Great idea Birdkeeper, from one idea many different one's come. Keep up the great ideas and if you have pictures of your idea, post them under a different topic, so the whole world can see:laugh: We are all so proud of what we can create, just to have it ripped to shreads a few minutes later (which of course is the best compliment of all):woohoo: :woohoo: Carolyn & Mika

Mika at about 6 months old decided to start climbing down his cage, and sliding down the legs to come find me. While I loved the idea that he wanted to be with me so much I was afraid that either I would step back on him or there would be a problem with the dog or cat:pinch: Dave gave me so very good advise and that was just pick him up and keep returning him back to were ever he had been (very straight forward) and a firm no. After do this for about 5-6 times a day over a week, Mika got so smart that if he new I was coming he would try very hard to scramble back up before I got there. Keeping this up for another few days, and he was over it. The sliding down just stopped but it did take the better part of almost 2 weeks, I just believe you have to be on top of it everytime it happens and they get the point, then they try again, then just give up trying and learn you will not accept this behavior. (even thought you still think it is sweet) but don't let then no this:woohoo: Hope this helps, Dave's advise has never let me down yet. Carolyn & Mika

Great idea Bondsmom, have to make a few surprize bundles and try this out with Mika, I work all day also and I am always looking for new ways to keep him from getting bored. There are only so many cartoons you can watch in a day, but then Mika is a CSI fan himself every season every CSI:laugh: Carolyn & Mika

Ok, come on you guys don't be shy all of a sudden. Here lets start with a nice easy one. Wrap almonds or raisens or any other kind of nut you like, in a cup cake wrapper. Tie it on a long string and then to your cage, they love to haul it up and rip away the paper for a surprize inside.:woohoo: Takes about 10 min. to make, and about that long to destroy when they got the idea. Happy wrapping Carolyn & Mika P.S. Sorry the pic is not the best, but you get the idea. Carolyn & Mika

This is Mika's very first Christmas tree, for him to totally distroy on Christmas Day. It is all made from paper and cardboard, and a cardboard box. It took a few tries but this is the finished result. Everything here is bird safe. Carolyn & Mika (Don't tell him its a surprize)

Lost African Grey - Fairhope/Daphne Area of Alabama

I am so sorry to hear that Albus is missing and my thoughts are with you - Please contact Parrot911.com and put up your information on Albus. Also I am sure you have, contacted all Vets in your area and animal shelters. Word of mouth seems to be the best way with posters you are able to both post and hand out. Try posting posters in all Pet shops and make them aware that a bird is missing. Contact the local police department and report the bird missing for 2 reasons, they are always out in the neighborhoods but also if there was to be a question of the ownership of a found bird, you have a report on file. I wish you the best and please let us no how things are going. Carolyn & Mika -
Congradulations on your break through with Gizmo, he is just such a beautiful boy and a great addition to your flock. Keep up the good work, and keep us updated on Gizmo's progress. Carolyn & Mika
