  1. It does sound as if he is mad with you for something alright. Most likely its the shower. But chances are since he is already letting you scratch his head he will forgive you - eventually:laugh: You have to give him time to have his little sulk and make sure you understand fully how annoyed he is with you:unsure:
  2. Aw that is good news! I think you got him to the vet so early he has a fairly good chance. The poor little guy;) So what does the vet think it is? Or is he just giving him antibiotics just in case?
  3. I'm the opposite I'm afraid I brought the basics home with my grey. I had waited so long for her I was afraid I would jinx it if I got the stuff in advance:unsure: Of course I spent the next 2 years shopping for her!
  4. Hi Streetrida, Welcome to the grey forum. I hope you find what you are looking for here. Its great that you are doing your research before bringing home your grey. Siobhan

  7. Poor little Spike! I have baby cockatiels, and I cant imagine how I would feel if anything happened to one of them. I will keep not only him, but you too in my thoughts today and I sincerely hope he will be ok. It sounds like you got him to a vet pretty quickly so hopefully he will make it. Poor little guy
  8. Hi Ben, Welcome to the grey forums. How long have you had your grey and how old is it? what have you called it?
  9. I missed this post last week, as I was away for a few days. Such dreadful news:( Have you had any news from the vet yet as to a cause of death?
  10. I think Casper is a great name for either too. And once she's happy her name doesnt really matter does it? I've often wondered why you called yourself Casper, Caroline! How did you get the nickname?
  11. Hi Bren, Welcome to the forum. With an eight year old CAG you must have loads of stories to share with us. Can you post some photos when you get a chance? As for the noise, the others are right, the only thing you can do is ignore him. Walk away and give him absolutely no attention. Its hard but its the only way;) Siobhan
  12. He is beautiful! Thank you for showing him to us! Siobhan
  13. Hi Jamricka, welcome to the forum! Siobhan
  14. I havent tried it either. I find they respond well to a treat and I havent felt the need to introduce a clicker as well. I also have problems negotiating the grey, the clicker and the treat:S
  15. I have a couple of ropes and things hanging from the ceiling although nothing as impressive as Susan;) . I have a clear plastic mat which I keep under the ropes. I have 2 of them so I just swap them when one needs cleaning.
  16. Hi Tony, Welcome to the grey forums. I look forward to hearing all about your greys and how your new grey settles down. Also we love pictures when you get a chance to post some;)
  17. Hi Brittney, Welcome to the grey forums. It is a great idea to join a forum like this and learn as much as you can about your baby before you bring him home. There is lots of information especially in The Nursery Room about baby greys. Please keep us posted on your search for a baby;) Siobhan

When you say gnats do you mean fruit flies? Here is a previous thread that may help. http://http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/72305-help-with-fruit-flies.html#72306

  23. Does anyone here use them?? I am wondering does the bird get covered in poop and how hard it is to clean it off. Also does the prolongued contact with bird poop cause any harm to the bird such as rashes etc?
