    Cracker photo

I had to post a pic of Cracker, he felt left out after I posted one of Charlie
  2. Welcome Tracie. You are doing a good job with your baby.Daves advise is spot on as far as I know.
  3. If Charlie plays with new toys outside the cage I can usually put them inside.I put them in the room for a bit, then hang on the outside bottom of the cage and gradually move them up.when he pecks at them It is usually ok to put them in.Cracker has no fear and I can usually just put his toys right in.
  4. Oh what a heart rending story. The poor women.Yet still managing somehow to care for her birds.Could the vet not have helped in anyway,if only putting her intouch with someone who could help. I will most surely keep her in my thoughts and preyers.
  5. Rocky is gorgious. He looks well.I too would not last through christmas waiting for him.It is a sensible decision though, and you are putting the birds welfair first. well done.

    Thanks I will watch it.
  9. Just take it slow. You have years to train your parrot to do things like step up. He is very young and nervious in his new home.Right now he just needs to settle in and become friends with you.Just keep talking to him and give him treats by hand if he will take them. This will help him associate hands with good things. When he is more settled you can then move forward. This should be done in his own time, when he is good and ready.
  10. Yes you have fantastic children.Brilliant picture.
  11. Those first words always seem to shock, in a pleasent way.I am so pleased for you and zeero.
  12. I think this is just a normal noise for him. It could be growling but Useally they growl when they are afraid and feel threatened.Does he appear like this to you? His vet work was all fine so I would not worry.
  13. He is most probabley moulting. I have seen this sort of thing with Charlie and the cockatiel cracker. I guess it is normal now and then to get rid of a load of old feathers.

He must b e feeling very confused.Take each day as it comes with him and keep us all informed of your progress and ask ask ask. I hope your new buddy has found a home he can settle in for many many years, if not forever.Good luck and best wishes.
