  1. Mabel, you are a lucky, lucky bird Congratulations!!!
  2. I may have written before that the Inland Empire is about 60 miles east of LA, about 60 mile west of Palm Springs with Interstate 10 going east-west and I 15 the main north-south freeway. The San Bernardino mountains are just to the north. Depending on traffic the Pacific Ocean is one-two hours away. For those who crave man made entertainment there are Disneyland, Sea World, Universal City, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mountain all within an hour or two. There are casinos on almost every reservation as well as in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many forget this is desert and there would be nothing here without water from the Colorado River as well as rivers from Northern California. Because it is desert it is hot in the summer and chilly in the winter. Mammoth Mountain is a popular winter sport destination. Some stay closer to home and play at Wrightwood and Big Bear. It is still Southern California and as such is over populated with traffic nightmares, year around fire season and frequent earthquakes and is over due for The Big One. But I still live here!
  3. Thank you for the warning. It is especially important now with the holidays nearing.
  4. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.
  5. This is so good!!! Thank you for the chuckles. AND I must be a grey!!! LOL
  6. Thank you for your friendships! I'm so fortunate. Precious is doing well, learning new words and improving with her flying skills. Remember I was one of the ignorant ones who had had her clipped.

  7. Just on line after a short, short week. So it was a tie. So take the point and run. Be glad for small favors! Brasil (Brazil for all you English speakers) knows how to play soccer (football for everone else in the world) Go team, go!
  8. Thanks for the update. Rene is making his feelings known very clearly. I hope time and patience will change his attitude.
  9. How sad, when so many birds are lost and then one found but not find the parront.
  10. Bernie, you are an impossible tease. You know waiting is NOT the name of the game. So do you have pics??? PLEEESE?
  11. Yes, the parront must be beside himself with worry and grief! I hope he is a member of this forum and knows to look here.
  12. Man! Are you people ever good! So great you're thinking of rehoming. Janet, and Jay, you are a walking encyclopedia, really a lot more than that. How does one person know so much about thes birds?
  13. Thank you for such a wonderful story about Bud. It sounds as if the two of you are the best of frinds. I'll be waiting for more stories.
  14. Maggie, that is too, too good. These Greys!!!
  15. Laura, how clever of you! You will find the perfect name for your new baby. I remember the thrill also. I knew my husband was to get this awesome, marvelous gift maybe a month or more before his birthday, but I couldn't say a word! Oh, the waiting was terrible! Then when I actually saw this wonderful. gorgeous ball of feathers with beady black eyes, I could hardly contain myself! You would have thought she was mine!!! (She is now.) I am so happy for you.
  16. Absolutely and it is obvious, but it IS fun to tease.
