1. Not I. As a matter of fact my owning a grey was never a thought till a bird club member called me and told me Que's story. First buyer backed out cause of her scissor beak and she was 6 months old and needed a home soon. Even when I went to look at the bird I was still thinking no. But when Que made that cooing sound I was in love. {Love-00020118} I have never gotten any bird expecting it to talk and would tell anyone who ask that wanting a bird for the talking is the the worst reason to get a bird and get a new human friend instead. 2. Our lives are never the same. I have had months times that I had very little time for my birds. I gave them as much time as I could but during those times I keep in mind that things well settle down. In many cases. Job chances, moving ect we do get busy but that does not mean we should give up the bird/birds. Get a bigger cage spend as much time as you can with them and try not to worry so much. They are better off staying with us threw the rough times them being passed around.
3. Awww I really like that one with the parrots head on your shoulder. What a sweet baby.
4. Good for you. So many people wait till their bird is very sick to go to the vet. Hopefully you caught it early and your baby well be right as rain soon.

You have got to get to the avian vet ASAP. Cat saliva kills. And only a vet can save it.
6. Aww that is one cute bunny.
7. I know for a two hour drive I could get a second opion for all my birds. We only have one avian vet here and so far I have not needed to but would if I needed a second opion or a more experienced vet. Have you looked into that? I hope your bird is doing much better now.

Yes a trip to your avian vet would be the best place to start. Let us know how that turns out.
9. Ok the kitty with bird is to scary to be cute to me. They each have the potential to kill the other faster then you can blink. /shiver. Cute Kitty BMustee.
10. I so agree with the vet part. My hubby and I have been eating cheep to cover the last vet bill on my dog. We are not going without but hubby is complaining about the lack of meat on the table. But he don't complain to loud. lol
11. Such bright pretty colors. You are so lucky.

14. I think free flight is wonderful to see but I would never be able to do it. My heart would stop beating and I am to much of a chicken anyways.

16. I am so sorry to hear this. Athma is why I don't own a too. I bet there is anouther bird out there that needs a home that well fit perfect. Hope you are feeling more yourself soon.
17. I am smiling and you now have two more karma. What little dolls.
18. No matter how well trained a bird is there well always be a rish to taking them outside without a harness or cage. It is up to you if you are ok with the risk. I for one am not. I am so sorry you lost your baby and I hope you well find Tui.
19. Is your vet an avian vet? If not I would try to find one and go to that vet your baby is very sick. He can still get well but he well need more care. Also are you keeping your bird warm? I would keep him in a room or brooder at about 90 degrees until you see some improvement. As long as he is sick he still needs to be on medication and since your bird sounds very sick I would think he would need to stay at he vet and get shots. I am not a vet and can not stress how important it is to get your baby to an avian vet and soon.
20. How often you buy a cage depends on the cage mostly. My grey is almost eight years old and on cage three. First one was just all wrong and hard to move around. It was a hand made one good price for a temp cage but not very user friendly. Second one was nice but started to rust and I didn't like the food doors much. I love this last one but well be needing to replace it soon, as it is starting to show a lot of wear on the bottom crate area. There are other smaller birds you might want to think about. Parrotlets, lovebirds ect I would stay clear of the the tiels they are very dusty.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2008/05/24 19:01
21. No telling. I have a female that is almost 8 years old and has yet to lay any eggs. Am I right in assuming your bird can walk on the newspaper? I would look into a new cage. One where there is a crate over the tray so the bird can not walk on its own poop.
