    problem!!

You don't have to have a grey to post here...there are a lot of people that don't have birds that just add to topics with questions they may have. There is also our Off-topic forums and Game Room that have nothing to do with birds...you should check them out. I hope to keep seeing you posting on the site...and be sure to keep use all up-to-date on the pet store.
  2. I can't cook to save my life... The other week I tried to make Sloppy Joes using a pound of extra lean ground beef and the sloppy Joe sauce in a can. I went to brown the beef and found myself not knowing how to even do that! I continued browning till all the pink was gone and added the sauce and let it simmer, but I ended up chucking it because I thought it smelled funny and figured if I ate it I would get food poisoning.
  3. Thats so pretty Joe. Trina - Age is just a number to me too. I have an almost 10 year diff. with my boyfriend. He just turned 32 yesterday.
  4. Mine picks his nose ALL the time...he gets his claw tip in there and just starts digging. Whats funny is sometimes I see him take his nail out of his nose and starts bitting it...so mine not only picks but eats!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  5. I just ordered it so I don't have it yet:P . I just wanted to know so it didn't go bad on me if I was suposed to keep it in the frig and didn't.
  6. Yeah...He has been getting a bit dusty and NEEDS a bath. I've been able to wash his feet in the sink without a huge fuss but that’s the extent of what he will allow. Boy, he is not going to be happy with me when I get home...cause it's bath time!

    problem!!

From everything you wrote it does sound like you had a very, very young bird...I'm guessing 9-10 weeks if he was not yet fully feathered in the neck. There is no way he would have been weaned at that point in his life. I would definatly take some kind of action against the pet store, and get the word out to as many people as you can to let them know what this pet store is selling to people. Don't blame yourself, you did your best, and your baby got to be loved and cared for in his last hours...thats more than anyone else gave to him.
  8. I met my boyfriend at Tilt, the arcade in the mall, when I was 15. I hung out with my group of friends there and he would come in after work and play Tekken Tag Tournament. Out of everyone that played that game he was the best, and because he would never talk to anyone except the few people that had known him for awhile no one in my group knew his name...so we all called him "Tekken Guy". I was infatuated with him...he was (and still is) well built with the perfect V shape...like the statue of David, and his face is a mix of a younger Arnold Schwarzenegger (think Kindergarten cop age) and Jason Statham from The Transporter. I was head over heels for him but could never get the nerve to go and talk to him...he was this untouchable being to me. One day I was getting hit on a lot more than usual so my confidence was through the roof, so I decided I would walk up and get his FULL attention. Because I didn't know him at all and I really didn't know much about Tekken, so I asked him a hypothetical question. I walked up to him while he was playing and asked "Hypothetically, if you don't have a girlfriend, would you take me home?" I know, I know...very trashy of me, but it got his attention and broke the ice…we have been together ever sense. It'll be 7 years in January. I always joke with him now saying we can NEVER tell our kids this story...it would set a horrible example!
  9. My baby was hatched March 27 2007...the oldest of the 3 in his clutch. I brought him home May 13th 2007 at 6 1/2 weeks.
  10. I just ordered a jar of the Red Palm Oil online...I got it from http://www.junglepi.com/products/red_palm.html for $15 with free shipping. I was wondering, should I keep this in the refrigerator? I saw MrSpock said the 16oz would last 1 1/2 years with 2 greys...I only have one so I was wondering what the shelf life was as well. My grey is getting the dry looking feathers also because I have yet to get him to take a bath/shower. I wanted to know how everyone else goes about misting a reluctant bird that will do anything to get away from water without freaking them out. I'm going to be getting the Aloe Juice on my way home from work and would like to give him a good bath when I get home. I was thiking if all else fails I would take him outside for a little while when it's hot out to get him to want to cool off.
  11. That’s my thoughts exactly...I have talked to people with higher education that seemed like they were at the intelligence level as a soap dish.
  12. Yeah, I'm sure he will wake up when I get home...I'll probably take him out for a few so he gets his daily lovin'. I had him out while I fed all the bird this morning but that was only like, 10 min or so. if not I'll be like... psss...Psss...PSSSSS!! at his cage till he does.
  13. This is what Greys do when we are not home.
  14. Here we go...are these the ones you were talking about? Pretty funny.
  15. LOL...mine is the same way! I feel really bad about tonight. I have inventory at the warehouse that I work at and I left this morning at 6:15am (my usual time)and I'm not going to be home till the very earliest of 12:30am…might be much later. I left the TV on for him and he has the finches to scream at, but I still feel sooooo bad I have to be gone all day.<br><br>Post edited by: BMustee, at: 2007/09/21 21:48
  16. I always got the smaller containers and bought it from stores that have a quick turnaround with product so the product would be fresh...I won't buy it if it has dust on the top. I found in my area Petsmart was the best place to get it.
  17. I used Kaytee Exact for all birds (there is another formula for Macaws only). That is what my breeder used and when I did a bunch of research that was the brand mostly recommended. I would ask your breeder what they use because you don't want to just switch in an instant unless the baby refuses it...then he might just be sick of the formula.
  18. Yeah…I've read just about everything I could find before I got my CAG and some stuff is so full of fillers it's unreal.
  19. I've yet to see that one...whats the plot?
  20. Thats odd. I use a cement perch and that keeps my greys nails trim. I think if I was you I would call your vet back up and tell him what is going on and see what he thinks.
  21. I'm always helpful! I'm at work and it's pretty slow, so I jump at the chance to answer questions on the forum. Potty training isn't too hard...mine is almost trained. Sometimes he has a hard time holding it, but at least he knows not to let loose on me. LOL

    Alex

I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds like he had a very good life although it was cut short. I'm sure he knew how much he was loved and it's good he didn't go alone. Thanks so much for the website...I'm sure everyone will be saving it for reference.
