  2. I am so sorry Poppy is no longer with you. Let you and your mum have a bit of time before deciding on another pet. Often when you are still so upset the wrong decision can be made. I am sure in time you will feel a bit better, then you can make a choice. Good luck and Godbless.
  3. Wow. Could cucumber really help with aspergilosis.Your bird seems to be coping extreamely well. I guess it takes a lot of care and attention to detail from you to keep Her well. well done you.
  4. Barbara I am so proud of you. It is not easy coping with a grey who is demanding every bit of your attention like Shadow was.I remember the post well. It looks like the 30 mins a day total interaction with Shadow has really helped calm down the situation.Keep up the good work but remember some days will always be a trial. I really feel both of you have come a long way. Keep us updated often. Sheila
  5. I am glad things are now on good ground with you and Tyco. They can be so moody at times.

I found out I was being set up about the echo and the bunnymen concert.I cant wait to go on Thursday but a friend of a friend was getting some good photos of us with the band but Thats not going to happen now. Still It should be a good night. I have swaped shifts in work For friday so I can be on lates and not be up at 5am.So a few drinks are on order for me.Charlie is on his play top chewing a book up and Cracker is eating a millet sprey, more cleaning up for me then.I am sure they create a mess for the fun of seing me tidy up after them. They have me very well trained.
  8. Yes you just continue to gain trust. It wont happen overnight but from your great update you can see improvements.Dont push to hard and let the bird guide you.You are doing ok so carry on but slowley.Sheila
  9. Hi and welcome to both yourself an Alfie.I am so pleased you done your homework before getting Alfie,it makes such a difference. I hope to hear more about the adventures of Alfie.
  10. Charlie loves plain shredded wheat,no milk just plain and he likes poridge off a spoon.Oh and he adores toast.
  11. Thanks. Its called Tetracyclin hear but same thing, just confused myself with the name difference
  12. Thanks Caroline. I just hope the promise I have been made by a work coleague is kept, if so Your Dave will be green with envy.Cant tell you yet, because I think I am being wound up.Lets just say I am looking forward to the gig.
  13. Fantastic video. I saw wild rhino in Kenya and have some brilliant videos of them and other animals. They are pure power and you can just feel it when they come any where close. I will try and master video posting next.
  14. I am concerned by you saying his breathing is not too bad. Does this mean his breathing is not normal.I take it that he has seen a vet for this latest problem and it sounds like he has been prescribed medication.I would take him back to the vet and say you are not happy with the birds health and have some bloodwork done. He has already had this problem before and I would want to get to the bottom of the cause.I am not sure if the medication is an antibiotic or not. I have given my grey antibiotics and have given them by mouth with a syringe.
  15. Dave. I do a similar thing when I dont want Charlie to fly to a place. I put something strange there and He will not go there. It really works.
  16. Sarge is sweet. You obviousely love him very much and it shows.Conures are great little birds.
  17. Hi Tucker is lovelly, and so his new little friend. Is he your son.
  18. Hello and welcome. What a zoo you have.I bet you never have a dull moment.
  19. I have no Paper work for Charlie and it did worry me a bit at first He turned out to be fantastic . He was I was told 7 months when I got him but who knows.I would not worry too much about it. It would be a good idea to have him checked by the vet,for your piece of mind.
  20. Nothing exciting happening , work bed clean eat, more cleaning work again. I will be visit my sisters at the weekend we usually have a laugh and all the nieces and nephews are there so its a bit mannic. I am going to see Echo and the Bunnymen next Thursday,I am really looking forward to it. We have a new Arena in Liverpool and it is a great venue and is attracting a lot of fantastic acts and shows. I went there to see Duran Duran a few months ago and they were fantastic.I saw them 20 odd years ago and I must admit I was half expecting to be disapointed but if anything they were better than ever.Simon Le Bon looked amazing.I was acting like a teenager again.Hope Echo match up to my teenage expectations It must be 25 years since I saw the perform.I have a great story linking echo and the Bunnymen to my place of work but I am not sure yet if I am being set up by a work colleague so will wait till after the show to see if it happens before I share it with you all. Have a nice weekend everyone.

    Cracker photo

If you look at my profile page there is a photo of cracker at 2 weeks old with his brood mate.He was such an ugly spud as a baby and never really improved till about 12-18 months old. I think the metal poison really slowed his development down. He is very lucky to be with us still. He is making up for lost time now though and yes he sure lets me know what he wants and god help me if he does not get it.I love him to bits.I think part hand rearing him makes him so special to me and very spoilt.
  22. Yes I watched the program. It really brought home how sensitive these exotic birds are.I felt so sad for the lady who had lost her husband,How hard must it have been for her.I did not agree with the poor rabbit.I think he was suffering a great deal and should have been put out of his missery.
  23. I would ask for as much history on the bird as possible.temperement, vet checks, was he hand reared, what is his diet, any hatch or sexing certificates, has he had any blood work done, why are they parting company with him, where was he purchased, how many homes has he had, will he step up,what sort of routine is he used to. The list could go on.Just go with your instincts. If something does not feel right ask about it.
