  1. Hi Kathy, i have 4 greys so i tend to make all my toys. I keep all my plastic tops of soft drinks, toilet rolls.I buy straws , childrens building bricks, pieces of leather (undyed, natural )etc.. I have put a link here for you on toys & if you read through it, it has some great links for toy making ideas. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/51769-recycling-and-building-new-toys.html#51932

  3. Continue the handfeeding formula 12 weeks is still young & grey babies are all different some wean earlier than others so dont worry.Depends what food is in the dishes,if its fresh fruit or veggies then remove after a few hours,if its seed or pellets then its fine to leave them. here is a link for you to have a read through. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/36364-hand-feeding-a-baby-grey.html

    biting

Well that may well be the answer then TAJ, greys can be very tempermental & don't take to change very well. You will have to let him adjust to the reef aquarium it sounds as if it's the tank that may well of scared him.Continue to open his door, reassure him all is ok, be patient with him.
  8. Sundarg there are many topics on biting if you enter biting in the search box at the top of the page you will be able to read through previous threads.

  10. little by little Ronda just increase the spraying each time you do here, let her acclimatize, sometimes mine get soaked & sometimes they just have a fine misting Do you spray directly at her ? always spray from above her head so the water can gently fall down on her.
  11. Ahh Jimmy your a sweetheart  you girlfriend is a lucky lady
  12. AS Judy says Ronda spray/mist her a few time a week she is still so young & will come to enjoy it, i had the same with my two boys they hated it to start with but now they love it

  18. giggles , & as the others have said $200 does not sound right & unfortunately there are people out there who will scam you.Try asking at your local avian vet, are there any birds clubs you could contact ?Personally i would continue looking for a breeder
  19. Great pictures Heather, Greys love to monkey around
  20. As the other members have said the food your grey eats can have an effect on your greys poop.Has he had any changes in his diet ? brown poop can also indicate blood,Is he acting his usual self, playing, eating,etc..birds hide illness very well, has any subsequent poops been brown ? if so i would suggest a visit to the vet & take a scrapping of the poop with you. please keep us up dated . Here is a link thats worth a read regarding bird poop http://www.parrotchronicles.com/septoct2002/droppings.htm<br><br>Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2008/01/16 11:07
  21. Kathy i tend to agree with MazyAK from the photos it does look like a molt as opposed to plucking. The new pin feathers are definitely coming through. With the first molt it tends to be a big one with a large amount of downy feathers lost , subsequently future molts are in general no where as bad as a greys first.Just keep an eye on the little patch on her neck as it does appear a little bald.Frequent misting with the aloe vera will help her.
