Great video of Calypso . I a glad all is well with Calypso. I had to watch the Calypso The Talking Amazon video too. I'm a good girl!!!
-
I listened to the audio several times and tried to understand the audio but all I could get was as others have said, bodily sounds, laughing, something about a table and perhaps toast. It was interesting to listen to your grey so I am glad you found a way to share Miss Lily with us.

Your Avatar picture is one of my favorite. Ivan looks so sweet and happy!!!!
-
So glad that your amazon is now okay. This has never happened to my Louie, or any of my parrots. Thank goodness you know your zon so well and were able to figure out how to best help her. My zon is always chomping on wooden toys or other materials so I suspect you were right to assume that she had ingested some material/pellet that was hung up and needed a little push/water to go on down. I can only suggest that you ask your avian vet what the problem might have been. Regardless, you where there to help and I am so glad she is fine now. I would love to see some pictures of your sweet lady. (hint, hint) and perhaps an update on her activities!!!!! That's what this Amazon Room is for, so we can brag about our feathered zons!!!

Hi Hannah, congrats on your new baby! What a lovely story about how Marceline captured your heart!!!! Looking forward to seeing some pictures and hearing about her homecoming!!!
-
LOL!!!!! No pressure!!!! LOL!!!!

There is something you should really keep in mind about Ivan. It seems he is getting really comfortable being part of your "family" and he has been with you for 2 weeks already so if you are unsure be careful that you don't break his heart by letting him get really use to you and then you deciding to let him go. Just something to think about, as greys really are very sensitive and loving balls of feathers.

Ana Grey is always into this or that. She has learned to get out of her cage, I just need to be more careful about latching the door!!!! She loves to open containers and steal pistachios. Although I use plastic twist top lids that doesn't help. Chewing into potato chip bags or other bags of goodies she loves is not sacred in this house. My beautiful plants are all a chewed up mess. All my parrots love green foliage! If my parrots aren't in a room minutes after I center another room, I go looking for them because that means they are up to no good. I am never lonely although I live alone because my parrots truly keep me on my toes and very busy!!!

My CAG is now 6 months old and makes all kinds of chirping and birdy sounds. I would swear he said what sounded like "hello" but he was in the other room so... I know it wasn't my other two parrots because they were in the living room with me. So we will just keep listening. Perhaps Sterling will be an early talker, perhaps not, For now, I'll just have to wait and see and just keep talking to them all. Just be patient if they are going to talk it will be in their own time and their own schedule.

Ivan looks very happy and comfortable with you. I have a TAG and I find her to be very easy going. TAGs to me are more adaptable than CAGs (I have one of those too.) I think you have already made up your mind so make it official already!!!!! LOL!!!
-
Oh I'm sorry about the ticket. Darn policeman he needs to go eat a doughnut or something!!!!! LOL!!! (just slapped myself for that one LOL!) Your zon is so regal so I'm betting on your baby being a girl!!! Can't wait to hear the dna results! And more pictures of course!

Congratulations on re-homing Shyloh, she does sound like a lovely grey. I wish you and Shyloh all the luck in the world. I love it when greys/parrots are given another chance at happiness.

My parrots have their rituals and pretty much do as they want around my house. They are not furniture wreckers and I am very grateful for that!!! I have three and although they are out most of the day, they do not sit on me all the time. They have perches or boings close by and sometimes follow me around. Sometimes they just sit in the bird room and come looking for me for a nut or other treat. I love the fact that they are independent. So relax and let your grey get comfortable. If you are relaxed so will your grey be. Our greys can read us so quickly and easily if you give them a chance.

Great photos, I love to see a happy grey and owner! My parrots do their best talking when I'm on the phone. Go figure!!! Have you tried going into the room and repeating some of the things Aristotle has been saying. Or if he is asking for anything bringing it in for him? Or perhaps he just needs a little more time to get use to things and to feel more comfortable with you. If we could only read our grey's mind!!!! LOL!!!

I feed my parrots each of the foods you mentioned. The tuna is drained from the can and popped in with their frozen vegetables I am heating in the microwave. The eggs are sometimes boiled then mixed with vegetables and I also give them scrambled eggs with a little chorizo or other breakfast meat and chopped veggies. Chicken is usually roasted and I have tried to given them leg bones but they prefer breast or thigh! I also give them roast beef or other meats and fish I am eating. They like shrimp!

Hi Sue, love the introduction! You are going to be a great asset to this forum, I can tell! LOL!!! Rosa sounds like a real mischievous ball of feathers and I can't wait to see some pictures! Welcome to the Grey family!

Your baby is just adorable! Can't wait to hear what you have decided to name this little fireball. I am so excited for you. Love the zons!!!

I have three parrots and what I originally wanted was a cockatoo. I truly wanted a Too like Fred! When I decided I could finally get a parrot, I did more research and personal looking into cockatoos and found them to be very needy parrots wanting to be with their owners constantly. Not for me! So make sure you do your research about cockatoos to see if it is a parrot that you want. Frankly I love my amazon, Louie, he is very comical and a great talker. Definitely an independent kind of parrot. Also, I don't find that my parrots are companions for each other. They like me and being with me or sitting by themselves. They do not spent time together as buddies. So if you get another parrot, make sure the parrot is something you and your fiance want. To me it sound like Ollie is getting along just fine on his own.

As others have said, it will be all right. Your parrots will adjust. I spent about three days at my daughter's and my parrots all remained in their travel cages those days. My daughter has a lab and two cats that love bird and I don't mean as friends. It was necessary to keep my parrots safe. You know they didn't seem to mind. Once they were back home they went back to their old schedule, out all day, with no problems and no hard feelings. So relax, enjoy your new job and your parrots on your new schedule.

Hi CLB so glad you and Shadow decided to join the Grey family! Shadow is quite handsome and I look forward to venturing with you during your greyt journey!
-
Hi Charity, Zazu is so lucky to have found you! What a great introduction, by the way. I look forward to hearing more about him and seeing some pictures (hint, hint). Welcome to the Grey family!
-
Your grey is a little confused now. He doesn't know what he did to have his ability to fly taken away. I suggest you try to be natural and talk to him to regain his trust. It will take time just as it would take a human time to get use to two broken legs for example. Love him and comfort him and hopefully he will relax again and be able to trust you again.

Hi Susannah, welcome to you and Bailey! I commend you for trying to learn all you can before Bailey comes to live with you. So please, read, read, read, but remember all greys are different so most important is to read your new grey, learn all you can from his prior parront and family so that you will know his likes, dislikes and little quirks and what his schedule is. Both of you will have to make adjustments because greys are so intelligent and can be tricky little devils. It's nice to know he is use to dogs so it will be up to you get your family pets use to Bailey. I look forward to traveling this new journey with you. Welcome to the Grey family!!!!
-
Well it's nice to hear from you! Ecko is certainly looking good, congratulations on the end of plucking!!! Whisper is a real cutie! Love those TAGs they are usually the sweetest little fids. Now don't disappear on us again. You are certainly missed around here!!!!
-
Congratulations on your new baby zon!!! You won't be sorry. A zon is certainly different than a grey or other parrot, they are fun, comical and so very funny!! I can't wait to see your pictures!!! Let's see names: Bailey, Taylor, Sage, Skylar, Rylee. Since your little amazon is feisty and rowdy how about: Buster or Sassy. Can't wait to hear more about your little ball of feathers!
