Hi Dawn, so glad you've joined us. This really is a great place to get info on greys. I hope you find everything you are looking for, and if you don't, just ask.
Hello GorgASS- welcome here! Glad to see you are doing your research before bringing home your grey. That second cage looks great and its a good price too for one that size. The play area on top is always nice to have too- my bird really enjoys spending time on top of his cage.
Hi Aubri- glad you've joined the forum. Sounds like you are very excited about your soon to be new member of your flock! Ask away any questions you have- just pick the room that most matches the topic of your question...
Vanity- Lyric loves to look at his reflection in a mirror. He gives himself kisses and his eyes pin and he moves his head around to look at himself better. I really do think he knows its his reflection and not another bird because he's scared of most other birds or intimidated by them. I'll ask him if he wants to go see how pretty he is and everytime he lifts his foot for me to show he's ready to go!
That's a very exciting looking bird room you have there, and some very pretty birds too. Looks like they have lots of fun things to play on- great job! Thanks for sharing with us!
Hi Sevi- I was just reading your post and wondered if things had improved? I hope so, those little temper tantrums don't sound like a fun thing to deal with.
He's really a handsome fella, I don't think he looks bad at all. You've done a marvelous job with him so far Pat. Thanks for sharing him with all of us.
Simba is very pretty and I'm glad you are going to be giving him a new home. He's plucking for sure. A molting bird looks a little scruffy but not like this- see how you can see the fluffy underfeathers on his back? This is because he's plucked the grey feathers that cover them. It looks like he's chewed some of the feathers as well. He may be nervous from the pet store environment. Hopefully when you get him home and he settles down the behavior will stop. I'd definitely take him to an avian vet first thing for a check up too.
Wonderful news. Now you'd better watch out Pat, her and Fergie might decide to take over the world together! Congratulations on her first long flight...
Thank you both for your opinions.
Last night I got Lyric to play on the playstand on top of Sadie's cage. Sadie seemed excited about it- I think she misses her brother and would love for Lyric to be a playmate if he wasn't scared of her. Lyric was getting pretty brave and at one point I had to move him off the playstand because he was trying to reach her beak through the bars. I didn't want them to hurt each other. Perhaps by taking baby steps like this I can get them more used to each other.
Wow Sugarbeth, that's going to be one lucky little birdie! I like the treestand! Looks like your next step is finding a great cage. I wish you luck in your search for a TAG- I'm not in your area, but it seems maybe luvparrots breeder would be a good match. Keep us updated!
Hi Julie, welcome here. What great pictures of your flock- they are beautiful birds.
I'm a Heroes fan too- love Hiro's name!
Looking forward to seeing more of your great photos and hearing more about you and your posse!
Hello MrCongo- welcome here. It's wonderful that you are giving him a fresh start in life. I'm surprised he has already stepped up for you, but that's a good sign and perhaps just a glimpse of what's to come.
Hi Debbie!
Great to see you on here and posting. I know everyone will love it if you keep them updated on Sterling and how things are going.
I think this forum is a great source of information and a reference for any bird owner. Not to mention it's a wonderful place to meet others who share your passion for birds.
