yeah...I smoke, but I never smoke in the house...I take it outside. I don't see whats so hard about that...granted I don't have snow here, but I go out in hurricanes for a smoke!

Amen sister! I work in appliance sales...I'm in the warehouse and handle damages, repairs, and delivery problems. It's been sooooo slow that I get all my work done in 30 min or less...then it's 7 1/2 hours of goofing off. I got egg on my face for sure posting this topic...as soon as I do everyone signs on and gets me for it. :silly: :laugh:

yeah, I guess I need to pick my word carfully...just wanted to know when people are not posting what they are up too...like reading old posts or looking at the photo album.

I ment that mainly Dan and Joe post during the day, I'll sit here all morning and there are very few postings...later on in the day is when I see everyone start.

I agree, go with what your bird wants. When I got mine it was a 5-minute car ride from the breeder to my house, so not to much excitement went into his travel to his new home. I let him settle in for a little bit and then I took him out a little before it was time for his dinner feeding (he was 6 1/2 weeks & 3 feeding a day.) After his first meal I put him back in his tub and let his food settle, then it was back out with mommy. He had always been with his siblings and would cry and cry until I took him out and put him on my chest...then he would fall right asleep. I say, if he seems timid with you let him settle for a day or so to let him get used to you.

I'm not sure how safe the black ink is, I'm sure someone knows on here though. My grey will shred just about any paper he get a hold of...I try to give him plain white paper towels when he seems to be in the mood for destruction. After meals mine will tongue the roof of his beak, which seems his preferred method.

I'm pretty lucky that mine isn't too much of a closet talker. He will chat up a storm for me, and sometimes my b/f. He shuts up when anyone else is around though.

OH GOSH...I'm so sorry Judy...That got to be something having a Grey screaming like a Sun. Lots of bleeding ear drums in your house, huh. :laugh: I actually just realized what the new noise my grey is making. When he first started going it about 2 weeks ago I thought he was making the squeaker noise from a dog toy, but then I remembered that all the dog toys no longer have a working squeaker in them...so the other night I started dialing my house phone to call my b/f and sure enough he starts making the new noise, it's the sound the phone makes when you hit the buttons. I thought it was really funny given the fact that he loves to talk on the phone...he will do everything he can to get on my chest/shoulders and put his beak to the phone and start chattering!

Well, I picked up the A.J. at Wal-Mart on my way home and first thing gave the baby his bath. At first I tried doing it while he was on his cage but as soon as he realized what was going on he took off, so then it was into the bathtub. He was NOT a happy camper...he was attacking the spray bottle every chance he got. After he got his temper tantrum out of his system he was a little more compliant...he would only go after the sprayer if it was in beaks reach. After he was all done with his bath he was right back to his happy self, and to tell you the truth, he actually seemed a bit happier than usual. I think he may just start to enjoy bath time. {Characters-00020067}

Well, when I got home from work, that’s when he is out for pretty much the rest of the day. He loves to sit on the shower rod even if I'm not in the bathroom and chatter to himself...I think he likes the acoustics in there. B) He also loves to sit on a perch next to the patio doors and watch the wild birds fly and land. He love apple sauce, blueberries, goldfish crackers, ice tea, and anything he sees going into my mouth. He loves to watch TV with me...I think his fav show is House. He also loves his cat toy balls, he just destroyed his other fav bird toy...it's the one that’s a wooden duck with rope at the bottom...so I need to get him a new one.

I'm all about ebay! You can even find Parrot toys for 99 cents sometimes...and if you find a bunch from the same seller you like they combine shipping. I have gotten my grey baby keys and things like that and he has yet to break them I use the same cat toys, laurie...he seems to like them more than anything else I put in there with him.

Yeah...petsmart.com does online shopping if you want to try that site. Maybe Katee.com? If you have to order online I would go for the larger bag and just take out a week or two's worth and put it into a smaller airtight container and put the rest in the freezer.

It sounds like you have all your bases covered. I would make sure there is no Teflon cook wear used, no smoking in the house, and no air fresheners. Also, go over with all your roommates the rules of being around your bird…like language and things like that. I used to bring my CAG to work all the time but I no longer do because some of the guys that would come in would patronize him when I wasn't in the room.
