to see some pictures of Kiki.
16. Yes we should all think about this. Before I got my grey I talked to my family and my 19-year-old grandson stepped forward. He hangs with my baby grey now and he is named in my Will as the new owner of my grey.
17. Hey I can vouch for that!! I just got my grey 11/29 and have been a member since late 9/08. I learned an awful lot in those months. 19. Why is it good that there are female astronauts? Because when the crew gets lost in space, at least the woman will ask for directions.
20. I feed my new baby Pretty Bird - Specially for African Greys also various beans, vegetables like broccoli, peas, carrots, squash, some homemade cornbread with pine nuts and vegetables and splashes of red palm oil and calcium supplement, and eggs, oatmeal and various nuts.

22. Well it will either be Elvis Presley or me, hope its Elvis I play his songs when I turn off the lights in my new grey's room in hopes..... If its me, poor baby... when I answer the phone people still ask to speak to my mommy or the lady of the house..lol. I'll let you know as soon as she says her first words:silly:
23. Gosh Madness sorry about today's visit. But they are going to bite. I have a new baby- turned 4 months today. Had her for a week; the first two days she bit me alot. It's the way they hold on. I say no and she still bites a little when she tries to perch on me or to try to step up. They have no hands except their mouths. If you are afraid of a bite then maybe you should wait because if they know you are afraid well they are going to bite if they want you to leave them alone. This is my opinion. Think about it because they live a long time and their first home with you should be a forever home. By the way, my little baby wants out of her cage all the time and to be with me. She eats out of my hand and likes cuddles, but she still nibbles/bites to get purchase. Good luck on your decision.
24. What's the smartest thing a man can say? My wife says ....
