Unfortantly all those things can be true. If the bird is in the wrong hands. But since you are here that has got to mean your bird is in the right hands and youll have a sweet well behaved bird for the most part. lol Welcome to the world of greys.

I love the idea of the wing clip so they can glide. I hate when my birds plunk to the floor. It sounds so painfull. I'd like to give that a try.

Still no funny picture but been out of the house most of the weekend so maybe this week Ill find one.

I feed mostly fruit, veggies, rice, pasta, the kitchen sink. OK not the sink but I try to get as much stuff as I can. I love those 15 bean mixes. Without the seasoning. Easy to fix and usually add the frozen veggie mix from the freezer area. I add fresh veggies and fruit when on sale or I have an extra couple dollars. Probable not cheaper then the pellet mix but better for them. When I'm hand feeding babies I give her left over formula in the winter she gets warm oatmeal. She likes me to spoon feed these too her. I do this cause if I ever have to give her meds it well be easy to add to the oatmeal as long as it don't taste to nasty.

My grey is 8 years old and still only talks when she thinks Im not leasoning. But she did learn beeps long before words come out clear enough for me to understand.

Yes Monique, I have been a member of the club that does this bird fair every year for 11 years now. The parrotlets are in QT for at least 45 days. But thanks for the reminder. No I'm not a tiel fan. I like to look at them but dont care to own them. They are to beaky/mouthy for my taste. No I managed to leave with no other birds other then the parrotlet pair. Not only that but I bought 100 tickets and won nothing off the rafle table either. lol I won't do that again. Next year Ill just buy something to put on the table and not buy tickets. My friend entered a tiel I gave her four years ago and it wont first in her class and five best in show. Her little girls teil wont 3rd in show. And her grown daughthers bird won 4th in show and first in its class. They had a great time.

Oh forgot to mention they are having a teil bird show too in the room next to us.

I went to this fair with an idea. "I will not buy a bird, will not, will not, must not and will not." So guess what? Ya you got it I bought birds. {Feel-good-0002006E} I got a pair of unrelated parrotlets. A blue male and a split to blue female. So so darn cute. THIS IS IT NO MORE BIRDS. Well at least not till I can afford a breeder pair of TAG's. There are lots of baby greys. Several Cag's and Two TAGS but one of those is selling as a breeder. Someone even had a TAG for sale as a breeder for 250 bucks I asked her what was wrong with it she said she needed to place it cause it was an "extra". One of the club memebers said I should get it for Que. {Feel-good-000200A2} I told her to bite her tongue that Que was my baby not a breeder. {Feel-good-00020114} She begged my forgiveness. And promised never to suggest that again. (Understand this was all in fun.) And I got toys. Might get some perches tommorow and buy a few raffle tickets. I {Love-00020118} Bird fairs. Of course the hubby hates them. lol

I don't cover my TAG at night. We are in bed by 10 or at least not in the living room by then. I am up between 5 and 6. She is usally up and about by then. She is so far fine with this pattern. No bad habits or phobia's. I dont cover any of my parrots. Except my finches have one side covered I tend to keep the bedroom they are in cooler then the rest of the house so cover one side so they can get out of the air.

Sorry you lost you budgies. 13 is pretty old for a budgie. Wish I had the patience to tame mine but no luck at all in that department but thats ok I love watching them and leasoning to the chatter.

I clip for my birds safety. My husband runs in and out of the house with no regard to where my birds might be. I also have a very over stuffed messy house not dirty just cluttered. So way to many things a bird can get into that would not be good. Fish tanks for one. They are covered but if they should fly into one they could drown. So yes Im a believer in clipping and you can find several sites on my website as to why I clip and even some that show you how.

I wish you tons of luck and remember we are here for you anytime you need to ask questions or just get frustrated and need to vent. Heck I cant even tame a parakeet. lol But I can retame birds that have not been untamed for very long. Did that make since? Good Luck

There that was explained better then I could. When I bought my new oven I did not buy a self cleaning one. And it does not have any non stick stuff on it. I use backsoda and vinegar to clean it. Hard work but it is safe. And the good thing is it was cheeper oven. :laugh:

My husband now thinks I am nuts I have been sitting in my chair by my greys cage tring to catch her doing something funny. lol She just aint funny.

Pepper my sweet almost tamed budgie. Still needs a ton of work.

Oh we still have wild parrots but from long ago. Cause it is not legal to bring them into the us anymore. It is possble my amazon was a wild caught but he is 25 years old and as sweet as they come. One day Ill read that dang open band that is one him. lol Hmmm maybe Ill try that today. You would think after owning him for 6 years I would of done that by now.

Here in the US we do not have legal wild caught birds. But maybe someone that has or had one well log in soon with more answers.

Great link and wonderful Idea Im going to start this. Can we train to many things at a time? Cause I have been working on towel training so I can get the dang feather teather on my grey. So can I work on both at the same time?
