Hi Kaskoo, Welcome to the forum. Can you tell us a little more about your CAG? How old is he? Has he always behaved like this? There is lots of useful information here, have a look in the Bird Food room for ideas on how to introduce new foods to your greys diet. Here is some information on how to teach your bird to play which you might find useful. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73105-teaching-your-baby-to-play.html We look forward to hear all about your grey:) Siobhan

That is so scary! You seem so calm about it. I shall be thinking of you today. Please let us know if you can how you and Elmo get through.

 That is so cute. Does she say "No wussy birds?" I tell Oisin he is a wuss all the time. Funny I think he thinks thats a good thing:unsure:

You can resize them in Microsoft Paint. Just open up the picture in Paint and go to Image - Stretch/Skew. Stretch Horizontal and Vertical by the same percentage;)

Hi Kevin, Welcome to the forum! There is lots of information on the site about new baby greys, especially in the Nursery room. A useful thread is this one about bringing home your baby http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/72855-bringing-home-your-baby-grey.html In order to have your grey step up you should place your hand in front of him on his belly just above his feet. By gently pushing his belly he should step up. As you are training him use the same command such as "Step Up" so he learns to associate the phrase with stepping up. Siobhan

Bonkers is a great name for him considering how he has been behaving since you got him. Baxter and Bonkers! How cute:)

Mistyparrot wrote: {Feel-good-00020069} You do have a point there... And they arent very good on household chores either. I have been trying to teach mine to clean their own cages for ages now. My kids clean their own rooms, I expect my greys to do the same;)

What to do when there is construction in the house
siobha9 replied to Janfromboone's topic in The GREY Lounge
I had some work done on my kitchen which is next to the room the birds are in and they were absolutely fine. But it was only woodwork. Once there is no chance of the dust from the work getting into Tobies room I would leave him where he is comfortable. Or consider the study. I would be a bit reluctant to bring him to a strange house, with dogs as this would upset him more;) -
I'm sorry but I have never heard of collard greens? That is another one of those foods that never made it to Ireland

Oisin is afraid of everything. He is a real nervous little bird, and Liath is the total opposite. The only thing that has really scared her so far, was when my kids decided to pitch a tent in the dining room. Mind you that freaked me out a little as well;)

Hi Bonnie Welcome to the forum. That is a lovely picture and a pretty CAG I see another couple of cages in the background - what other birds do you have? There is an Other Bird room here that you can post pictures of them too if you like;) Siobhan

Hi Mareee, Welcome to the forum! I am delighted you are finding the information here useful, and I wish you the very best of luck with your new TAG. He is a young baby, so although it will take some time he will adapt to his new life. Congratulations! Siobhan

Hi Greg and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will enjoy it here;) Congratulations on getting Lily home and its nice to hear she is settling in well. Don't get to used to the quiet side as I'm sure once she gets used to you and her new home she will start chirping and chattering:) Siobhan<br><br>Post edited by: siobha9, at: 2008/08/18 08:56 -
We live a very sheltered existence on this side of the Atlantic;) I always thought corn was corn:unsure:

It sounds like you have made great progress with both of them They are both still relatively young so you will hopefully have many more years of enjoyment!

Hi Steve, That's brilliant news! You have a grey in the house again Congratulations! I can't wait for the pictures

Guinness is the cheapest drink you can get here... you are shopping in the wrong place;)

{Feel-good-0002006E} This is the funniest story I have read in ages! I am crying with laughter here, my daughter just came flying into the room to ask what was so funny! And now she is laughing hysterically as well! Carolyn you certainly have a great way with a story! Thanks for the laugh!

Hi Olla, I am sorry to hear that the situation is no better, or indeed a little worse since he is now afraid of other people too. Unfortunately the only advise I can give you is patience and yes, to wait more. I know that's probably very frustrating, but there are some positives. The fact that he let you scratch his head when you came back from holidays, means he really does love you and trust you. He is just not relaxed around you yet as Dave007 said earlier. Good luck with him, and thank you for keeping us updated.

  What??? No Pics!!! Next time take a camera Sounds like Rexxy did great for a first time. It usually takes a lot longer and a lot of temptation of toys and treats to convince them to even try a toe in the water. So well done!! Pity about the pictures though

I've definitely seen those books, but I'm not sure if I saw them here or not:unsure: Thank you for posting them again though. Even if they are here, no one would be able to find them:)

 I wonder who Klaus is trying to convince? He's probably telling you he is a pretty bird, so you dont get mad when you discover his latest misdemeanour!

Yes they must be worried He sounds adorable and quite tame so someone must have loved him. And obviously they were looking after him and giving him out of cage time or he wouldnt have been able to escape;) But I don't get why they havent plastered posters over everything and everywhere in your neighbourhood? If I lost one of my birds, I know I'd do that. So maybe you'll never find the owners, and you will be able to keep him. Just another idea, do you have a local radio station? Maybe you could put an appeal on it without mentioning the type of bird, and you might find them that way.

We were thinking about calling him "Mo Money" - great idea for a name. Personally I would wear one shirt for the grey and one for the nanday. You dont know anything about this bird, or where he has been before you neighbour found him so I would be extra careful. And the handwashing and separate rooms is a must also. You might find an owner for him in the next few days, but if he leaves your grey sick you would be devastated. So take every precaution you can!
