It could be new feathers coming in and he is a bit sensative.I cant think of anything else at the moment. Its not a new harness is it?

I know Charlie would just never allow me to put a harness on him.Some just wont tolerate it. Its a shame he hates having it put on if he likes the outdoors.Only you know if the stress of putting it on is worth it,Myself I would not continue if he is stressed.I cant say why he has taken a turn against the harness,its strange,perhaps the last time you removed it or put it on him before your holiday he had a bad experiance or could he be moulting and be more sensative?<br><br>Post edited by: she, at: 2009/08/15 17:24

Hi and welcome. With 25 years experiance of greys you will have a lot to offer in terms of experiance to the forum.My grey is 6-7 years old but we also have a grey in its 40s in the family who has been with us all his life since being wild caught in Africa and brought home all those years ago when my cousin was at sea.I have a real soft spot for the older greys.

That is interesting,Charlie is DNA male I have never thought of giving him an egg like object but It would be amazing to see how he reacted.

Charlie uses my voice but my Dad will sometimes come round to my house for a bit when I am at work to keep the birds company and Charlie does sometimes talk in his voice.

So funny.Dixie is a smart bird.I am glad it was not a real emergency.

I hope something can be done Pat.I looked at a photo you posted hear when Harley first came home and one you posted just the other day, I comented that Harley looked as if he has put weight on.How about taking the two photos to the vet as some evidence.I could see Harley looking better in such a short time.

Jill, I had Charlies band removed after reading a very upsetting post on hear. Charlies band was a split band and posed more of a risk in my view than a closed band.I have the removed band safe and his microchip is his id.The decision to remove Harveys band is up to you but Yes I would recomend removal.<br><br>Post edited by: she, at: 2009/08/13 20:35

Oh there are strings attached alright,a ring like that costs serious money.Keep it and enjoy,or use for a time or cause as you see fit.

I had Charlies band removed for safety reasons. He is microchipped.

Henry is a very good lucking grey and has a good nature from the sounds of it.

Please choose the wire very carefully. Galvanised,welded wire is an open invitation for heavy metal poison.I thing a 14 gauge wire would be about strong enough for a grey.My outdoor aviary is on concrete flags and it is easy to hose down and clean,I do this every time the birds have been out in it. Have a look on my profile page to see a photo of it. It may give you some ideas.My birds love going out when the weather is fine.
