  1. Although I hope this sweet grey is returned to loving parronts, IF this is not the case then Kismet is at work for you Paul and I pray and have my fingers crossed that the void for both of you can be filled with this union. That you both will be able to help each other with love.
  2. Love your grey's name! He is quite handsome1 Congratulations on your sweet baby!
  3. Tumba as very loved and cared for with such love and is now healthy, talking and flying high like a youngster once again. He was so lucky to have such loving parronts and you so lucky to have such a magnificent grey to remember. I hope you find that older grey that needs you. Perhaps there is a bird rescue place in your area as there are so many abandoned parrots out there who need caring parronts.
  4. It's strange, the mind of a grey. When I first brought Sterling home he still ate formula in the evening for about a week. Ana Grey would sit on my shoulder and watch me give him ihs formula which was basicaly hold the spoon and let Sterling gobble it up! He didn't really eat too much as he was eating "real food" already. Ana Grey would calming sit on my shoulder and when Sterling was "full" she would eat a few nibbles of formula. She never attacked him or anything. Such a good mommy she was. She and Louie would both attack Sterling when he was in the office. But when Ana Grey more or less stopped so did Louie. I believe Louie sees Ana Grey as the "boss" He goes nicely into his cage if Ana Grey is already in hers. She is the leader and he is a good solider and follows his "general". Now Sterling is the biggest but he is just a sweet "country boy" who calming goes where I put him. He will protect his "territory" if Ana Grey or Louie try to take it. As I have said before for some reason they have never fought in the bird room. It is neutral territory and all three mind their Ps and Qs. Sterling is the largest and he weighs in at 505 grams. Ana Grey is a mere 300 grams. She flies like a sonic jet and Sterling is a lumbering helicopter but when he gets his new flight feathers.... look out Ana Grey and Louie!
  5. This is great news! Hooray to Shyloh! It's always great when a re-homed grey finds a new parront he loves!!!!!
  6. An update on my greys: Ana Grey (TAG) is now 3 years old and is as ornery as ever. The one nice thing is that she has stopped trying to dismember Sterling Gris my 7 month of CAG. Perhaps she has finally figured it out... that Sterling is not going anywhere and she will have to learn to live with him. Even my zon, Louie, has given up on trying to make Sterling disappear. Hooray! So here are new pictures of my two greys: Little Ana Grey and Macho Man Sterling Gris"
  7. Hi Kitten, congratulations on finally finding the right grey for you! Welcome to the Grey family. Can't wait to see some pictures of your baby and see some pictures!!

  14. This is a great story. I read it in the Rescue Room and was very touched. It gives us all hope that we will be able to bring our birdies home if they decide to take a journey without us! Bless the finder of Sunny who brought him home!
  15. Great pictures. Love the broccoli eating one!!!! Your grey is beautiful and pictures are always welcome!!!
  16. Gee Dave, post your address and 'll be glad to collect a few bags of feces from my three and send them over to help with ingredients for your product, Organic Splatters! LOL!!! (Glad everyone is playing nicely here!!!! )
  17. I don't think this is a valid worry. If he has to go he will go, it is something that no one, animal or human can control for long! I would be more concerned about him wondering where you are for so long. so make sure Issac knows that you will be back a little later than usual. I am with my parrots all day long so it is unusual for me to be gone for very long. When I am going somewhere for the day or just to the store I always tell them 'I'll be back" so that they will know when I will be missing for awhile. You have a very unique relationship with Issac so just talk to him and tell him what is going on.
  18. This movie is from the book The Loop by Joe Coomer, I have sent off for a copy of the book. Thanks for the heads up!
  19. Hi Zephyr welcome to the Grey family! You need to give your new friend some time to settle in and not rush him into anything. Let him come to you and set the pace. Your grey is quite handsome and I look forward to hearing more about him. What is your new friend's name?
  20. Hi Sonya, welcome to you and Ozzy! Looking forward to learning more about Ozzy and hearing how his settling in goes!
  21. My TAG is female and so am I. She is totally bonded to me. She does like my two grandson, one is 22 and one is 11. She flies to them and loves to sit on their shoulders. My daughter, my TAG will tolerate, if she has piistachios! My CAG is young and male and he loves everyone once I let him know they are all right! So I don't believe it matters as long as you grey is socialized well.
  22. Abbie21187 is right, if your zon is good, why not. My TAG use to nip my ears so I would not let her on my shoulder. I would flick her off and say "No, bites". Well she learned not to bite and is regularly allowed on my shoulder now. My CAG is also allowed as he is not a nipper. If my zon wanted on my shoulder he would be welcome also if there are not BITES!
  23. Yes they do repeat words they like. Have you tried talking with Rita when she says "going outside"? Like, "can I come, too?" I think it is wonderful that she is increasing her vocabulary! Hooray for Rita!
