1. Hi Judgram, I am certainly going to give it my best shot. I will definately post a Video when and If this happens
2. This is good info.... I learn at least 2 or 3 things to expect with my new Baby Dayo when I bring him Home. I would have thought he was just wanting to shake my Hand for being his Dad

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/07/04 18:06
3. Hi Beccy, Thanks! Yes, that is exactly what we did. We emailed her ( the Breeder) last night regarding Dayo's name. We will reinforce it also when we visit every Saturday too.
4. I can just Picture Talon hanging upside down and playing. I saw a youtube video of one that was fighting a Ball suspended from a cotton cord about 18 inches long while it was standing on a cotton rope. It would then duck the ball flying back at it after giving it a good whack with it's beak. Then flip upside down and whack another ball it lined up with in that direction. Then he would right himself again to attack the top ball :-) I must say, once they gain their coordination, they are agile and FAST!

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/07/04 17:06
5. Hi Talon, Thanks for the Photo's, now I can see how they look and are placed. I pictured hanging them from the ceiling with a Stainless eye. Looks like I have the right understanding.
6. Hi Shanlung, Thanks for the great information. Your website is so inspirational and the story of Tinkerbell, is a great work of art! Your experience and advise is well received.
7. Hi Paullywalnuts, Welcome to the Forum! You sound a lot like me during my search for a Grey, excluding the money cap. Rescues didn't work for me, after I realized I lacked the experience and knowledge it would take to rehab one of these intelligent guy's. I live in the San Joaquin Valley here about 180 miles north of you if you live in LA. My Breeder asks 950 for her CAG's. She presntly has six (one of which is mine) that will be weaned and fledged by the end of August or first of September. This may be a little further away than you wished. But, just thought I would let you know. From googling for CAG breeders down south, it looks like there are several. Then you could visit your CAG while it's at the Breeders. Only you know your situation well enough right now to make the right decision for You. But, we can sure give you lots of advise and ideas

9. Hi Talon, Do you have a photo of your Joshua tree stand? I am starting to favor those at this point and understand each is unique. In regards the spiral ropes, do they hang from the ceiling all the way to the floor? If not, does he simply fly to them, to get on them? Boy, I am building a BIG list of stuff to buy for Dayo..spiral ropes, check. :woohoo:

11. Hi Judygram, You are absolutely right, by the time Dayo get's here, anything he does shouldn't surprise me. Unless you are all holding out something vital to see how the "Newbie" reacts when all Hell breaks loose I know you guy's wouldn't do that.....right?????? Just kidding.
12. Tari wrote: Thanks for the link Tari! That sent me on a mission to find the actual Harry Belafonte song and I found it: http://www.ilovewavs.com/Holidays/Party/Day-O%20(The%20Banana%20Boat%20Song).wav Now I can't get this song out of my head.... I'll probably be singing it at work next week when I am back from my present vacation this week :woohoo:
13. Miltie and Tari - You can rest assured IF he picks up the "Theme Song" I will post it for all to see. I suspect that will be 6 to 9 months down the road though, so now you will have to have patience, like I am :-) Judygram - I joined about 2 weeks ago, but just really started posting this last week. Thanks for the warm welcome to this Family
14. Hi Judgygram, Yes, the love is unconditional. We don't get to bring Dayo home until the end of August or beginning of September He will be 12 weeks old this Saturday and the Breeder will not (I agree) let any go until they are maintaining their weigh on their own and fledging. But, WE GET TO VISIT!!
15. Hi Miltie, Yes, the meaning fit perfectly, to how just our short visits with him at the Breeders, makes "Joy Arrive" in our hearts:cheer:
16. Thanks Tari, Now I need to find that song...Day Yo, Daaaay eee Yo... I would be cool if my Baby Cag could pick up that one phrase I know, no promises on talking or sound affects, but I can dream :woohoo:
17. HI Tari, Thanks for the photo, it is a cool looking play stand and I'm sure your Birds are having a lot of fun. Please send photo's when you build your new one
18. Lidia wrote: Dan, I just want you to know your post made me splutter tea all over my front, I laughed out loud! OH MY GOD Lidia - Sorry for the unexpected humor  Thanks for the pictures, they are great and I can see your Bird just loves it. It may be made of simple items, but it looks VERY impressive!
19. Hi All, Since I posted the name "Ditto" I was considering, and received a few replies, WE decided on a more appropriate African Name. My wife did not like "Ditto"... So the search began. We decided his name will be Dayo, Meaning - joy arrives. I can't wait until Saturday and we will start calling him that :cheer:
20. Thats a good video Bekky...keep them coming  Chicken Bones will now be on my babies treat list, well once I get to bring it home anyway :woohoo: Thanks for posting it!!
21. Hi Lidia, Wow, that is quite impressive and it looks like your CAG is LOVING it!! It sounds like your Father is very handy at wood working. Now if I can just get my Wife to see why I need a table saw, lathe, drill press and a router, I think I could build my own stuff Thanks for the Post!

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/07/03 23:09
22. Hi Geoff, Java Tree stands are pretty nice too. I like the way each one is unique. All these really fun things for our new Baby to have when He gets home, decisions, decisions, decisions... I want them all :woohoo: I can see I am going to need to get my Wife involved on this decision or I could end up in the Cage myself  Thanks for the information!
23. HI Tari, Yes, it would be great to see the picture of it once you get it uploaded! I will check this book on your reccomendation. Thanks for posting!
24. Hi BondsMom, That is quite a play area and a great accomplish on your part in putting it together!! The pictures are great and really give me good ideas to ponder. Thanks for posting this!
25. Hi Beccy - Thanks for the information and link. That gives me a good idea on whats available. I will search it for sites here in the US. The UK would probably charge me more than it costs for shipping :-) I appreciate this feedback!!
