1. Very nice Carol!!! Wish I was just half as creative as you are!!!
2. Hope all is all right with little Rudy. Fingers crossed that all is well.
3. Wadi, it sounds like your grey has chosen your father as his favorite. There are a lot of posts about biting. Why don't you type "biting" in the search forum box at the top of the page and read about biting. That might help you with your problem or at least help you understand it. Some times our greys just want to be left alone it all depends on the circumstances. There are times when my sweet Ana Grey doesn't want to be bothered with me. I just leave her alone and come back later. Our greys like alone time sometimes just like we do.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/08/08 03:52

11. Watched Dayo's faucet video again. Still get a kick out of it!!!!
12. Debbie cantaloupe has a lot of water in it so that's why the poop is watery. Because your bird ate mostly water. Most fruits have a lot of water in them. Vegetables and pellets are very important. Always have pellets in your bird's cage.
13. snick1899, I am so sorry. I hope your baby Kusuku is safe. Don't give up looking!!
14. JillyBeanz we're honored having you here all the time!!! You're a great member!!!!
15. No problem, always have a stash of Margaritas' in the freezer. For medicimal purposes, of course. Just stop by and we'll drink...I mean talk about it!!
16. My fids have pellets in a bowl at all times. I also have a bowl for seeds and dried fruit which I fill as needed, every three days or so. I give nuts as treats throughout the day. In the morning I give my fids raw fresh vegetables or frozen/mirco vegetables. I refresh the vegetables with fresh fruit and some of my dinner if appropriate at evening time. I always make sure there is fresh water available 24/7. There are foraging devices throughout the house for them to snack on as they like.
17. Both of my fids were chipped when I got them. I have ladders and hanging knotted ropes and things hanging on their cages and on the hanging perches and boings all over the house. Frankly they use them to get up not down. They just glide down from their cages or boings and travel where they want. I have all wood floors and for some reason my fids do not go near my outlets or cords (most are behind furniture. I live alone so I am able to keep an eye on them as the only distraction I have is the Forum!
18. Yes I would say Harvey does love his millet!!! Great pictures!!!!
19. Hey I'm a transplanted California (42 years ago) and live in Washington State and I love it here. It is usually green and lush. The summers are getting warmer and usually the winters aren't snowy for very long except of course in the mountains. You can go from the mountains to the beach in about 2 hours in some areas. Where are you moving to in Washington, Jen? A lot of Californians are moving to Washington.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/08/09 20:52
20. The temperature is 67.9° in southern Washington State. It is overcast and very grey not a cloud in the sky.
21. Love the pictures of Ecko peeping out at you through the blinds. Loved the shots. Sorry about the blinds.
22. Ana Grey still does this at a year old. Kym you're a good parront and very observant. Enjoy your sweet baby!
23. Yes there are ice cubes in Ana Grey's "pool." She likes ice cubes. Davey, read your poem to Ana Grey and she make her kissy sound so I think she likes it! Thanks for the great poem!!! Thanks everyone for your great wishes for Ana Grey!
24. Oh your poor sweet grey, what a traumatizing experience for her with the parrot shop lady. Your grey is probably a little leery now so just talk to her calmly and be gentle until she is over her fright. It might take a little time so be patient. It's true you can't teach them not to bite but you can tell them "no bites" and they do understand, some times they listen and stop biting. It depends of how much they want to listen to you or have what they want. You and your grey got off to a good start so be patient and all will be fine and you will get back to that place with her. What is your grey's name? And welcome to the grey family!
