  1. Dan mine have just one each a day, they can have two per day but having 4 greys now i have to budget ! Even when i just had Alfie & Freddie tho they only ever had one a day.I personally think one is plenty, dont want them getting bored of them
  2. Abdullah has given you two good links, if you have a read through them you will find some good advice. Also you may like to have a read of the various topics in the bird food room .
  3. Great find Tari, i booked marked it & will follow
  4. Hi & welcome, I'm sorry to sound blunt i don't mean to but you cant just stick a male & female together & expect them to bond & breed. Greys need ideal aviary conditions & to be in excellant health & condition.Even then it may be that they are not compatable & may never breed. Please research as much as you can on breeding there is a wealth of inforamtiom on this site & the web. If you want them just as pets then id advise housing them in seperate cages in the same room, if they are out of their cages together you must supervize them at all times, there is no guarantee they will like eachother & may need seperate out of cage time to begin with.
  5. Pleased to hear things are heading in the right direction, perhaps Boo realizes that if your out then your wife is second best during the day but gets his dad in the evenings continue to let your wife spend one to one time with boo to build up a realtionship with him.
  6. If a question is repeated i always advise new members to use the search facility or i will post the relevant link.
  7. Tari i havent got one of me but i have one of my son with two of my tiels, can that count ?
  8. Deb try squashing the palm nut & peeling a bit of the flesh of & offer it to Romeo that way,my latest grey had never had palm nuts & that's what i did after a few days he started holding the palm nut & couldn't eat it quick enough.
  9. Heather you brag away, we dont mind Lovely picture of Harrison.
  10. Greys do tend to pick one human partner to bond with, unfortunately there isn't much you can do to change their minds.Your grey obviously feels your partner is that person, that doesn't mean that you cant have a relationship with her, continue being the one to give treats etc..hopefully in time she will associate you with good things.Three days isnt long at all,she needs to adjust to her new environment & new human family. Many people believe a male grey will bond with a female human & vica versa,i personally don't agree with that,i have both sexes that are bonded with me,i do believe its down to the personality of the individual grey.
  11. Hi Vanessa Wing flapping, or flying in place, is used as exercise, to get your attention, are your greys wings clipped ? There is also Wing flipping, this can mean many different things such as being angry or in pain. Flipping can also be used to fluff the feathers or get the feathers to lay just right. As Talon has said i would visit your avian vet to rule out any illness & if he is not intrested in his favourite foods then is something quite not right. Please let us know how you get on.
  12. if your husband has a relationship with the bird & you can accept another bird in to your home, i say go for it.As long as the birds are housed in separate cages & Radar still gets the same quality attention he gets now, he should be fine. The birds may never become friends but they may learn to tolerate each other & you never know Radar may enjoy the other birds company. As the other bird is already familiar with yourself & your husband i personally think you homing the bird will be less distressing for her than finding a new home with strangers.
  13. they are odd, if they were in my bird food room i would be able to lock them !
  14. i can see it Hannah, it looks really good, something i plan on making

    biting

birdgranna i do agree there appears to be no apparent reason for this behavioural change & a vet check is advised to rule out injury or illness.

TAJ i must admit if it's not the aquarium then i am at a slight loss as to what is causing his odd behaviour. Is he eating, preening, playing in his cage etc.. ? not sitting lethargic ? Apart from perhaps a vet check to see if he is ok, Could he have damaged himself at all ? He may be in pain ? maybe the other members may have some more ideas.
