Aah thank you Dee! You're idea to skip the camping is spot on! Although it was good fun, I like my comfort a bit too! Have a great time next week - can't wait to see you're pics and video!!

Lol - that's far too technical for me! I prefer Judy's explanation!!
-
That is so funny! New words are so exciting. Cherish these precious memories - did you get it on video? I wish I'd kept a word journal for Alfie's talking milestones - I still should, but I'm so crap at keeping a diary! Congrats on Hawkins first words!

That looks like a good toy. I'm needing some more stuff for Alfie, I may look into one of these! -
I love to gaze up at the stars, I marvel at the Milky Way, But the brightest star I have seen, Is Alfie, my African Grey. New word - clown.

Such a sad story Jess, thank you for sharing, it can't have been easy. But at least something good did come of it, you learned and became the person you are today from it. I had a similar experience many years ago with a conure.

Lol - so funny - I would love to spend the day at your house!!

Glad to hear Aoodi is feeling better, hope she continues to improve.

Ooh things are going to be interesting for you for a while! Keep us posted on how her behaviour develops please - all new territory! Hope your sweet little girl doesn't change too much!

Lol - no!! Holidays are exhausting!!! It's taken me all week to recover!!! Seriously though, we did have a smashing time, and it's great to know we can go off for a few days and Alfie will cope with it all! Thanks for the lovely comments folks, glad you enjoyed the vid - we sure enjoyed making it!!! x

Lol Julie, sorry - crossed lines - I didn't think the word given had to actually rhyme with something - I just thought it had to be incorporated in some way!!! HAhahHA!

Hi Folks, Some of you may know we took Alfie for a nights camping a few weeks ago. We got on so well, we packed everyone up again and set off for a bit longer this time, and a bit farther afield. Over the weekend, we were camping at Loch Lomond, well, I say camping, we stuck it out for two nights then moved into B&B when the midges and the campbed got too much for us!! The campsite was on the east shore of the Loch, and the B&B, The Ardlui Hotel was at the very top. Both lovely spots, but I can thoroughly recommend the Hotel for anyone wanting to go for a wee break with their pets in the UK - they were very dog and parrot friendly, our furred and feathered friends were permitted to dine with us - something we don't come across very often in the Borders, so it was a lovely change. Alfie was a huge hit with everyone and got lots of attention, and the owner believed that in his 50 years in the hotel, Alfie was their first feathered resident. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay, getting room service and long lies!! She took absolutely everything in her stride, travelled very well and was on her best behaviour. There are soooooo many photos, so rather than post them on here, I've made a little slideshow and put it on YouTube for anyone who is interested. We all had a lovely time, and would definitely like to go back there sometime. We didn't get a chance to see the wallabys of Wallaby Island, but that's another story for another day!! Hope you and yours are all well. Lyn & McAlfie XX [video=youtube;2-V74GswjwY]

Tobie's 3rd hatchday today - June 15th
pearllyn replied to Janfromboone's topic in Happy Bird-Day Room
Sorry I missed it yesterday Tobie - happy hatchday! Hope you had a wonderful day and got spoiled rotten!! I'm sure you got lots of lovely treats! -
The beggar stood cap in hand at the pearly gates and spoke with St Peter as if they were mates, he said "my life has been full of loving and giving, a home loving man I've worked hard for a living, I've helped those in need, at cost to myself, and took in waifs and strays nursing them back to health. The money I've earned, I've given away, to poor souls in need - they've had all my pay, I've tried very hard to lead the right life, I've held my head high even in times of strife" St Peter listened to every word with such grace, then quietly whispered with a smile on his face, Son I can tell you are simlply a liar, But come away in, for God loves a trier. New word - peanut.

Come the end of the day with it's dusky light we should all be tucked up in our beds for the night. New word - crazy.

Ooh no no no, stuff like this is not good. I didn't see the posts in question, but there have been a few heated debates creeping in lately about one thing or the other, and I hate to see it, this forum is too helpful to too many people to have it jeapardized like this. I do hope FredGrey reconsiders his membership here and accepts that what he has experienced, while it is a bad first impression to have, is not the norm of what goes on here. I would also hate to lose any existing members we have here, Jillybeanz included, whom I believe is a valued member of our community. Unfortunatly Penny, it has fallen to you to step in, on this occasion and say your piece. I'm glad you have done this time as we just can't have anyone coming in and feeling unwelcome.

Poor little scrap - he and his humans must be beside themselves. Thank goodness he's flown into the hands of someone who willl help him to get home! Good luck Judy.
